Determination factors for catch rate of the target species between circle hook and straight shank hook in the Korean tuna longline fishery (우리나라 다랑어연승어업에 있어서 환형낚시와 재래식낚시를 사용하여 목표종의 어획률을 결정하는 요인 분석)

  • We conducted experiments to compare the catch rate of bigeye tuna and yellowfin tuna between circle hooks and straight shank hook in the Korean tuna longline fishery at the eastern and central Pacific Ocean from 2005 to 2007. We analyzed difference of fork length, survival and hooking location between a circle hook and a straight shank hook for both tunas, respectively. There was no difference in the mean fork length size of yellowfin tuna caught on the two type of hook but bigeye tuna was significant. In case of survival, there was no difference between two hook type, but the difference of hooking location was significant for both species. We also analyzed to find determinants of both tunas catch rate using generalized linear models (GLMs) which were used latitude, longitude, year, month, depth, hook type, bait type and so on as independent variables. Spatial factors, latitude and longitude, and temporal factors, year and month, affected catch rate of bigeye tuna and yellowfin tuna. And also, depth such as a marine environment factor was influenced on catch rate.

The Classification and Analysis of Lateral Somatotype among Middle and High School Girls (중·고 여학생의 측면 체형분류 및 체형분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify body types of 800 female junior and high school students based on factor analysis, cluster analysis, and correspondence analysis of 15 photometric measurements of the subjects' lateral body lines. The results are as follows: The skeleton structure, which was represented the back bending by the photometric measurement, was already formed at age of 12 or 13, while the cervical skeleton, the size and inclination of the shoulder, and the degree of the lateral inclination of the upper body and the buttocks continued to grow by the age of 16. A factor analysis of the photometric measurement resulted in the sampling which determined the degree of the back bending, front-bust angle, and lateral view as well as the sampling whose factor represented the cervical inclination. A cluster analysis of the photometric measurement resulted in the four types of classification: Type 1, the straight type comprising 13.3% of the whole population; Type 2, the bent-forward type comprising 39.5%; Type 3, the lean-back type comprising 27.4%; and Type 4, the swayback type comprising 19.1%. Accordingly, the bent-forward type was found to be the dominant type among the four lateral body types.

Modeling and Control of Welding Mobile Robot for the Tracking of Lattice Type Welding Seam (격자형 용접선 추적을 위한 용접 이동로봇의 모델링 및 제어)

  • This paper presents the motion control of a mobile robot with arc sensor for lattice type welding. Its dynamic equation and motion control method for welding speed and seam tracking are described. The motion control is realized in the view of keeping constant welding speed and precise target line even though the robot is driven along a straight line or comer. The mobile robot is modeled based on Lagrange equation under nonholonomic constraints and the model is represented in state space form. The motion control of the mobile robot is separated into three driving motions of straight locomotion, turning locomotion and torch slider controls. For the torch slider control, the proportional integral derivative (PID) control method is used. For the straight locomotion, a concept of decoupling method between input and output is adopted and for the turning locomotion, the turning speed is controlled according to the angular velocity value at each point of the comer with range of $90^{\circ}$ constrained to the welding speed. The proposed control methods are proved through simulation results and the results have proved that the mobile robot has enough ability to apply the lattice type welding line.

Modeling and Motion Control of Mobile Robot for Lattice Type Welding

  • This paper presents a motion control method and its simulation results of a mobile robot for a lattice type welding. Its dynamic equation and motion control methods for welding speed and seam tracking are described. An Analysis of the Somatotype of Elderly Women (노인여성의 측면체형 분석)

  • through Sid View Silhouette The purpose of this study was to pro-vide basic information for elderly women's clothing construction and to develop dress forms that can reflect the charac-teristics of their bodies. The subjects were 251 elderly women aged from 60 to 81. Data were collected from 34 photographic measurements of each subject and analyzed by factor analysis cluster analysis analysis of variance. The results were as follows: 1. A decrease in height the bustline drops as age increase. From a lateral view point most of the subjects have straight posture with protruding ab-domens but the somatotype gradually bends bends forward with age. 2) Five factors were extracted from photometric measurement which explain 81.0% of variance. 3 Through cluster analysis using 5 fac-tor scores four types were categorized. Type I was turning over somatotype Type II was swayback somatotype Type III was straight somatotype Type IV was bending somatotype according to its po-sition to the relative plumb liner and their side view contour.

  • Mirror surface finish of Si-wafers has been achieved by rotary in-feed machining with cup-type wheels in ELID grinding. But the diameter of the workpiece is limited with the diameter of the grinding wheel in the in-feed machining method. In this study, some grinding experiments by the rotary surface grinding machine with straight type wheels were conducted, by which the possible grinding area of the workpiece is independent of the diameter of the wheels. For the purpose of investigating the grinding characteristics of large scale diametral silicon wafer, grinding conditions such as rotation speed of grinding wheels and revolution of workpiece are varied, and grinding machine used in this experiment is rotary type surface grinding m/c equipped with an ELID unit. The surface ground using the SD8000 wheels showed that mirror like surface roughness can be attained near 2~6nm in Ra.

Developing the Traffic Accident Models of Arterial Link Sections by Driving Type (운전 유형에 따른 가로구간 사고모형 개발)

  • This study deals with the accident models of arterial link sections by driving type. The objectives is to develop models by driving type using the accident data of 24 arterial links in Cheong-ju. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular emphasis to modeling such the accidents as the straight, lane change and others. The main results analyzed are as follows. First, the number of accidents is analyzed to account for about 59% in straight, 31% in lane change and 10% in others. Second, the number of left-turn lane as common variables, and the ADT, number of pedestrian crossings, connecting roads and link length as specific variables are selected in developing models(number of accident and EPDO). Third, 8 models which are all statistically significant are developed. Finally, RMSE of the driving type models was analyzed to be better than that of dummy variable.

A Study on the Somatotype Classification of Women in the Early 20's (20대 전반 여성의 체형분류에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the somatotypes of women in the early 20's, which were likely to deform due to bad posture in growth period. Accordingly, bodies of women aged 20 to 24, whose growth stopped, were measured directly and indirectly, and factors related to body shapes were extracted, body shapes were categorized based on the data, and the characteristics of each body shape were analyzed. As a result, 10 factors related to body shapes were extracted in the factor analysis, and body shapes were categorized into 6 types. Type 1 was the volume of body that was big and the longest; and the general frame was large. The straight body shape with small back protrusion; the shoulder is relatively thick and the width of the shoulder was normal. Type 2 was the volume of body that was the biggest and the upper body was the longest; the general frame was of average height. The forward body shape with the back flat; the shoulder was very thick, wide, and serious leaning forward. Type 3 was a body that was thin and the shortest. The sway-back body shape with big curvature at the back; the shoulder was thin, narrow, and straight. Type 4 was a body that was short stature, and the general frame was of average build. The forward body shape with the most serious back protrusion; the shoulder was normally thick, narrow, and straight. Type 5 was a group with small body, and the lower body and general frame are long. The sway-back body shape with protrusion at the upper shoulder and the sides leaning backward; the shoulder was thin, wide, and leaning forward. Type 6 was a thin and short body; and the general frame was small. The lean-back body shape with the smallest back protrusion and leaning backward; the shoulder was thin, narrow, and leaning backward. Characteristics of the classified body shapes can be used in producing ready-made clothes, and it is hoped that there will be follow-up studies on clothing pattern design and production based on this result.

The Structures of Feeding Organs in Two Korean Ricefishes (Pisces, Adrianichthyidae), Oryzias latipes and O. sinensis (한국산 송사리속 Oryzias 2종 섭이기관의 구조적 특징)

  • Structure on the feeding organs in two Korean ricefishes, Oryzias latipes and O. sinensis, was examined in the jaws and the teeth. In the jaw, O. latipes has a dent on the dorsal edge of distal arm of premaxilla (vs. straight in O. sinensis) and a alveolar arm of premaxilla running in straight line with distal arm of premaxilla (vs. ventra line in O. sinensis). O. latipes has also a dent on the posterior edge of dentary which is connected to coronoid process of dentary (vs. straight in O. sinensis). Large teeth developing only in the male, which is sexual dimorphism, developed into outside direction of the mandible in O. latipes (vs. dorsal direction in O. sinensis). In the teeth forms, O. latipes has two types (conical type and arrowhead type), whereas O. sinensis has only one type (conical type). Through this study, we confirmed that two Korean ricefishes show distinctive characteristics in the structure of the feeding organs.

Theoretical and Experimental Investigation on the Probe Design of a Ridge-loaded Slot Type for Near-Field Scanning Microwave Microscope

  • In this paper, a rectangular waveguide probe with a ridge-loaded straight slot (RLSS) is presented for a near-field scanning microwave microscope (NSMM). The RLSS is located laterally at the end wall of the cavity and is loaded on double ridges in a narrow straight slot to improve the spatial resolution compared with a straight slot. The probe consists of a rectangular cavity with an RLSS and a feed section of a WR-90 rectangular waveguide. When the proposed NSMM is located at distance of 0.1mm in front of a substrate without patches or strips, the simulated full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the probe improve by approximately 31.5 % compared with that of a straight slot without ridges. One dimensional scanning of the E-plane on a sample under test was conducted, and the reflection coefficient of the near-field scanning probe is presented.
