전방압출 공정에서 제품 변형 이력 (Deformation History of Product during Forward Extrusion Process)

  • The study has been performed for the relation between die and product in forward extrusion by the experiment. Strains of the die have been given by the simple experiment using the strain gauge located at the outer surface of the die and the history of the deformation of the die and product is given by the experiment and Lame's formula. The inner pressure of the die causes the deformation of die that affects the accuracy of dimension and shape of product. The product with accurate dimension and shape can be obtained by analysing elastic deformation of the die during process. The deformation of the die during metal forming process has been usually predicted by the experience of industrial engineer or finite element analysis. But it is difficult to predict the dimension of product at unloading and ejected states. The study has given useful results for the deformation history of the die and product through the experiment and Lame's formula at forward extrusion for solid cylinder and can be applied to the die design for product with accurate dimension.

STRAIN CHANGES OF ACRYLIC RESIN SPECIMENS CURED BY THREE CURING CYCLES

  • The acrylic resin was first introduced as denture base materials in 1937 and it is commonly used for denture base fabrication nowadays. Three different curing cycles (Conventional curing cycle, short curing cycle and long curing cycle) and three commercially available heat-activated acrylic resins (Vertex RS, Lucitone 199 and ProBase Hot) were investigated to find the curing cycle and material that showed the minimum shrinkage of the resin during polymerization process. A brass master mold was fabricated and duplicated by additional silicone impression material. Stone molds were made by pouring of type III dental stone (SILKY-ROCK YELLOW, Whip-Mix, Louisville, Kentucky). It was embedded in the flask. Strain gauge and thermocouple were embedded in the specimen. Strain gauge and thermocouple were connected to signal conditioning amplifier and data was recorded by pre-programmed software. The parameters ESmax (Maximum expansion strain), Sb (Strain measured just before deflasking procedure), Sa (Strain measured just after deflasking procedure) and Sf (Strain measured at the end of the experiment) were measured. ${\Delta}$S was calculated from Sb and Sa (${\Delta}$S=Sb-Sa). In the experiment concerned about materials, the parameters 90-ESmax (Maximum expansion strain measured during early 90 minutes of curing procedure), 180-ESmax (Maximum expansion strain measured from 90 minutes to 180 minutes), Sb, Sa, ${\Delta}$S and Sf were measured and the following conclusions were made. 1. The ESmax value of conventional curing cycle showed the largest value and the 180-ESmax value of Lucitone 199 showed the smallest value. 90-ESmax values showed no significant difference (p<0.05). 2. ${\Delta}$S values of conventional curing cycle showed the positive values. ${\Delta}$S values of short curing cycle and long curing cycle showed the negative values. All three materials cured by conventional curing cycle showed the positive values. 3. The Sf values of long curing cycle and ProBase Hot (cured by conventional curing cycle) showed the smallest values.

PVDF 필름을 이용한 구조물의 동적 변형률 측정 (Measurements of Dynamic Strain of Structures Using PVDF Films)

  • In this study, the applicability of PVDF films for measurements of dynamic strain in a structure was investigated. A relationship between the strain and the voltage response of a PVDF film was analytically derived. Free vibration test on a steel cantilever beam was performed and vibration response of the beam was measured both by a convential foil strain gauge and a PVDF film. Strain-voltage relationship obtained from the experiment was compared with the analytic relationship. Good agreement between the analytic and experimental relationships was observed. It was found that a tailored PVDF film can measure the dynamic strain of a structure as accurate as a conventional foil strain gauge.

점 용접부의 변형률 측정 및 영향 평가 (Evaluation on the Influence and Measurement of Strain in Spot Welded Joint)

  • Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) using the Model 95 Ar. laser, a video system and an image processor was applied to the in-plane displacement measurements. Unlike traditional strain gauges or Moire method, ESPI method requires no special surface preparation or attachments and can be measured in-plane displacement with no special surface preparation or attachments and can be measured in-plane displacement with no contact and real time. In this experiment specimen was loaded in parallel with a loadcell. The specimen was the cold rolled steel sheet of 2mm thickness, which was attached strain gauges. The study provides an example of how ESPI have been used to measure strain displacement in this specimen. The results measured by ESPI compare with the data which was measured by strain gauge method in tensile testing.

  • 산업현장에서의 안전사고 빈도가 높은 지게차 전복의 주요 원인인 과적을 방지하기 위해 개발된 앵커(anchor) 볼트 형태의 strain 게이지 센서의 초기 값 오차를 보정하는 방법을 제안하였다. Strain 게이지 센서의 초기 값 오차는 앵커 볼트의 물리적이고 기계적 오차와 환경적 문제에기인하는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 원인들을 제조 공정에서 제거하는 것은 본 연구의 범위를 벗어나는 것이기 때문에 제반 원인들을 고려한 보정 값을 찾고, 이 보정 값으로 strain 게이지 센서부를 구성하는 ADC 모듈의 초기 값을 보정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 보정 값 도출을 위하여 선형 보간법을 채택하였다. 도출한 보정 값을 4개의 strain 게이지 센서에 적용하여 시험한 결과 4개의 센서 모두 실제 중량 값과의 차이가 5% 이내가 되는 것을 확인하였다. 아울러 초기 값 보정 전에는 센서들의 ADC 값과 적재 중량 실제 값의 상관성이 없었던 점도 동시에 해결할 수 있었다.

  • 유도가열 방식의 전기보온압력밥솥은 밥솥 전체를 가열하기 때문에 밥맛이 좋고, 빠르게 밥을 지을 수 있는 장점이 있어서 많이 사용되고 있다. 특별히 전기보온압력밥솥의 오븐은 내부에 압력이 작용하기 때문에 안전성 검토가 반드시 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 변형률을 평가하기 위하여 스트레인 게이지를 이용한 실험을 수행하였고, 그 결과를 유한 요소법을 이용한 구조 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 또한, 영구 변형량을 평가하기 위하여 수부하 실험을 수행하였고, 그 결과를 구조 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 이들 실험과 해석 결과를 통하여 오븐의 안전도를 평가하는 방법을 제시하였다.

스트레인 게이지를 이용한 접촉식 용접선 추적 센서에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Contact Seam Tracking Sensor by Using Strain Gauges)

  • 조선과 자동차 등의 금속 가공분야의 용접산업부분에서는 용접을 하기 위해 여러 종류의 용접선 추적 센서들이 사용되고 있다. 용접선을 검출하는 센서에는 용접모재와 센서의 접촉여부에 따라 접촉식과 비접촉식 센서로 크게 대별할 수 있고, 현 산업전반에서는 대부분 접촉식 센서를 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서도 접촉식센서의 일종인 스트레인 게이지를 응용하여 센서를 제작하여 용접부위를 얼마나 잘 추적하는지 실험하였다. 실험장치는 스트레인 게이지 센서, 스트레인 게이지 신호의 증폭회로, 삼각파 발생기, MOSFET 파워 드라이버 회로와 DC 모터로 구동되는 X-Y 슬라이더 등으로 구성되어 있다. 용접선의 추적범위는 상하좌우로 동작을 하고 스트레인 게이지의 저항변화가 X-Y 슬라이더에 연결된 DC 모터를 구동시키게 된다. 실험결과 용접부위를 센서가 잘 추적하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 실제 산업현장에 있어서 적용가능성에 대해서 알아보았다.
