Development of Driving Simulator Based on Washout Algorithm with Fuzzy Logic (퍼지에 기초한 워시아웃 알고리듬을 적용한 주행 시뮬레이터의 개발)

  • In the virtual environment, reality can be enhanced by offering the motion based on a motion simulator in harmony with visual and auditory modalities. In this research, the Stewart platform based motion simulator has been developed. This motion simulator is driven by the electric motors, and offers the slightly wider workspace compared to the commercial available simulators. In order to compensate for the limited range of the motion platform, the washout filters with fixed coefficients have been usually adopted. In this paper the new approach is proposed to tune the filter coefficients based on the fuzzy logic on the real-time basis. It is shown that performance with the variable filter coefficients is better than that with the fixed ones. The driving simulator based on the bicycle dynamics was developed by integrating the motion simulator and graphic system.

  • Vehicle driving simulators have been used in the development and modification of models. A simulator can reduce cost and time through a variety of driving simulations in the laboratory. Recently, driving simulators have begun to proliferate in the automotive industry and the associated research community. This paper presents the hardware and software developed for a driving simulator of construction vehicles. This effor involves the real-time dynamic analysis of wheel-type excavator, the design and manufacturing of the Stewart platform, an integrated control system of the platform, and three-dimensional graphic modeling of the driving environments.

  • This paper describes the kinematics which is a new type of parallel manipulator, and the neural network is applied to solving the forward kinematics problem. The parallel manipulator called it as a Stewart platform has an easy and unique solution about the inverse kinematics. However, the forward kinematics is difficult to get a solution because of the lack of an efficient algorithm caused by its highly nonlinearity. This paper proposes the neural network scheme of an Newton-Raphson method alternatively. It is found that the neural network can be improved its accuracy by adjusting the offset of the obtained result.

  • The statics relation of the Stewart platform has been investigated from the viewpoint of the forward and inverse force transmission analyses. Two eigenvalue problems corresponding to the forward and inverse force transmission analyses have been formulated. The forward force transmission analysis is to determine the ranges of the magnitudes of the force and moment generated at the end-effector for the given magnitude of linear actuator forces. In reverse order, the inverse force transmission analysis is to find the range of the magnitude of actuator forces for the given ranges of the magnitudes of the force and moment at the end-effector. The inverse force transmission analysis is important since it can provide a designer with a valuable information about how to choose the linear actuators. It has been proved that two eigenvalue problems have a reciprocal relation, which implies that solving either of the eigenvalue problems may complete the forward/inverse force transmission analysis. A numerical example has been also presented.

  • 가상현실에 대한 인간의 감성인자를 고려한 재현용 시스템들은 컴퓨터 및 주변장치의 발달과 더불어 다각적인 방향으로 개발되었다. 가상현실의 환경을 조성하기 위해서는 인간의 감성인자들에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 이러한 가상현실 환경에서의 인간의 감성인자들 중 인체의 운동 감성인자를 연구하여, 가상현실의 운동 환경을 가장 효과적으로 재현할 수 있도록 하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 즉 가상현실 환경에서의 운동감을 야기시키는 운동시스템 운동판의 최적의 운동을 발생시킬 운동명령을 생성하는 워시아웃 알고리즘(Washout Algorithm)의 물리적 특성을 연구하고, 워시아웃 알고리즘 내부의 고역필터들의 계수 의미를 파악하여 워시아웃 알고리즘에 의해 생성된 운동명령을 최선의 운동명령으로 보정키 위한 방법을 연구하고자 하였다.

  • The Six Degree-of-Freedom manipulators are generally operated by linear actuators which are hydraulic cylinder, pneumatic cylinder, ball-screw. But these actuators are not adequate to have a wide work-space, and furthermore some of them have a self-locking property. Therfore, we have designed a new manipulator which fully overcomes these demerits. The new manipulating system consists of 6 DC-motors to generate operation forces and 6 position transducers to feedback displacement signals. This paper presents an overview of the design and characteristics of 6 Degree-of-Freedom force feedback manipulators for vitual reality implementation. we can operate Six Degree-of-Freedom manipulator with six motors and six potentiometers.

  • 현재 게임시장에서는 사용자가 직접 게임을 체험하는 체감형 게임기가 활발히 개발되고 있다. 대다수의 제품들은 운동을 재현하기 위하여 6개의 축으로 이루어진 Stewart 형의 모션 플랫폼을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구개발에서 시도되고 있는 게임기는 모션이 가미된 콘솔형 아케이드 시뮬레이션 게임기에 해당되는데, 인간의 감성인자중 운동감성에 바탕을 둔 운동 재현을 고려하여 워시아웃(Washout) 알고리즘을 적용하였고, 일반적으로 6개의 축으로 구현하는 운동 자유도를 짐발(Gimbal)형으로 재현하고자 하였다. 또한 실시간 스케줄러와 H/W 입출력 및 통신 드라이버에 대한 개발을 수행하였으며, 게임용 실시간 시뮬레이션에 적합한 정확도와 실시간성을 유지하도록 롤러코스터 상에서 이루어지는 차량운동이 모델링 되었다. 특히, 연구사례를 찾기 어려운 짐발형 운동판에 대한 워시아웃 필터를 시뮬레이터 탑승자의 감성공학적 특성을 반영할 수 있도록 설계하였다.

  • As the life cycle of the vehicle become shorter, the method that reduce the development time of new model become more important. In this reason, the development of the simulator that provides similar environment with the actual vehicle road characteristics is increasing. In this paper, the multi-axis simulator is designed and analyzed by kinematic method. The simulator has a function simulating the 3 load elements; vertical, longitudinal, and lateral force respectively and simultaneously. The result of this paper can be used for developing the multi-axis simulator linkage.

  • Test in the development of vehicle consist of driving test and simulation test. The last one has many advantages. It can reduce time and cost during development, can overcome the spacial and environmental limitation, and can provides repeatabilities of similar experiments and various data. In these reason, the simulation test is used more for analysis and development of new vehicle. In this research the result of kinematic analysis on multi-axis simulator is compared with the simulated result using dynamic analysis program, ADAMS, and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

  • This paper presents the development of a Parallel-Typed CNC Machining Tool. It is specially designed to machine a complex shaped workpiece by controlling the orientation of the tool. The inverse/direct kinematics of a parallel mechanism is derived and implemented in a PC based controller. With graphics icons, the GUI (Graphic User Interface) program is developed for the CNC programing. The calibration is accomplished by geometric constraint motion, which is a parallel motion of the platform with respect to a table. The calibration result is introduced and the future study is proposed.
