Urban Nonpoint Source Pollution Assessment Using A Geographical Information System (GIS를 이용한 도심지 Nonpoint Source 오염 물질의 평가연구)

  • A geographical information systems(GIS) was a useful aid in the assessment of urban nonpoint source pollution and the development of a pollution control strategy. The GIS was used for data integration and display, and to provide data for a nonpoint source model. An empirical nonpoint source loading model driven by land use was used to estimate pollutant loadings of priority pollutant. Pollutant loadings were estimated at fine spatial resolution and aggregated to storm sewer drainage basins(sewershedsl. Eleven sewersheds were generated from digital versions of sewer maps. The pollutant loadings of individual land use polygons, derived as the unit of analysis from street blocks, were aggregated to get total pollutant loading within each sewershed. Based on the model output, a critical sewershed was located. Pollutant loadings at major sewer junctions within the critical sewershed were estimated to develop a mi t igat ion strategy. Two approaches based on the installat ion of wet ponds were investigated -- a regional approach using one large wet pond at the major sewer outfall and a multi-site approach using a number of smaller sites for each major sewer junction. Cost analysis showed that the regional approach would be more cost effective, though it would provide less pollution control.

  • This research analyzes current pedestrian's safety zone choice standard problem and described about correct standard re-thesis at real. About problem of pedestrian traffic accidents to specific item statistical data to basis ramification of pedestrian traffic accidents, occurrence type of accident, action type etc. synthetically analyze and mark pedestrian's safety zone by countermeasure for decrease of pedestrian traffic accidents and utilize operating domestic outer garment reward and drew domestic Zone30 zone choice standard. Also, because analyzing effect that traffic discharge and speed through on-the-spot probe get in pedestrian thinking, presented quantitative standard, and analyze accident special quality of back pedestrian traffic accidents occurrence number of item and so on do accident type beside quantitative standard, road function, accident latitude and present standard. Specially, take advantage of statistical data of traffic accidents and put emphasis in pedestrian safety. Also, because establishment standard about safety facility establishment of Zone30 zone and systematic thesis of operation way do not consist, standard guide of consistency it is no and does equipment that is established in Zone30 zone because confusion happens by each local unit presented establishment and operation way, and present Zone30 zone.

A Study on Design of Control Device on Small Wind Generator Using 2-Level Boost Converter (2레벨용 부스트 컨버터를 이용한 소형풍력발전기 제동장치 설계에 관한 연구)

  • The small wind generator with existing mechanical control system has a frequent failure and malfunction, and its maintenance is difficult. In this paper, an electric control method using a boost converter for small wind generator was suggested. The suggested 2-level boost converter control device was manufactured and its experimental operation were conducted on a wind generator with 200 [W] capacity. As a result of experimental device, the control by a boost converter was executed at the point that the output voltage of a wind generator became 36 [V] so it could be identified that the output voltage of a wind generator diminished and then it became 0 [V] after 5 [sec]. Besides, in case of applying the method suggested in this paper to a small wind power generation facility for street lights, it is expected to reduce its maintenance by preventing a frequent failure of a generator and to improve its utilization rate.

  • geoContents have been closely related with personal life since the Google Earth and Street View by Google and the Road View by Daum were introduced. So, Location-based content, which is referred to geoContents, involving geometric spacial information and location-based image information is a sharp rise in demand. A mobile mapping system used in the area of map upgrade and road facility management has been having difficulties in satisfying the demand in the cost and time for obtaining these kinds of contents. This paper addresses geoData acquisition and processing system for producing panoramic images. The system consists of 3 devices: the first device is 3 GPS receivers for acquiring location information which is including position, attitude, orientation, and time. The second is 6 cameras for image information. And the last is to synchronize the both data. The geoData acquired by the proposed system and the method for authoring geoContents which are referred to a panoramic image with position, altitude, and orientation will be used as an effective way for establishing the various location-based content and providing them service area.

  • In recent years, with increasing utilization of mobile devices such as smartphones, the need for PNS(Pedestrian Navigation Systems) that provide guidance for moving pedestrians is increasing. For the navigation services, road network is the most important component when it comes to creating route and guidance information. In particular, pedestrian network requires modeling methods for more detailed and vast space compared to road network. Therefore, more efficient method is needed to establish pedestrian network that was constructed by existing field survey and manual editing process. This research proposed a pedestrian network creation method appropriate for pedestrians, based on CNS(Car Navigation Systems) data that already has been broadly constructed. Pedestrian network was classified into pedestrian link(sidewalk, side street, walking facility) and openspace link depending on characteristics of walking space, and constructed by applying different methodologies in order to create path that similar to the movements of actual pedestrians. The proposed algorithm is expected to become an alternative for reducing the time and cost of pedestrian network creation.

Intercepted flow equation at grate inlet on road (도로 빗물받이 유입구의 차집유량 산정식)

  • The grate inlets generally were installed to intercept surface runoff on the roads and intercepted flow was drained to the underground sewer system. The equation of interception flow was used to determine the size and spacing of grate inlet on the roads. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the interception capacity of grate inlet. Hydraulic experimental apparatus which can be changed with the longitudinal slopes(2, 4, 6, 8, 10%) of street, the transverse slopes(2, 4, 7, 10%), and the lengths(50, 100, 150cm) of grate inlet was installed for this study. The range of the experimental discharges were calculated with change of road lanes(2, 3, 4) and design frequencies(5, 10, 20, 30year). As the transverse slope increased, it led to the increase of interception capacity at grate inlets. The long lengths of grate inlet with direction of flow increased the interception capacity by the increase of side inflow. On the basis of the hydraulic model experiment results, the empirical equations for calculation of the interception capacity were derived with regression analysis. As a result of comparison with equations, the suggested equation of this study was estimated reasonable one for increased design frequency. Therefore, this study can suggest the basic data for design of drainage facility at road.

An Empirical Analysis on Public Transportation Demand and TOD Design Factors in Seoul subway adjacent area (서울시 역세권의 TOD환경과 대중교통이용수요 관계분석)

  • TOD(Transit Oriented Development) has recently been active, which presents that TOD planning elements should be comprehensively taken into consideration in order to enhance domestic transit ridership by changing environments in rail station areas and an empirical analysis on the type of rail station areas and transportation demand should be a prerequisite for usage of future development planning. This study aims to grasp a variety of TOD of influence factors in Seoul rail station area and to perform analysis to identify relationship between public transportation demand and these TOD design factors. To make it come true, we gathered data with respect to Density, Diversity, and Accessibility as representative TOD planning elements and carried out factorial and regression analysis. Consequently, we drew 7 influence factors base on factorial analysis: Factor 1(Diversity/ -Use Mix(LUM)), Factor 2(Density/development density), Factor 3(Accessibility/public transportation facility supply), Factor 4(Design/street design), Factor 5(Green/access mode (pedestrian, bike), Factor 6(Design/subway size), Factor 7(Accessibility/Public transit operation) As the result of model development by using factorial and regression analysis, positive influence factors on passenger flow in rail station area are Factor 1(Diversity : Land-Use Mix), Factor 3(Accessibility : public transportation facility supply), Factor 2(Density : development density), Factor 5(Design/ access mode) and Factor 6(subway size) Next, negative influence factor on passenger flow in rail station area shows Factor 7(Accessibility/Public transit operation) as the most influential factor. This is because the growth of service interval of linked subway and bus leads to reduced demand.

Improvement of the Checklist for Residential Housing's Crime Prevention Accreditation Assessment (주거시설에 대한 CPTED 평가인증 기준 개선방안 연구)

  • Police crime statistics report that residential housing such as apartment, low rise, detached houses is the second most vulnerable to crime, which is closely followed by the number of street crimes. Also residential houses are often exposed to quality-of-life crime, e.g burglary. It threatens the basic human rights of house residents in terms of safety and comfort within the urban living environment. This study examines related precedent studies regarding the vulnerability of residential housing including studios, multi-family housing from the viewpoint of crime prevention through environment design(CPTED), extracted the elements and items suitable for the safety of residential facilities and the certification evaluation indicators and check items to be the basis for the checklist are derived. Based on these evaluation indicators and inspection items, we conducted on-site surveys of residential facilities in three areas of Seoul, Yongin and Asan, and the final draft of the checklist was revised based on the results of the field survey. There are 43 items on the 7 fields of evaluation in the final version of checklist, 11 items in the management and operation, 20 items in the surveillance, 7 items in the access control, 1 item in the territoriality, 2 items in the activity support, and 2 items in the security and safety facilities. In addition, various points of interest were added to allow the administrator of the residential facility to earn points for special measures taken for safety. This checklist can be appropriately modified and utilized in consideration of the characteristics of each facility. Korean national police agency has CPOs to check the residential facilities in their jurisdiction using checklists and to certify excellent facilities with high level of safety.

A Study on the Utilization Level of Public Facilities Obtained through Contributed Acceptance on Urban Regeneration Planning (도시정비사업의 기부채납 공공시설 이용실태에 따른 개선방안 연구)

  • Contributed acceptance system is causing problems with the usefulness and follow-up services and the like, other than the origin purpose which needs to be operated as rational adjustment method between the public interest and the private. Accordingly, this study has examine the problems by analyzing the present condition of practical public facilities and has the purpose on drawing the improvements by conducting consciousness survey from in substance users. The problems drawn from the analysis and the survey are location and position of the public facilities by reason of making public facilities at leftover land, the awareness and use as in-site facilities, creating street facilities without considering the use and safety of the users, follow-up service issues and the usefulness issues by creation without considering the surrounding conditions. The proposal of improvements for efficient operation by each problems are devising plans by considering location and position of the facilities for utilization and usefulness, secondly the necessity of the public relations for the improvements of the utilization of public facilities. thirdly, conducting the legal obligation by installing direction boards for its awareness of public facilities and delegating operation of facilities to public corporations such as SH, LH and inhabitants for efficient follow-up services, lastly, establishing the public facility map service which could figure out the surrounding conditions of public facilities to utilize for the contributed acceptance.

Development and Analysis of Non-Urban region Traffic Safety Facilities Considering Economics (경제성을 고려한 비도심 지역 교통안전 시설물의 개발과 분석)

  • In this study, traffic safety technology was developed for rural areas by reviewingthe relevant literature and data from the Traffic Accident Analysis System for the Chungcheong region.The goal is to reduce traffic accidents in small regional cities and rural areas in Korea. A road shoulder recognition light was developed to fit the pedestrian characteristics of the people using transportation in rural areas. It also minimizes damage to crops due to light pollution from traffic lights and street lights, and it supplements problems of damage from collision with vehicles and agricultural machines. The efficiency of the technology developed in this study was verified by comparing and analyzing the number of traffic accidents and the saved cost before and after its installation. A test bedwas established based on rural areas and is being evaluated for its applicability and effectiveness. It is expected that the reliability of such facilities could be improved through continuous studies, data collection, and analysis.
