  • Saponins are glycosidic compounds present in many edible and inedible plants. Structurally, they are composed of a lipid-soluble aglycone consisting of either a sterol or, more commonly, a triterpenoid and water-soluble sugar residues differing in type and amount of sugars [1]. Because of their amphiphilic nature, they are highly surface-active. Their biological activity is closely related to the chemical structures that determine the polarity, hydrophobicith and acidity of compounds [1]. (omitted)

  • From the roots of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannfeldt (Campanulaceae), ${\alpha}$-spinasterol, mp $165{\sim}7^{\circ}$ and alpha-spinasteryl D-glucoside, mp $283{\sim}5^{\circ}$, were isolated and identified on the basis of chemical and spectral data. Spectral data showed that $\Delta^7-stigmasterol$ and its glucoside were contained as minor components.

  • 미더덕의 스테롤 조성을 가스크로마토그라피로 분석한 결과 22-트란스-24-놀 코레스타-22-디엔-$3\beta$-올이 $1.3\%$, 22-데하이드로콜레스테롤이 $5.1\%$ 콜레스테롤이 $33.1\%$, 브라시카스테롤이 $26.2\%$, 24-메칠렌콜레스테롤 $13.1\%$, 스티그마스테이 $7.1\%$, $\beta$-시토스테롤이 $10.9\%$, 푸코스테롤이 $3.1\%$였다.

  • The chloroform extract of Pulicaria gnaphalodes yielded flavonoids (1-2), sesquiterpenoid (3), sterol (4), benzoic acid derivative (5) and fatty acids (6-7). Their structures were elucidated with the aid of NMR spectroscopy. The described compounds have not been reported so far from this source.

  • The lipid classes constituents; hydrocarbons, wax esters, sterol esters, triacylglycerols, free fatty acids, 1,3-diacylglycerols, 1,2-diacylglycerols, free sterols, 2-monoacylglycerols, 1-monoacylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamines, phosphatidylcholines, lysophosphatidylethanolamines and phosphatidylinositols of Nicotiana tabacum L. seeds oil were investigated by thin layer and gas chromatography. Palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids were the major components in all lipid classes studied.

  • 이온교환 크로마토그라피와 젤 여과법으로 연어알에서 carotenoprotein을 충분히 정제하였다. CHCls/MeOH (211)용매로 지질 성분을 추출한 후, Sephadex G-25로 정제하고 silicic acid 컬럼으로 분획하여 중성지질, 당지질, 인지질 그리고 콜레스테롤의 량을 각각 정량하였다. T.L.C.와 HPLC로 개별 성분을 분리, 정량한 결과 중성지질은 tripalmitate와 cholesteryl oleate로 구성되었고, 당지질은 esterified steryglycoside와 소량의 cerebroside, 인지질은 p.c, co, lp.c 및 p.e로 구성 되었음을 밝혔다. 결합당 성분으로서는 galactose만이 검출되었다. 지방산은 palmitate와 oleate가 대부분이었으며, 6종류의 sterol성분을 분리 확인하였다. 지질과 결합된 단백질의 아미노산도 분석하여 이들로부터 carotenoprotein의 본성을 추론하였다.
