Floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) is a production facility that refines and saves the drilled crude oil from a drilling facility in the ocean. The flare system in the FPSO is a major part of the pressure relieving system for hydrocarbon processing plants. The flare system consists of a number of pipes and complicated connection systems. Decision of pipe support types is important since the load on the support and the stress in the pipe are influenced by the pipe support type. In this study, we optimally determined the pipe support types that minimized the support cost while satisfying the design constraints on maximum support load, maximum nozzle load and maximum pipe stress ratio. Performance indices included in the design constraints for a specified design were evaluated by pipe structural analysis using CAESAR II. Since pipe support types were all discrete design variables, an evolutionary algorithm (EA) was used as an optimizer. We successfully obtained the optimal solution that reduced the support cost by 27.2% compared to the initial support cost while all the design requirements were satisfied.
This paper describes the design and integration of the wind-fuel cell hybrid system. The hybrid system components included a wind turbine, an electrolyzer (for generation of H2), a PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell), hydrogen storage tank and BOP (Balance of Plant) system. The energy input is entirely provided by a wind turbine. A DC-DC converter controls the power input to the electrolyzer, which produces hydrogen and oxygen form water. The hydrogen used the fuel for the PEMFC. Hydrogen may be produced and stored in high pressure tank by hydrogen gas booster system. Wind conditions are changing with time of day, season and year. So, wind power is a variable energy source. The main purpose with these WT-FC hybrid system is to store hydrogen by electrolysis of water when wind conditions are good and release the stored hydrog en to supply the fuelcell when wind is low.
After the Uruguay Round, Korean agriculture industry has been protected and reared with government grants. However, until now there has been very minimal development to establish a solid export industry which can make the most of the trade agreements in place. There has been much research on ways to expand agricultural exports in order to respond properly to this ever changing environment and sustainable agricultural industry. As all other export industries, an efficient logistics network is paramount in order to allow the agricultural industry to respond to changes in demand and penetrate global markets. The lack of systematic logistics activities such as packaging, transportation, unloading, storage, and information transfer in farms has been a major factor in the inefficiency of the agricultural industry resulting in minimal development. From this perspective, 3PL was proposed and applied as a way to build on the streamlining of export of agricultural logistics system. The Agri 3PL is considered as an efficient agricultural exports method as a new concept connecting producers with exporters.
In this paper, the design method of asynchronous nonvolatile memory module that can efficiently process and store large amounts of data without loss when the power turned off is proposed and implemented. PSRAM, which takes advantage of DRAM and SRAM, was used for data processing, and NAND flash memory was used for data storage and backup. The problem of a lot of signal interference due to the characteristics of memory devices was solved through PCB design using high-density integration technology. In addition, a boost circuit using the super capacitor of 0.47F was designed to supply sufficient power to the system during the time to back up data when the power is off. As a result, an asynchronous nonvolatile memory module was designed and implemented that guarantees reliability and stability and can semi-permanently store data for about 10 years. The proposed method solved the problem of frequent data loss in industrial sites and presented the possibility of commercialization by providing convenience to users and managers.

Tissue microarray (TMA) is an array-based technology allowing the examination of hundreds of tissue samples on a single slide. To handle, exchange, and disseminate TMA data, we need standard representations of the methods used, of the data generated, and of the clinical and histopathological information related to TMA data analysis. This study aims to create a comprehensive data model with flexibility that supports diverse experimental designs and with expressivity and extensibility that enables an adequate and comprehensive description of new clinical and histopathological data elements. We designed a Tissue Microarray Object Model (TMA-OM). Both the Array Information and the Experimental Procedure models are created by referring to Microarray Gene Expression Object Model, Minimum Information Specification For In Situ Hybridization and Immunohistochemistry Experiments (MISFISHIE), and the TMA Data Exchange Specifications (TMA DES). The Clinical and Histopathological Information model is created by using CAP Cancer Protocols and National Cancer Institute Common Data Elements (NCI CDEs). MGED Ontology, UMLS and the terms extracted from CAP Cancer Protocols and NCI CDEs are used to create a controlled vocabulary for unambiguous annotation. We implemented a web-based application for TMA-OM, supporting data export in XML format conforming to the TMA DES or the DTD derived from TMA-OM. TMA-OM provides a comprehensive data model for storage, analysis and exchange of TMA data and facilitates model-level integration of other biological models.
Logistics is by no means a new subject area. The concept of logistics goes way become more complex as technology advances, and logistics requirements have increased accordingly. In 1964, when ILS philosophy formally came into being, ILS was defined in general terms and did not describe what actions an ILS program should accomplish. ILS philosophy have been developed from 1964 through 1980. In 1982, United States Department of Defense formulated a new concept, CALS. CALS is the strategy that the US defense development to management the transition to integration and automated interchange in defense system engineering, manufacturing, and logistic support. Its goal is to use the inherent features of digitized data to revolutionize the function of data -gathering, data storage and data - transfer techologies associared with the development of defense systems. The Result will be systems that are cheaper, more reliable, and easier to maintain. To define CALS's character, the purpose of this papers compare two concepts - CALS and ILS. The elements of CALS consist of standads and EDI. The elements of ILS include LCC(Life Cycle Cost), LSA(Logistics Support Analysis), LSAR(Logistics Support Analysis Rcord), Aquisition Cycle.
The purpose of this study was to grasp major elements and actual condition of apartment unit remodeling by in-depth interviews on residents and specialists. The interviews had been conducted to interior designers who have a wide experience of apartment remodeling and residents who live in recently remodeled apartment unit. In-depth interview is a kind of qualitative method in which attention to reply of responses with open-access between interviewer and respondents. According to the results, remodeling elements were generally changing of lighting fixtures and finishing materials in the all spaces, integration of balcony into children's room, installation of furniture in kitchen and entrance, changing storage furnitures and equipments in bathroom. Artificial lighting method were selected generally whole lighting. Finishing materials were used ordinary (non environmentally-friendly) wallpaper and adhesion and tempered floor. There were unsatisfied factors after remodeling, these were dissatisfaction of design, construction defects, and stink of reflecting 'sick house'. Also they responded that they should be considering to use environmentally-friendly material at next remodeling.
Recently the Korean government announced its decision to select the $3^{rd}$ proposal, which targets reducing $CO_2$ by 37% of the BAU level by 2030, for the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC). According to this proposal, natural gas (or equivalent gas) combined cycle (NGCC) are suggested as alternatives for conventional pulverized coal (PC). In this study, we analyzed the environmental, economic, and energy mixing aspects of synthetic natural gas combined cycle(SNGCC) using NETL material (2011~2012 version) and other domestic materials (2014 version). We found the following conclusions: 1) Considering carbon capture and storage (CCS) integration, $CO_2$ emission factors of SNGCC and supercritical PC are the same. However, 60% of $CO_2$ from SNGCC is produced as high pressure and high purity (99%) gas, making it highly suitable for CCS, which is now strongly supported by the government. 2) Based on the economic analysis for SNGCC using domestic materials and comparison with NGCC, it was found that the settlement price of SNGCC was 30% lower than that of NGCC.
Distributed energy resources (DERs) are essential for coping with growing multiple energy demands. A microgrid (MG) is a small-scale version of the power system which makes possible the integration of DERs as well as achieving maximum demand-side management utilization. Hence, this study focuses on the analysis of optimal power dispatch considering economic aspects in a multi-carrier microgrid (MCMG) with price-responsive loads. This paper proposes a novel time-based demand-side management in order to reshape the load curve, as well as preventing the excessive use of energy in peak hours. In conventional studies, energy consumption is optimized from the perspective of each infrastructure user without considering the interactions. Here, the interaction of energy system infrastructures is considered in the presence of energy storage systems (ESSs), small-scale energy resources (SSERs), and responsive loads. Simulations are performed using GAMS (General Algebraic modeling system) to model MCMG, which are connected to the electricity, natural gas, and district heat networks for supplying multiple energy demands. Results show that the simultaneous operation of various energy carriers, as well as utilization of price-responsive loads, lead to better MCMG performance and decrease operating costs for smart distribution grids. This model is examined on a typical MCMG, and the effectiveness of the proposed model is proven.
As the compact and easily accessible handheld devices, such as cellular phones and MP3 players equipped with image acquisition functionality, are becoming widely available among common users, various applications of images are rapidly increasing. Image related services and software such as web-based image presentation and image manipulation for personal or commercial purpose enable users to view contents of remote image archive and to manipulate enormous amount of images in local or network based storage as well. It is necessary for users to identify the images efficiently so that the same images are perceived as one physical entity instead of recognizing them as different images as the trends are getting stronger. In order to support this environment, we propose a method that generates image identifiers or indexing for images within a solid and efficient manner. The proposed image identifier utilizes multiple index values. The integration of component index values creates a unique composite value that can be used as a file name, file system identifier, or database index. Our experimental results on generation of constituent index values have shown favorable results.
