Though edge detection, an important stage that significantly affecting the performance of image recognition, has been given numerous researches on its execution methods, it still remains as difficult problem and it is one of the components for image recognition applications while it is not the only way to identify an object or track a specific area. This paper, unlike gradient operator using edge detection method, found out edge pixel by referring to 2 neighboring pixels information in binary image and comparing them with pre-defined 4 edge pixels pattern, and detected binary image edge by determining the direction of the next edge detection exploring pixel and proposed method to detect binary image edge by repeating step of edge detection to detect another area edge. When recognizing image, if edge is detected with the use of gradient operator, thinning process, the stage next to edge detection, can be omitted, and with the edge detection algorithm executing time reduced compared with existing area edge tracing method, the entire image recognizing time can be reduced by applying real-time image recognizing system.
This study aims to apply the concept of regulatory stringency to the regulatory sandbox with a fresh perspective. The regulatory sandbox is a system that gives opportunities under certain conditions to new technologies or businesses that have not been launched due to inadequacy or insufficiency in legal systems. Previous research on regulatory sandboxes has mainly focused on discussions about their impact on specific technologies or business domains. This study attention to the results according to the evaluations. Among them, whether special cases for demonstration can evolve into official permission has garnered significant attention. For this study, among the cases that passed the regulatory sandbox evaluation from February, 2019, to December, 2022, 162 cases in the field of ICT convergence were selected. The evaluation results were classified into three groups 'positive interpretation (Fast Track)', 'temporary permission', and 'special case for demonstration.' Each case was assigned to one of the three groups. Through the comparative analysis, the common characteristics and differences were summarized. Then, this study explored improvement measures to pass a less restrictive regulatory sandbox. The analysis of the cases revealed that the differences in each evaluation result were attributed to variations in the technological characteristics and user protection features. Considering these differences, as well as the higher weight and importance of the preparation stage for sandbox application, this study suggested a three-step approach to prepare for temporary permission and positive interpretation rather than special case for demonstration. In addition, this thesis discussed the policy limitations of the regulatory sandbox mechanism in South Korea and the limitations of the current study. Hopefully, the results of this study would be beneficial to individuals and companies, particularly venture companies and startups seeking to develop new technologies or businesses and utilize regulatory sandboxes.
Northeast Asia including China, Japan, Mongolia, Russia, DPRK and ROK, is a geographically close region that falls under the same environmental influence. Recently the region is not only facing serious domestic environmental problems with rapid economic growth, but also confronted with transboundary environmental problems and associated conflicts between countries. Unfortunately, Northeast Asia lacks a solid environmental management system among countries to deal with transboundary and other environmental issues. Transboundary Environmental Impact Assessment (TEIA) can, therefore, be one of the essential systematic measures in which environmental problems between countries would be negotiated. However, it would be necessary to have an indepth discussion of what we have to do first for implementing TEIA system in the region, and how to operate it while customizing each Northeast Asian country with different EIA system and socioeconomic circumstance. All these cannot be decided in a short time, and we need to invest enough time for discussing and considering them from various aspects. Recently, the Korean government declared "Eurasia Initiative". The initiative proposes important developing projects and ultimately plans to build a peaceful community throughout Eurasia based on comprehensive cooperation. The initiative aims to increase exchanges in transportation, energy and agricultural sectors to achieve the goals. In this regard, implementing TEIA in Northeast Asia is urgently needed and we have to prepare the strategy for introducing TEIA mechanism. Based on the results of 10 year experience on TEIA projects conducted since 2004, we suggest double-track approaches for developing TEIA mechanism. We continuously need to make an effort to establish a regional TEIA mechanism that all countries legally join, and simultaneously we also have to prepare a process to carry out TEIA for upcoming projects based on bi- or multi-lateral agreements. Practical solutions such as conducting pilot TEIA with relevant countries and developing TEIA guideline for the region could be the first step.
To reveal the origin of the Chuncheon nephrite deposit, radiogenic isotopes of Sr and Pb, stable isotopes of 0 and H, and rare earth elements concentrations were analyzed. Such geochemical data were integrated to track the stepwise changes during the various ore formation stages. All the samples from the nephrite deposit have significantly low 0 isotopic ratios compared with the marble from which they had been formed, which reflects the very important role of the crustal circulating water with low 6180 and 6D in every stage of ore formation. There were progressive decrease of 6180 and 6D during the genesis of Chuncheon nephrite deposit. Newly formed minerals during the ore formation reveal disequilibrium with existing minerals in the respect of 0 isotope, which suggests that the ore-forming fluid of circulating water origin was involved with significant water-rock ratios in every step of ore formation process. The ore samples have Sr and Pb isotopic ratios similar to the values of Kyeonggi gneiss complex within which the deposit is located, which also suggests the important role of crustal circulating water in the genesis of the deposit. In conclusion, all the geochemical data support that major portion of the ore-forming fluid of Chuncheon nephrite deposit was derived ultimately from the surface water of meteoric origin. The meteoric water supplied Sr and Pb through leaching the rocks surrounding the ore deposits.
An on-line registration technique is presented to register multi-view range images for the 3D reconstruction of real objects. Using a range camera, we first acquire range images and photometric images continuously. In the range images, we divide object and background regions using a predefined threshold value. For the coarse registration of the range images, the centroid of the images are used. After refining the registration of range images using a projection-based technique, we use a modified KLT(Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) tracker to match photometric features in the object images. Using the modified KLT tracker, we can track image features fast and accurately. If a range image fails to register, we acquire new range images and try to register them continuously until the registration process resumes. After enough range images are registered, they are integrated into a 3D model in offline step. Experimental results and error analysis show that the proposed method can be used to reconstruct 3D model very fast and accurately.
The purpose of this study was to examine the smoking-related characteristics of health and non-health related majors and the relationship between the smoking dependence and oral health practice of college students. The subjects in this study were the college students who were selected by convenience sampling from four different universities in the city of Jeonju, North Jeolla Province. The answer sheets from 811 respondents were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: The rate of the smoker students whose major was related to health stood at 20.6 percent, and that of the smoker students whose major was not related to health stood at 29.4%. There were significant differences according to the track of their major (p<0.05). As for links between smoking dependence and a plan to quit smoking, 32.7% of the health-related majors who considered themselves to depend on smoking replied they would give up smoking if there would be a rise in cigarette price (p<0.005), and 37% of the nonhealth related majors who considered themselves to depend on smoking gave the same answer. Thus, the largest group of the students intended to quit smoking if there would be a rise in cigarette price, and there were statistically significant differences according to smoking dependence (p<0.05). Concerning connections between smoking dependence and actual oral health practice, the non-health related majors who didn't consider themselves to depend on smoking got 3.53 in the item whether they brushed their teeth twice or more a day (p<0.05). In conclusion, the development and implementation of systematic programs that are to teach students to stay away from or quit smoking and take care of their oral health regardless of their major are required to step up the oral health promotion of college students.

A particle system is used for modeling the physical phenomenon. There are many traditional ways for simulation modeling which can be well suited for application including the landscapes of branches, clouds, waves, fog, rain, snow and fireworks in the three-dimensional space. In this paper, we present a new fireworks modeling technique for modeling 3D firework based on Firework Particle Tracking (FPT) using the particle system. Our method can track and recognize the launched and exploded particle of fireworks, and extracts relatively accurate 3D positions of the particles using 3D depth values. It can realize 3D simulation by using tracking information such as position, speed, color and life time of the firework particle. We exploit Region of Interest (ROI) for fast particle extraction and the prevention of false particle extraction caused by noise. Moreover, Kalman filter is used to enhance the robustness in launch step. We propose a new fireworks particle tracking method for the efficient tracking of particles by considering maximum moving range and moving direction of particles, and shall show that the 3D speeds of particles can be obtained by finding the rotation angles of fireworks. Also, we carry out the performance evaluation of particle tracking: tracking speed and accuracy for tracking, classification, rotation angle respectively with respect to four types of fireworks: sphere, circle, chrysanthemum and heart.

Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) is caused by SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory SyndromeCoronavirus 2). To date, seven coronaviruses that can infect humans were reported. Among them, infections with four coronavirus strains (HCoV-229E, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-NL63, and HCoV-HKU1) resulted in mild symptoms such as common cold, whereas SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV caused severe symptoms and epidemics in 2002 and 2012, respectively. In the most recent, SARS-CoV-2 was first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and became a notorious cause of the ongoing global pandemics. To diagnose, treat, and prevent COVID-19, the development of rapid and accurate diagnostic tools, specific therapeutic drugs, and safe vaccines essentially are required. In order to develop these powerful tools, it is prerequisite to understand a phenotype, a genotype, and life cycle of SARS-CoV-2. Diagnostic techniques have been developing rapidly around world and many countries take the fast track system to accelerate approval. Approved diagnostic devices are rapidly growing facing to urgent demand to identify carriers. Currently developed commercial diagnostic devices are divided into mainly two categories: molecular assay and serological & immunological assay. Molecular assays begins the reverse transcription step following polymerase chain reaction or isothermal amplification. Immunological assay targets SARS-CoV-2 antigen or anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody of samples. In this review, we summarize the phenotype, genome structure and gene expression of SARS-CoV-2 and provide the knowledge on various diagnostic techniques for SARS-CoV-2.

In the past decade, a paradigm shift from machine-centered to human-centered and from technology-driven to user-driven has been witnessed. Consequently, Social search is getting more social and Social Network Service (SNS) is a popular Web service to connect and/or find friends, and the tendency of users interests often affects his/her who have similar interests. If we can track users' preferences in certain boundaries in terms of Web search and/or knowledge sharing, we can find more relevant information for users. In this paper, we propose a novel Topic Sensitive_Social Relationship Rank (TS_SRR) algorithm. We propose enhanced Web searching idea by finding similar and credible users in a Social Network incorporating social information in Web search. The Social Relation Rank between users are Social Relation Value, that is, for a different topics, a different subset of the above attributes is used to measure the Social Relation Rank. We observe that a user has a certain common interest with his/her credible friends in a Social Network, then focus on the problem of identifying users who have similar interests and high credibility, and sharing their search experiences. Thus, the proposed algorithm can make social search improve one step forward.

Music is composed of the sound of many instruments. Among them, the sound of the human voice naturally stands out to us and immediately connects with the listener. However, A lot of different steps go into perfectly mixing a vocal, but I'm going to focus on the most important step, equalization. In this paper, starting with the concept and the type of EQ for the requirements associated with the EQ's work and will know about when and how to use subtractive EQ, additive EQ during the recording and mixing process. EQ is one if the most important tools for mixing, especially when dealing with vocals. The control that EQ's offer allows you work, boosting and cutting to fit the vocal perfectly into the mix. The key to get a professional sounding vocal every time is to always keep in mind what you're trying to achieve stylistically and for it, using reference track is very effective. In addition to EQing, there are a variety of complex working steps such as compression, reverb, chorus, delay, adjusted for the effects of the work and harmonies of backing vocals and that are also very important task. The work of EQing is the beginning of the mixing process, among other things, need to be a detailed work throughout the consideration of the above points to its importance is greater relationship.
