In order to shoot underwater, the photographer must be equipped with shooting equipment and enter into the water. Since the photographer directly enters the water, safety accidents occur frequently due to various obstacles or deep water in the water. The proposed underwater stereo photography technique can solve the safety accident problem caused by the entry of the photographer into the water by using the drone for underwater photographing. In addition, this technique has the advantage of obtaining underwater images at low cost. In this study, the angle of the proposed cam for stereoscopic photography was analyzed and the condition that the proper stereoscopic image can be viewed was defined as the distance from the floor of 18cm to the floor distance of 41.4cm. This provision is proposed to be used to adjust the height of the shooting area descended by the elevation chain of the water surface hovering drones.

3D stereoscopic viewing of large scale imagery, such as aerial photography and satellite images, needs different parallaxes relative to the display scale. For example, when a viewer sees a stereoscopic image of aerial photography, the optimal parallax of its zoom-in image should be smaller than that of its zoom-out. Therefore, relative parallax adjustment according to the display scale is required. Merely adjusting the spacing between stereo images is not appropriate because the depths of the whole image are either exaggerated or reduced entirely. This paper focuses on the improving stereoscopic viewing with a single remote sensing image and a digital surface model (DSM). We present the parallax adjustment technique to maximize the 3D realistic effect and the visual comfort. For remote sensing data, DSM height value can be regarded as disparity. There are two possible kinds of methods to adjust the relative parallax with a single image performance. One is the DSM compression technique: the other is an adjustment of the distance between the original image and its stereo-mate. In our approach, we carried out a test to evaluate the optimal distance between a single remote sensing image and its stereo-mate, relative to the viewing scale. Several synthetic stereo-mates according to certain viewing scale were created using a parallel projection model and their anaglyphs were estimated visually. The occlusion of the synthetic stereo-mate was restored by the inpainting method using the fields of experts (FoE) model. With the experiments using QuickBird imagery, we could obtain stereoscopic images with optimized parallax at varied display scales.

An experimental method for measuring side-necking deformation near a crack-tip is described. It is based on Stereoscopic Digital Speckle Photography and Digital Image Correlation, and it is simple and robust to mechanical vibration inherent to a hydraulic material test system. The validity and accuracy are evaluated through a calibration fur rigid body translation. A case study has been performed for a CT specimen made of a ductile steel and the three dimensional profiles of the side-necked region are presented as the load increases. Also, the details of the procedure and the surface treatment are discussed.
Stereo matching algorithm is an essential part in computer vision and photography. Accuracy and computational complexity are challenges of stereo matching algorithm. Much research has been devoted to stereo matching based on cost volume filtering of matching costs. Local stereo matching based guided image filtering (GIF) has a computational complexity of O(N), but is still not enough to provide real-time 3-dimensional (3-D) video services. The proposed algorithm concentrates reduction of computational complexity using the concept of fast guided image filter, which increase the speed up to $O(N/\small{s}^2)$ with a sub-sampling ratio $\small{s}$. Experimental results indicated that the proposed algorithm achieves effective local stereo matching as well as a fast execution time for 3-D video service.

A plastic zone size is regarded as a measure of material resistance, and also it determines the fracture behavior. The importance of estimating or measuring the plastic zone size cannot be too emphasized. In this article, SDSP(Stereo Digital Speckle Photography) is examined as a new techniques to measure the plastic zone developed in a ductile metal. This technique is simple, vibration free and non-contact, and measures simultaneously in-plane displacements as well as out-of plane displacements like the side necking. Experimental results for a CT specimen are presented to demonstrate the accuracy in comparison with those obtained by recrystallization technique and finite element analysis.

In the post-Cold War era, acquisition technique of high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) has begun to commercialize. IKONOS-2 satellite imaging data is supplied for the first time in the 21st century. Many researchers testified mapping possibility of the HRSI data instead of aerial photography. It is easy to renew and automate a topographical map because HRSI not only can be more taken widely and periodically than aerial photography, but also can be directly supplied as digital image. In this study matching size of IKONOS Geo-level stereo image is presented lot production of digital elevation model (DEM). We applied area based matching method using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images. After matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex non-linear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters (EOPs) to minimize search area, the matching is tarried out based on this line. The experiment on matching size is performed according to land cover property, which is divided off into four areas (water, urban land, forest land and agricultural land). In each of the test areas, window size for the highest correlation coefficient is selected as propel size for matching. As the results of experiment, the proper size was selected as $123{\times}123$ pixels window, $13{\times}13$ pixels window, $129{\times}129$ pixels window and $81{\times}81$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively. Of course, determination of the matching size by the correlation coefficient may be not absolute appraisal method. Optimum matching size using the geometric accuracy therefore, will be presented by the further work.

The subject of this study is to apply experimentally In resolution stereo imagery of IKONOS to producing 1:50,000 scale maps for Munsan area in Paju, being near the Military Demarcation Line, is inaccessible for aerial photography. Ground control points were acquired from GPS surveying to perform geometric corrections on images. Digital maps were produced from IKONOS stereo imagery on the digital photographic workstation. From field investigation, RMS errors of the plane and vertical positions are estimated respectively at $\pm$1.706m and $\pm$1.231m, respectively. These plane and vertical accuracies are within the tolerance limits of those provided in the NGIS Digital Topographic Map Production Rules. Therefore this suggested method is recommended for producing the large scale digital maps of 'No flight' zone near the M.D.L.
Essential to the establishment of such 3D spatial information are the laser scanning technology to obtain high-precision 3D point group data and the photography-metric camera to obtain high-resolution multispectral image information. The photography-metric camera, however, lacks in usability for its broad scope of utilization due to the high purchase price, difficult purchase channel, and low applicability. This study thus set out to investigate a technique to establish multi-dimensional ortho-image data with a single lens reflex digital camera of high speed and easy accessibility for general users. That is, the study remodeled a single lens reflex digital camera and calibrated the remodeled camera to establish 3D multispectral image information, which is the essential data of 3D spatial information. Multi-dimensional ortho-image data were collected by surveying the reference points for stereo photos, taking multispectral shots of the objects, and converting them into ortho-images.

In order to generate database, we need to obtain speedy and corret topographic information according to requisite purpose. Generally methods to an acquisition of topographic information are available by the use of maps, satellite images, stereo models of aerophoto and so forth. But we must choose a optimal method in consideration of area of object region, spatial solution of image, required accuracy and economic. Therefore, this study aims at providing the establish method of efficient topographic data base of small object region by means of spatial layer techniques of geo-spatial information system and using acquisition of geo-information and production method of base map with photoballoon system to obtain topographic information for reasonable plan and design of object region which select a zone preparation of a collective village with small region. As a result of this study, we decided an f-stop and a shutter speed of camera to obtain accurate stereo model and were able to obtain stereo photography and topography for small region by using of photoballoon system through accuracy analysis according to change flight height and air base speedly and economically. We can establish the data base useable to efficient plan and design as existence map with overlay plan drawing.
Watershed boundaries and flow paths within the watershed are the most important factors required in watershed analysis. Most often the derivation of watershed boundaries and stream network and flow paths is based on topographical maps but spatial variation of flow direction is not clearly understandable using this method. Water resources projects currently use 1: 50, 000-scale ground survey or aerial photography-based topographical maps to derive watershed boundary and stream network. In basins, where these maps are not available or not accessible it creates a real barrier to watershed geo-spatial analysis. Such situations require the use of global datasets, like GTOPO30. Global data sets like ETOPO5, GTOPO30 are the only data sets, which can be used to derive basin boundaries and stream network and other terrain variations like slope aspects and flow direction and flow accumulation of the watershed in the absence of topographic maps. Approximately 1-km grid-based GTOPO 30 data sets can derive better outputs for larger basins, but they fail in flat areas like the Karkheh basin in Iran and the Amudarya in Uzbekistan. A new window in geo-spatial hydrology has opened after the launching of the space-borne satellite stereo pair of the Terra ASTER sensor. ASTER data sets are available at very low cost for most areas of the world and global coverage is expected within the next four years. The DEM generated from ASTER data has a reasonably good accuracy, which can be used effectively for hydrology application, even in small basins. This paper demonstrates the use of stereo pairs in the generation of ASTER DEMs, the application of ASTER DEM for watershed boundary delineation, sub-watershed delineation and explores the possibility of understanding the drainage flow paths in irrigation command areas. All the ASTER derived products were compared with GTOPO and 1:50,000-based topographic map products and this comparison showed that ASTER stereo pairs can derive very good data sets for all the basins with good spatial variation, which are equal in quality to 1:50,000 scale maps-based products.
