전차륜 독립휠 구동 및 조향 제어 기반 특수목적용 6WD/6WS 차량의 주행제어 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on Maneuvering Control Algorithm Based on All-wheel Independent Driving and Steering Control for Special Purpose 6WD/6WS Vehicles)

  • This paper discusses the maneuvering control algorithm based on all-wheel independent driving and steering control techniques for special purpose 6WD/WS vehicles. The maneuvering control algorithms considering superior dynamic characteristics of high power in-wheel motors and independent steering system are designed to perform driving, steering, vehicle stability, and fault tolerant control. The maneuvering controller applies sliding and optimal control theories considering optimal torque distribution and friction circle related to the vertical tire force. The fault tolerant control algorithm is applied to obtain the similar maneuverability to that of the non-faulty vehicle. The simulations using the Matlab/Simulink dynamics model and experiments using HIL simulator mounting the real controllers with the designed control algorithms prove the improved performances in terms of vehicle stability and maneuverability.

  • The important field of research in ship operation is related to the high efficiency of transportation, the convenience of maneuvering ships and the safety of navigation. For these purposes, many intelligent technologies for ship automation have been required and studied. In this paper, we propose an intelligent voice instruction-based learning (VIBL) method and discuss the building of a ship's steering control system based on this method. The VIBL system concretely consists of two functions: a text conversion function where an instructor's inputted voice is recognized and converted to text, and a linguistic instruction based learning function where the text instruction is understood through a searching process of given meaning elements. As a study method, the fuzzy theory is adopted to build maneuvering models of steersmen and then the existing LIBL is improved and combined with the voice recognition technology to propose the VIBL. The ship steering control system combined with VIBL is tested in a ship maneuvering simulator and its validity is shown.

Deep Neural Network-Based Critical Packet Inspection for Improving Traffic Steering in Software-Defined IoT

  • With the rapid growth of intelligent devices and communication technologies, 5G network environment has become more heterogeneous and complex in terms of service management and orchestration. 5G architecture requires supportive technologies to handle the existing challenges for improving the Quality of Service (QoS) and the Quality of Experience (QoE) performances. Among many challenges, traffic steering is one of the key elements which requires critically developing an optimal solution for smart guidance, control, and reliable system. Mobile edge computing (MEC), software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and deep learning (DL) play essential roles to complementary develop a flexible computation and extensible flow rules management in this potential aspect. In this proposed system, an accurate flow recommendation, a centralized control, and a reliable distributed connectivity based on the inspection of packet condition are provided. With the system deployment, the packet is classified separately and recommended to request from the optimal destination with matched preferences and conditions. To evaluate the proposed scheme outperformance, a network simulator software was used to conduct and capture the end-to-end QoS performance metrics. SDN flow rules installation was experimented to illustrate the post control function corresponding to DL-based output. The intelligent steering for network communication traffic is cooperatively configured in SDN controller and NFV-orchestrator to lead a variety of beneficial factors for improving massive real-time Internet of Things (IoT) performance.

Design and Analysis of an Interactive Motion Simulator in Space Entertainment System

  • In this paper, the analysis and design of a motion simulator (based on the approach taken by interactive virtual reality (VR) entertainment systems) is conducted. The main components of the system include a bilateral control interface, simulation and a motion simulator control scheme. The space entertainment system uses a virtual environment that enables operators to feel the actual feedback sensing and distorted motion from the virtual environment, just as they would in the real environment. The space entertainment system integrates the dynamics of the motion simulator and the virtual environment and the operator maneuvers a steering wheel to interact with the system. The multiple bilateral control schemes employ a dynamical controller, which is designed by considering the velocity and acceleration that the operator imposes on the joystick, the environmental changes imposed on the motion simulator. In addition, we develop a calculated method to evaluate the Ratio of the simulation results. It is shown that the proposed control scheme can improve the performance of the visual entertainment system. Experiments are conducted on the virtual reality entertainment system to validate the theoretical developments.

토크센서를 이용한 CMG의 지상 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of CMG Ground Simulator using Torque Sensor)

  • CMG는 3축으로 토크를 발생시키기 위해 클러스터로 구성하여 사용할 수 있다. CMG 클러스터에서 발생되는 여러 가지 설계에 고려되어야 할 문제들이 있다. 이러한 문제들을 지상에서 미리 검증하는 것이 필수적이다. 따라서 본 논문에서 토크센서로 위성자세를 계산하는 CMG 시뮬레이터를 제안하였다. 개발과정에서 발생한 김발각문제 해결을 위해 보정방법과 칼만필터가 제시되었다. 보정방법은 계산된 김발각을 기본으로 사용하고 센서 값을 보조로 사용해서 오차를 줄인다. 또한 개발된 CMG 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 특이점 회피를 위한 구동법칙과 자세제어 로직 시험결과도 예로서 제시되었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a simulator for testing of the Navigation Control System(NCS) in Bimodal-tram. NCS uses values of all sorts of sensors installed in vehicle to decide current position, and to control speed and steering of vehicle to go to a next position. Major functions of simulator are input processing of the driver and generation of virtual sensor data and driving profile(navigation path, magnetic information), and the NCS function. Virtual sensor data is generated according to output data from the NCS, driving profile and input processing of the driver, and monitoring systems is operated separatedly to confirm of NCS operation. This paper discusses about the implementation of the simulator, and analyzes and evaluates the simulation results.

Development of Desk top Tug-barge Simulator and Evaluation Module

  • This paper is a part of the development on the safe navigation model of tugs and barges in Korea waters. desk-top tug-barge simulator is to train the crew of tugs and barges, especially tugs' crew. It is connected with steering and engine telegraph console and winch control console, and can describe three types of operation mode for a tug-barge working unit, towing mode, side by side and push mode. It can also record and assess each simulation run. The evaluation module can confirm the result of a finished simulation run and help trainees to find and correct their faults, and it is composed of result evaluation and process evaluation.

경찰 오토바이 시뮬레이터의 동역학에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamics of Police Motorcycle Simulator)

  • 본 연구에서는 기동 순찰대 오토바이 가상훈련 시스템 구현의 개발 기술을 바탕으로 PC를 기반으로 한 모터사이클 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 모터사이클 시뮬레이터를 현실감 있게 직접 운전하고 있다는 느낌을 받도록 하기 위해서는 운전자와 시뮬레이터 사이에서 상호 신뢰성 있는 신호의 전달 및 조작 느낌이 중요하다. 이를 위해서 실차와 동일한 조작 느낌을 생성하기 위하여 실차의 각 서브시스템이 모터사이클 시뮬레이터에 그대로 적용될 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하여 시스템을 구축하였으며, 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 운전자에게 현실감 있는 조작 느낌을 제공할 수 있는 피드백 큐 생성 방법을 개발하였다. 차량 동역학은 차량 시뮬레이터에 탑승한 운전자가 운전 중 조작하는 조향 휠, 가감속 페달 등으로부터 입력을 받아 실시간으로 차량의 운동을 예측하고, 그 결과를 시각, 음향 시스템에 전달하여 필요한 시각 및 운동 큐를 생성케 하는 시뮬레이터의 중심요소이다. 시뮬레이션 동역학 주요 요구내용에 대해 정리하고자 한다.

파워스티어링 오일펌프용 풀리의 피로수명을 고려한 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization Considering Fatigue Life of Pulley in Power-Steering Pulley)

  • The pulley is one of core mechanical elements in the power steering system for vehicles. The pulley operates under both the compressive loading and the torque. Therefore, to assure the safety of the power steering system, it is very important to investigate the durability and the optimization of the pulley. In this study, the applied stress distribution of the pulley under high tension and torsion loads was obtained by using finite element analysis. Based on these results the fatigue life of the pulley with the variation of the fatigue strength was evaluated by a durability analysis simulator. The results at 50% and 1% for the failure probability were compared with respect to the fatigue life. In addition to the optimum design for the fatigue life is obtained by the response surface method. The response function utilizes the function of the life and weight factors. Within range for design life condition the minimization of the weight, one of the formulation, is obtained by the optimal design. Moreover the optimum design by considering its durability and validity is verified by the durability test.
