放射性 폐기물의 전기화학적 분해 폐액으로부터 銀의 回收 (Recovery of Silver from the Spent Solution Generated from Electrochemical Oxidation of Radioactive Wastes)

  • 방사성 유기 혼합폐기물의 저온 분해공정인 MEO(Mediated Electrochemical Oxidation) 공정에서 발생하는 폐액으로부터 Ag를 화학적으로 회수하는 연구를 수행하였다. 고농도 질산용액과 함에 존재하는 $AgNO_3$를 HCl과 반응시켜 AgCl 침전물로 회수하였다. 이 때 HCl 최적 반응 당량비는 $AgNO_3$비해 1% 초과하였으며 100% 침전시킬 수 있었다. AgCl은 알카리 분위기에서 과산화수소와 반응시켜 순수 Ag금속으로 환원됨을 알 수 있었고, Ag금속의 환원 반응시 용액의 pH는 12.8~13.0의 범위가 적당하였다.

Sol-gel법에 의한 반강유전성 PbZrO3 박막 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study of Preparation of Antiferroelectric PbZrO3 Thin Films by Sol-Gel Processing)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 lead zirconate 박막을 sol-gel 법으로 제작하는데 있어 Pb와 Zr의 혼합비에 따라 결정의 형성에 있어서 변화와 이에 따른 결정의 성장 선호 방향을 조사하였다. 기판으로는 Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si를 사용하였으며, 결정 형성을 위한 온도는 $800^{\circ}C$로 1분간 유지하였다. Pb가 부족할 경우는 <221>방향으로의 성장이 두드러지고, Pb가 화학당량적 비를 만족한 이후는 <100>와 <221>이 같이 성장하게 된다. 그러나 이들은 모두 반강유전체로서의 특성을 나타내지만 뚜렷한 domain switching을 나타내지는 않는다.

(TlPbBi)-(SrBa)-Ca-Cu-O superconducting films obtained by electrodeposition process

  • We have performed the electrochemical method to fabricate high temperature superconducting (TlPbBi) -(SrBa)-Ca-Cu-O films. The precursors of the superconducting sample were codeposited at a periodic pulsed-potential cycle (1 second at -4V and 1 second at -1V) on a silver substrate. The variation of structure, microstructure and element were analysed by ICP and SEM techniques. The specimens were consisted predominantly of the Tl-1212 phase and have a transition temperature of 80~87 K in low magnetic field. It was showed that each grain has the stoichiometric ratio of $T1_{0.7}$Pb_$Bi_{0.3}$ $_Sr{0.1}$ $Ba_{2.4}$ $Ca_{0.2}$ $Cu_{1.2}$ $2.5/O_{x}$ by EDX analysis.sis.

흡기포트 분사식 LPG 엔진의 연료량 제어 및 연소 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Combustion Characteristics and the Control on the Fuel Flow Rate of LPG Intake Port Injection Engine)

  • In this paper, characteristics of a port injection type LPG fuel system were investigated to adopt the system to a spark ignition engine through rig test. Engine combustion characteristics for limited conditions and the precise control method of LPG fuel supply were also studied. As a basic experiment, the effects and the relationships of parameters such as orifice area, fuel delivery pressure, fuel temperature and flow coefficient were established. From this, one dimensional compressible flow equation can be applied to control gaseous fuel flow rate by setting pressure difference between vaporizer and manifold to a certain range, for example about 1.2 bar in a naturally aspirated engine. The combustion analysis results of LPG engine were also compared with those of gasoline engine according to spark timing and load change. At part load and stoichiometric condition, the MBT spark timing of LPG fueled engine is retarded by 2$^{\circ}$ - 4$^{\circ}$CA compared to that of gasoline engine. On the contrary, the spark timing of LPG fueled engine can be advanced by 5$^{\circ}$- 10$^{\circ}$ CA at WOT, which results from higher Octane Number and burned fraction of LPG fuel compared to gasoline.

Evolution pathway of CZTSe nanoparticles synthesized by microwave-assisted chemical synthesis

  • In this study we present the reaction mechanism of $Cu_2ZnSnSe_4$ (CZTSe) nanoparticles synthesized by microwave-assisted chemical synthesis. We performed reactions every 10 minutes in order to identify different phases during quaternary CZTSe formation. The powder samples were analyzed by x-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that in the first minutes copper phases are predominant, then copper and tin secondary phases react to form ternary phase. The quaternary phase is formed at 50 minutes while ternary and secondary phases are consumed. At 60 minutes pure quaternary CZTSe phase is present. After 60 minutes the quaternary phase decomposes in the previous ternary and secondary phases, which indicates that 60 minutes is ideal reaction time. The EDS analysis of pure quaternary nanocrystals (CZTSe) showed stoichiometric relations similar to the reported research in the literature, which falls in the range of Cu/(Zn+Sn): 0.8-1.0, Zn/Sn: 1.0-1.20. In conclusion, the evolution pathway of CZTSe synthesized by this novel method is similar to other synthesis methods reported before. Nanoparticles synthesized in this study present desirable properties in order to use them in solar cell and photoelectrochemical cell applications.

  • We prepared $LiCo_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_2$ by reacting stoichiometric mixture of LiOH.$H_2O$, $CoCO_3$.$xH_2O$ and $Ni(OH)_2$(mole ratio respectively) and heating at $850^{\circ}C$ for 5n. In the result of X-ray diffraction analysis, along fluctuation of the function of x in $LiCo_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_2$(003) peak and (104) peak indensities and ratio were varied. We awared through XRD that from 0 to 0.5 at x in $LiCo_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_2$ is well formed for hexagonal structure at one step heat treatment($850^{\circ}C$), but if Ni involve at $LiCo_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_2$ hexagonal structure is not well formed. In the result of charge/discharge tests charge/discharge capacity and effiency is different about various cathode. Therefore, the appropriate charge/discharge method must be selected for good characteristics.

  • In the present study, we fabricated stoichiometric $(Ba_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$ thin films at various substrate temperature and contents using of magnetron sputtering method on optimized Pt-based electrodes (Pt/TiN/$SiO_2$/Si). The substate temperature deposited at 200[ $^{\circ}C$], 400[$^{\circ}C$] and 600[$^{\circ}C$] and crystalline BST thin films show above 400[$^{\circ}C$]. Also, the composition of $(Ba_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$ thin films deposited on Si wafer substrate at 400[$^{\circ}C$] were closed to stoichiometry($1.015{\sim}1.093$ in A/B ratio), but compositional deviation from a stoichiometry is larger as $SrCO_3$ is added. The drastic decrease of dielectric constant and increase of dielectric loss in $(Ba_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$thin films is observed above 100[kHz]. V-I characteristics of $(Ba_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$ thin films show the decrease of leakage current with the increase of $SrCO_3$ contents.

  • A fundamental study was developed concerning the novel solvent extraction of the tetravalent metal ions; zirconium(IV), hafnium(IV) and thorium(IV). Their extraction behavior in toluene was investigated with a recently synthesized naphthol-derivative Schiff base, 1-({[4-(4-{[(E)-1-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)methyliden]amino}phenoxy) phenyl]imino}methyl)-2-naphthol (HAPMN). The spectrophotometrical examination of the complex formation between HAPMN and the Zr(IV), Hf(IV) and Th(IV) ions in acetonitrile revealed the formation of stable 1:1 complexes in the solution. After the thorium extraction in toluene, it was found that [Th(OH)3HA] was the respective deriving substance. While, in the case of zirconium and hafnium extraction, the extracted adduct was found to be [M4(OH)8(H2O)16Cl62HA]. The stoichiometric coefficients of these extracted species were determined by the slope analysis method. The extraction reaction followed a cation exchange mechanism.

$CdIn_2S_4$ 에피레이어 성장과 특성 (Growth and Characterization for $CdIn_2S_4/GaAs$ Epilayers)

  • A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $CdIn_2S_4$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $CdIn_2S_4$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by hot wall epitaxy(HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $630^{\circ}C$ and $420^{\circ}C$ respectively. The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CdIn_2S_4$ single crystal thin films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.01{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$ and $219\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. From the optical absorption measurement, the temperature dependence of energy band gap on $CdIn_2S_4$ single crystal thin films was found to be $E_g(T)\;=\;2.7116\;eV\;-\;(7.74{\times}10^{-4}\;eV)T^2/(T+434)$. After the as-grown $CdIn_2S_4$ single crystal thin films was annealed in Cd-, S-, and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of $CdIn_2S_4$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by the photoluminescence(PL) at 10 K.

Analysis of Diesel Combustion Flames with Highly Oxygenated Fuels

  • With highly oxygenated fuels the smoke emissions decreased sharply and linearly with increases in the fuel oxygen content and entirely disappeared at an oxygen content of $38wt-\%$ even at stoichiometric mixture conditions The NOx also decreased monotonically with increases in oxygen content. and thermal efficiency slightly improved because of a reduction in cooling loss and improvement in the degree of constant volume combustion. The mechanisms of the significant reductions in emissions and improvement in engine performance were analyzed with a bottom view type DI diesel engine. Together with direct flame images, flame images were taken through an optical fetter passing only two wavelengths for use in 2-D two-color analysis. The results showed that luminous flame decreased significantly with increases in oxygen content and was not detected for neat dimethoxy methane(DMM). The decrease in flame luminosity with highly oxygenated fuels corresponds with decreases in soot and cooling losses, including those due to heat radiation. The 2-D two-color flame analysis indicated that the high temperature flame and high KL factor areas apparently decreased with increasing fuel oxygen content. These results correspond strongly with decreases in NOx. smoke. and cooling loss with increases in oxygen content.
