  • Currently the super power of department stores over their tenants has mentioned in Korean apparel newspapers very often. It may be the one that the government in fashion industry has not delved into the relationship between department stores and their tenants. The aim in here is to look at the conceptual framework of power based on the retail power oriented and to explain current issues with its theoretical backgrounds. Due to the inherent of retailer power oriented, this study involves not only in French and Raven's power sources but also in positioning power source that is the ability of allocating the location and adjusting size of the store. 235 samples are tested through Lisrel. The results of statistical analysis show that: The power of department store over that perceived by the tenant has negatively influenced countervailing power of the tenant upon department store. The coercive power sources of department store have positively influenced the power of department store over that perceived by the tenant while the non-coercive power sources have not significantly influenced on it. The countervailing power of the tenant has positively influenced the non-coercive power sources of department store perceived by the tenant. On the other hand, the countervailing power of the tenant has not significantly influenced the coercive power sources of department store perceived by the tenant. The implication of these results is that the retailer oriented power sources and its implements differs from the manufacturer oriented ones in the framework of power. A great deal more research is required in order that the relationship between department store and its tenants can be better understood.

Questionnaire survey was done to 500 elderly women aged over 55 in Chonbuk province from Mar. 1. to Mar. 15, 2000, and 360 questionnaires were used. Frequencies, percentages, means, factor analysis, cluster analysis, $\chi$$^2$-test, and ANOVA were done with SPSS Win+. Duncan's Multiple Range test was followed. The factors of clothing benefits ere consisted of fashion, brand loyalty, economy, practicality, activity, and utility. The elderly women segmented into 4 groups of the reasonability pursuit, th economy & practicality, the benefit unconscious, and the fashion & brand pursuit. The fashion information sources were divided into mass communication-dominated source and point-of-purchase & consumer-dominated source. The factors of store patronage criteria were divided into product assortment, convenience, and additive service. The economy and practicality pursuit selected their clothing with the help of others, used any kind of information sources less, considered convience of the store more, shopped at traditional market, group size was the biggest, was the oldest, and educated less. The reasonability pursuit selected their clothing by themselves, used all kind of information sources, considered many facets of stores, shopped at department store, was younger, healthier, educated more, and lived with husband more. The benefit unconscious spent less money to their clothing, lower usage of information sources, selected their clothing with the help of others, considered all facets of stores less, shopped at moderate or volume zone apparel market or traditional market, was older, healthy, and involved the widowed more. • VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc Network), an example of an ad hoc vehicular networks, becomes one of the popular research areas together with the self-driving cars and the connected cars. In terms of the VANET implementation, the traditional TCP/IP protocol stack could be applied to VANET. Recently, CCN (Content Centric Networking) shows better possibility to apply to VANET, called VCCN (VANET over CCN). CCN maintains several data tables including CS (Content Store) which keeps track of the currently requested content segments. When the CS becomes full and new content should be stored in CS, a replacement algorithm is needed. This paper compares and contrasts four replacement algorithms. In addition, it analyzes the transmission characteristics in diverse network conditions. According to the simulation results, LRU replacement algorithm shows better performances than the remaining three algorithms. In addition, even the size of CS is small, the network maintains a reasonable transmission performance. As the CS size becomes larger, the transmission rate increases proportionally. The transmission performance decreases when the network is crowded as well as the number of transmission hops becomes large.

  • The most important two decision-makings which a retail store owner face require which place of the store should geographically be established and which stock should be properly placed on the shelves. The problem of geographic positioning is the decision-making for the store's positioning and stock arrangement within the retail store is the decision-making for the placement store. In order to determine the positioning, the expected area should be analyzed so that the analysis of commercial area can usually be implemented in accordance with retail marketing strategy and therefore the sized of the potential market for example each distric's clientele, competition and, a municipal community's regulations, could be evaluated. But I contend that with only the size of potential market does not give an adequate answer to the problem of a store's positioning. Through the estimation of commercial are in combination with feng-shui, the theory of divination based on topography, the store's position could be selected, taking a positive energy, Gi. This thesis is the starting point of these trials. In the long run, the actual analysis of the study should be continued in a more scientific, systematic, statistical way.

  • This study aims to improve the Evacuation Performance o( the I)inc()unto-store in underground that is rapidly new shopping store in Korea. In this paper, The architectural properties of the floor plan and section was reviewed with egress focus, occupant load density of the Discount-store was surveyed and the procedure and method of performance based egress design for this occupancy was analysed with SIMULEX model and calculation method. As a result of modeling, more longer available safe egress time (ASET) is expected than required safe egress time (RSET)in underground discount-store. In order to improve the Evacuation Performance for this type occupancy, egress capacity including escape stair, aisle width, escape door is calculated with based on occupant load density and review of shopping cart's structure and size and maximum escape capacity of the cash counter.

  • Purpose - Based on the existing retail policy literature, this study aims to compare Korea with foreign countries, to propose better ideas for the Korean retail market. Research design, data, and methodology - It is necessary to analyze the existing retail regulations after categorizing them into several groups, depending on why governments have regulated retailers and the background for the retail policy. Results - Given that Korean retail regulations have focused on protecting conventional markets, comparing the retail policy objectives of South Korea and foreign countries is difficult. Conclusions - It is necessary examine how to protect independent stores, irrespective of store locations across the country. Rather than limiting the distance between traditional markets and the projected locations suggested by large retailers, various factors such as store size limit, opening and closing times, below-cost selling, land use planning, and competition tests are needed to protect small stores. Further, centralized authority for store operations should be delegated to local governments, to tackle the aggressive expansion of retail giants. To protect independent stores, political background is among the most important factors.
