Pipe spool is the most important element of plant equipment in plant construction site. Currently, the plant construction site manage the pipe spool location and usage history by handwriting. Frequently, the pipe spool is moved to unpredictable places by field workers in many construction sites and in cases like this, the pipe stool is replaced with another similar pipe spool. Since it's hard to determine the exact location of some of the pipe spools, it takes unnecessary time and labour to find the missing pipe spools, which proves that stock management is not under control. The purpose of our system is to make the identification of real-time location of the field pipes possible by attaching UHF RFID tags to the pipe spool, which will be used to connect with UHF RFID reader and antenna on vehicles. A field test conducted by the proposed system resulted in the success rate of 98% and the missing 2% was recuperated by hands-on correction, which proved that stock management through the proposed method can be 100% effective. The proposed system is expected to reduce labour costs and make stock control of assets possible, as well as applicable to similar stock management environments.

In order to cultivate watermelon on farm, grafting of the watermelon seedling to the watermelon stock is necessary because the watermelon root is less viable than the root of watermelon stock. Recently, commercially important watermelon varieties further require a resistant stock against especially CGMMV to control the heavy loss of the total yield of watermelon by CGMMV infection. Therefore, we have set out a project to develop a CGNEMV-resistant watermelon stock. We have successfully transformed dozens of watermelon stocks (gongdae) during last two years especially using a cDNA encoding the coat protein of CGMMV (cucumber green mottle mosaic virus). Recently we have tested levels of resistance of those watermelon stocks against CGMMV infection. For CGMMV inoculation, the leaves of one month old gongdae (T1) were rubbed by carborundum mixed with the CGMMV. A total of 140 plants (T1) were exposed to the CGMMV and we found that ten plants were completely resistant to virus infection. This is the first report that by genetic engineering a cucubitaceae crop resistant to CGMMV infection is ever developed. Further information will be provided in the poster.
This study was carried out to investigate effects of stock plant management and foliar spray of GA on the flower quality in hydroponically grown chrysanthemum 'Shinma'. In the growth and development as affected by stock plant management, cut flower length, petal number and cut flower weight were the best in the plot of long day and chilling treatment showed 114 cm, 298 and 102 g, respectively. Chlorophyll content(SPAD-value) was the highest in the plot of foliar spray of diluted Molbia(1 : 500). Flower quality according to concentration and spray time of gibberellin showed a different pattern. Cut flower length was the longest in the plot of solution diluted to 1 : 1,000 spraying before flowering at 60 days, petal number was the most in 1 : 500 at 60 days, and cut flower weight was the heaviest in 1 : 2,000 at 60 days, respectively. However, peduncle length was tended to be elongated with foliar spray of gibberellin solution diluted to 1 : 500 or 1 : 1,000 before flowering at 45 days.

To protect the plant against several soil-borne pathogens, we are currently constructing disease-resistant transgenic root stock for the growth of cucurbitaceae vegetable plants, watermelon and gourd. We made a watermelon cDNA library from Cladosporium cucumerinum-Infected leaves for substractive hybriazation and differential screening. We isolated the several pathogen inducible cDNA clones, such as caffeoyl-CoA-methyltransferase, LAA induced protein, receptor-like kinase homolog, hydroxyproline-rich glycoprotein, catalase, calmodulin binding protein, mitochondrial ATPase beta subunit, methyl tRNA synthetase and WRKY transcription factors. We previously obtained CaMADS in pepper and galactinol synthase ( CsGolS) in cucumber that were confirmed to be related with disease-resistance. CaMADS and CsGolS2 were transformed into the inbred line 'GO701-2' gourd, the inbred line '6-2-2' watermelon and the Kong-dye watermelon by Agrobacterium tumerfaciens LBA4404. Plant growth regulators (zeatin, BAP and IAA) were used for shoot regeneration and root induction for optimal condition. Putative transgenic plants were selected in medium containing 100mg/L kanamycin and integration of the CaMADS and CsGO/S2 into the genomic DNA were demonstrated by the PCR analysis. We isolated major soil-borne pathogens, such as Monosporascus cannonballus, Didymella bryoniae, Cladosporium cuvumerinum from the cultivation area of watermelon or root stock, and successfully established artificial inoculation method for each pathogen. This work was supported by a grant from BioGreen 21 program, Rural Development Administration, Republic of Korea.

Since 1966 tissue culture has been used as a tool for the production of disease indexed stocks from selected plants and their rapid (clonal) mass propagation through the procedure now referred to as micropropagation. The major advantages have been the rapid introduction of new plant cultivars, created within conventional and mutation breeding programmes, as healthy stock for beneficial distribution and the expansion of the world wide horticultural industry. The original plant for a medicine, Forsythia collected from Wui-Sung country, Kyungsangpuk-do, Korea, was identified as Forsythia viridissima by its characteristic greenish bark and clearly square stem as observed from the culture works at the Forest Experiment Station of Sung Kyung Kwan University. F. viridissima, an indigenic plant of China, is believed to be introduced to Korea as a nursary stock or brought by seeds sometime in the past. In Korea at present two other species of Forsythia, namely, F. suspensaa and F. japonica have also been cultured besides F. viridissima as an ornamental.
This study was carried out to evaluate the agronomic characteristics and biological activities of $Sorghum$$bicolor$ germplasms introduced from USA. Plant height, stem diameter, tiller number, leaf length, leaf width, leaf vein color, ear type, ear length and ear width have different from the cultivated accessions. Sweet-N-Sterile (#4) showed the tallest height, widest ear-width and stem diameter. Most of $Sorghum$$bicolor$ plants may be available to use for bio-energy from these results showing big biomass. Antioxidant activities of 11 cultivars collected from USA were examined by DPPH assay and reducing power. Among the cultivars, Premium stock (#1), Early Sumac (#7), SS Silage (#9) and WGF Grain Sorghum (#11) showed a significantly higher antioxidant activity in comparison to others. Early Sumac (#7) and SS silage (#9) showed more strong reducing power activities than ${\alpha}$-tocopherol, a positive control. Premium stock (#1), Sweet-N-Sterile (#4), Early Sumac (#7) and SS Silage (#9) were also showed high antioxidant activities by DPPH assay and reducing power experiment. BMR Gold I (#3) displayed strong antimicrobial activity against $Escherichia$$coli$ at minimum inhibitory concentrations (125 ${\mu}g$/ml).
This study was conducted to determine the effect of seedling and division nursery stock size on the growth and yield of Wasabia japonica cultivated with cold water from Soyang Dam. As seedling and division nursery stock size were enlarged, their growth and yield were higher. In the case of division nursery stock, the rhizome yield per 10a were 782kg for large one, 723kg form medium one and 567kg for small one, and commercial rates - the percentage of rhizomes that weigh over 40g - were 87% for large one,80% for medium one and 55% for small one. In the case of seedling, large one brought out yield of 575kg/10a while medium and small one brought out low yield of 408kg/10a, and 421kg/10a, respectively. And the commercial rates from seedling were 60% for large one. 13% for medium one and 20% for small one.

Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3(GLRaV-3) is one of the most severe pathogens for viral diseases found in Korea. This study was conducted to establish the virus-free stock production system for the virus disease control. The effects of thermotherapy, merestem culture and chemotheratpy to eliminate the GLRaV-3 in gratevines were tested. Thermotherapy at 37$\pm$2$^{\circ}C$ for 6∼8 weeks combined with 0.5∼1.0mm size of meristem culture method was the most effective for virus elimination. Thermotherapy alone was not effective. In chemotheratpy, DHT and Amantadine (20, 40mg/L) treatment in medium was more effective than Ribavirin to eliminate the GLRaV-3 in grapevine. However, Ribavirin spraying to potted was not available for virus elimination. Therefore, virus-free stock production system using the thermotherapy combined with shoot apical meristem culture was the most effective in grapevine.
