This study investigates the relation between the location of a habitat and the ecological connections according to the habitat type in the riparian zone at the Bokha stream. Stream habitat is classified into nine types for the aquatic insects and fish. For vegetation and birds, habitat is classified into five types of medium-scale streams, including both physical and chemical streams are analyzed accordingly. The major results of this study are as follows: 1) A pool connected to the main stream has a certain water depth (about 80 cm) and is disturbed at least 5 to 6 times a year. Although the pool has a somewhat bad water quality, it provides a habitat for various types of young fish. 2) A meander riffle is about 15 cm deep, the flow velocity in the region is about 75 cm/s. This region does not have large structures to which aquatic insects can attach, so it cannot be used as a spawning ground. 3) A rock type pool is about 60 cm deep, the flow velocity in the meander riffle is about 25 cm/s. In this region, many aquatic insects attached to large structures appear. Due to various riparian vegetation, the rock type pool is used as a habitat for aquatic insects. 4) A pool which is only connected to the main stream during floods has a bad water quality. Despite of its relatively small size, it has a high population density of aquatic insects. faculty.

GeoSensor network means sensor network infra and related software of specific form monitoring a variety of circumstances over geospatial. And these GeoSensor network is implemented by mixing data stream with spatial attribute, spatial relation. But, until a recent date sensor network system has been concentrated on a store and search method of sensor data stream except for a spatial information. In this paper, we propose a definition of spatial data stream and its join strategy model at GeoSensor network, which combine data stream with spatial data. Spatial data stream s defining in this paper are dynamic spatial data stream of a moving object type and static spatial data stream of a fixed type. Dynamic spatial data stream is data stream transmitted by moving sensor as GPS, while static spatial data stream is generated by joining a data stream of general sensor and a relation with location values of these sensors. This paper propose joins of dynamic spatial data stream and static spatial data stream, and cost models estimating join cost. Finally, we show verification of proposed cost models and performance by join strategy.
We analyzed the variations of water quality with flow regime alterations to determine the characteristics of the stream where the stream management is considerably difficult due to the high variability of the flow rates. In this study, both flow rates and water qualities were monitored at the tributaries, 34 in count, of both Geum River and Sabgyo Lake Basins. The variation of water qualities were divided into 2 types, based on their stream flow rates, known as Type I and Type II. If the water quality of a stream increases during low flow rate periods compared with high flow rate periods, it is classified as Type I; if the water quality of the stream increases during high flow rate periods compared with low flow rate periods, it falls under Type II. The analysis for the variations of water qualities, of all 43 basins, resulted to 24 basins under Type I and Nineteen 19 basins under Type II. The variations of water qualities were analyzed first by using Regression Analysis followed by Statistical Analysis. The average slope of the variations of water qualities and the slope of the standard deviations were 0.00135 and 0.00477, respectively. The Probability Distributions of both Type I and Type II basins were 61.1% and 38.9%, respectively. The basin having a probability distribution of 61.1% and is also known as Type I, increases during periods of low flow rates, due to the presence of point sources. Therefore, the basin should be enforced with stream management. Before the stream management can be implemented in all streams falling under Type II, the sources of contaminants should first be estimated. These contaminants can be classified into two parts, the first is Point source pollution and the second is Non-point source pollution, where the Non-Point source pollution can be sub-divided into two types, with storm runoff and without storm runoff.
Researches using DEM are actively progressed in field of water resource, and especially the extraction of watershed and stream based on topographic and hydrologic analysis, is widely used in GIS analysis recently. However, because it is extracted that watershed which is type of sliver polygon and stream which is type of straight line in low topographic region, they're not efficient for application. This study determined buffer zone from stream and tried smooth elevation change to buffer zone in order to efficiently extract abnormal watershed and stream being occurred in low topographic region. Especially, we applied equal-distance assignment model using Voronoi Diagram to determine smooth elevation change. Also, we extracted watershed and stream using stream recognition DEM and origional DEM, and evaluated the efficiency of research through comparing the shape of watershed and stream in low topographic region.
To investigate the ichthyofauna and habitat type of the fish in Tamjin River system, Korea, fishes were collected with cast net ($5{\times}5\;mm$, $8{\times}8\;mm$) and dip net ($4{\times}4\;mm$) at eight stations seasonally during five years from 2000 to 2004. 56 species belonging to 18 families were collected and 15 Korean endemic species( 26.8%) were investigated. While Coreoperca kawamebari was occurred at every station, the number of individuals and composition were decreased. Anguilla marmorata was not collected and the exotic species didn't appeared. Dominant species were Zacco platypus(34.2%), Squalidus gracilis majimae (9.4%), Microphysogobio yaluensis(8.1%), Zacco temmincki(6.8%) and Acheilognathus lanceolatus(5.1%). The surveyed stations were clustered into 3 groups: up stream, main stream and estuary. With the cluster analysis using the relative abundance of major fishes at each habitat, fishes were separated into 5 habitat types: U (upstream type), UM (up and main stream type), M (main stream), ME (main stream and estuarine type), and E (estuarine type).

Two flexible admission control schemes for integrated voice and stream-type data services are proposed in DS-CDMA systems. Most Previous studies on admission control have focused on integration of short, bursty Packet-type data services and conventional voice services. However, stream-type data services with a relatively long service holding time are expected to be a considerable portion of data traffic in future generation cellular systems. Scheme I is a basic scheme that accommodates both voice and data services with full bandwidth. However, voice services are given priority over data services using the duration difference between the holding times for these services. Scheme ll uses a different method to efficiently give priority to voice services over stream-type data services. An additional interference margin for voice services is provided by suppressing interference from stream-type data services according to voice access requests and a varying interference status. Performance of the two schemes is evaluated by developing Markovian models. Numerical results show that the voice capacity is highly sensitive to the service holding time of data services while the performance measures of data services are not highly sensitive. Scheme H is a significant improvement over Scheme I for accommodating voice and stream-type data services
This study is to develop an assessment system for stream physical environments by considering stream characteristics. Comprehensively, the descriptions of and steam classification, assessing reach selection, contents of assessment categories and indexes are summarized. Since the physical structure of stream is results of reaction by stream power, streams were classified into three types (as high gradient stream, mid gradient stream and low gradient stream) according to the slope of channel, the grain size of bed material and the characteristics of channel topography. The scale of assessment reach was selected based on 10 or 25 times of channel width according to typical characteristics such as interval of step or riffle and sinuosity in each stream type. The assessment indexes were organized into common indicators such as channel stability, flow status, cross-section shape, bank stability, channel alteration and stream crossing structure, and characteristic indicators by stream type such as effective habitats, bed embeddedness, diversity of flow and frequency of step or riffle. To evaluate the applicability, the assessment system was applied to 9 streams and the results were analyzed and presented.
Background: Habitat selectivity and ecology of freshwater fishes were studied in two selected streams and their junction point which consist a total of 39 microhabitats. The aims of this study were to describe the habitat preference and its availability to fish assemblage, as well as ecology, habitat use, and habitat characteristics. Methods: We collected fish with backpack electrofishing three times during August 2013, December 2013, and March 2014. Using a variation partitioning approach of R software, we studied the relationship of fish abundances with stream type, habitat type, and abundance of key macroinvertebrate taxa. Results: A total of 6554 fishes representing four species belonging to the family Cyprinidae were caught. A higher total fish abundance was recorded from Gereb Tsedo (4870; 74.3%) than from Elala stream (1684; 25.7%). Taking both streams together, the overall total relative fish abundance was significantly higher in pools (53%) than in runs (35%) and in riffles (12%) at P < 0.05. Species-wise comparisons showed that 71%, 15%, 13%, and 1% of the pool fish community were occupied by Garra blanfordii, Garra ignestii, Garra dembecha, and Garra aethiopica, respectively. Stream type, habitat type, and key macroinvertebrate taxa each explained a significant proportion of the variation in fish abundance. Based on the variation partitioning approach, fish abundance was higher in Gereb Tsedo stream (P < 0.01). Moreover, fish abundance increased with pool habitat type (P < 0.01) and with availability of key macroinvertebrate taxa (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Fish abundance differed between stream types, among habitats and among key macroinvertebrate taxa availability. Among the factors, habitat type was the most important driving factor behind variation among fish abundances, and pool supports the highest fish abundance.
Benthic macro invertebrate communities were collected at six different sampling sites in the Musucheon stream in Korea from July 2006 to July 2007, and ecological exergy values were calculated based on five different functional feeding groups (collector-gatherer, collector-filterer, predator, scrapper, and shredder) of benthic macro invertebrates. Each sampling site was categorized to three stream types (perennial, intermittent and drought) based on the water flow condition. Exergy values were low at all study sites right after a heavy rain and relatively higher in the perennial stream type than in the intermittent or the drought stream type. Self-Organizing Map (SOM), unsupervised artificial neural network, was implemented to pattern spatial and temporal dynamics of ecological exergy of the study sites. SOM classified samples into four clusters. The classification reflected the effects of floods and droughts on benthic macroinvertebrate communities, and was mainly related with the stream types of the sampling sites. Exergy values of each functional feeding group also responded differently according to the different stream types. Finally, the results showed that exergy is an effective ecological indicator, and patterning changes of exergy using SOM is an effective way to evaluate target ecosystems.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of stream purification equipment system combined MBP (Micro Bubble Process) and AGBP (Aerobic Granular Biofilm Process). Based on results, the optimal HRT (Hydraulic Retention Time) of MBP and AGBP set as 0.72 and 2.4 h, respectively. In the results of continuous operation on combined MBP and AGBP, it is possible to achieve a BOD, TSS and T-P removal efficiency of 85, 90 and 94%, respectively. It also confirmed that the water quality of the stream can be purified with increasing circulation flow through water simulation evaluation applied the QUAL-NIER model. Consequently this purification system can resolve the stream purification and dry stream problem.
