Intelligent Steering Control System Based on Voice Instructions

  • The important field of research in ship operation is related to the high efficiency of transportation, the convenience of maneuvering ships and the safety of navigation. For these purposes, many intelligent technologies for ship automation have been required and studied. In this paper, we propose an intelligent voice instruction-based learning (VIBL) method and discuss the building of a ship's steering control system based on this method. The VIBL system concretely consists of two functions: a text conversion function where an instructor's inputted voice is recognized and converted to text, and a linguistic instruction based learning function where the text instruction is understood through a searching process of given meaning elements. As a study method, the fuzzy theory is adopted to build maneuvering models of steersmen and then the existing LIBL is improved and combined with the voice recognition technology to propose the VIBL. The ship steering control system combined with VIBL is tested in a ship maneuvering simulator and its validity is shown.

승용차 스티어링 칼럼 시스템의 진동해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vibration Analysis of an Automobile Steering System)

  • In this paper, in order to analyze dynamic characteristics of an automobile steering system consisting of many components, natural frequencies and transfer functions of each component and the total system are found on a FFT analyzer by experiments. Then, the data are transmitted to a commercial package program, CADA-PC. By analyzing the data, the mode shape of each natural frequency and damping values are obtained. Also, the function of a rubber coupling in column and telescoping effects on system are considered. C.A.E commercial programs are used to compare with the results of experiments. For the finite element modeling, I-DEAS is used. Data processing and post processing are operated on NASTRAN and XL, respectively. The ball-bearing and the linkage of shaft with column are modeled by spring element. Stiffness is modified from the results of experiments. The results of those show close agreement. In the mode shape of total system, wheel mode is dominant at lower frequency, while the column mode is main mode at higher. The role of rubber coupling in vibration isolation is clear on mode shape. Telescoping function makes natural frequency of column changed.

충청지역 공공도서관 조례에 포함된 도서관운영위원회 조항 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Provisions of the Library Steering Committee Included in the Ordinance of Public Libraries in Chungcheong Province)

  • 본 연구는 충청지역을 중심으로 공공도서관 운영위원회 관련 조례 내용 중 도서관 운영위원회 관련 내용을 분석하여 문제점과 시사점을 도출하고 이를 기반으로 도서관 운영에 도움이 될 수 있는 운영위원회 조례 구성에 필요한 내용 및 보완 사항 등을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 공공도서관 운영위원회의 의의와 역할, 조례의 성격에 관한 이론적 배경에 대해 살펴보았다. 둘째, 운영위원회 관련 조례제정 현황, 운영위원회 관련 조항 포함 여부, 구성 내용, 구성방식, 기능, 회의와 규정제정 및 수당지급 등 5개 영역으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 이 분석을 토대로 조례 담당 부서, 도서관운영위원회 의무 설치, 위원 구성에 있어 도서관장, 도서관 전문가의 참여 보장, 정기회의 개최, 회의록 공개, 위원회 심의 결과 반영 등이 필요함을 언급하였다. 또한 향후 도서관운영원회 관련 표준조례안 제정 시 운영위원회의 명칭, 성격과 역할, 구성, 회의, 하위 조직이나 규칙 제정 등에 관한 사항을 포함해야함을 제안하였다.

  • This paper present the nonlinear control and the Lyapunov analysis of the nonlinear electro-hydraulic system for steering control of UCT. Electro-hydraulic system itself has the high nonlinearities arisen from the nonlinear characteristics of the pressure-fluid flow in valve and friction in cylinder. These nonlinearities are unmodeled terms in the transfer function. This paper presents the system modeling, analysis of stability based on the Lyapunov function and simulation of the nonlinear hydraulic servo system.

조향 휠 수직 진동의 체감량 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Sensation Magnitude of Vertical Vibration of a Steering Wheel)

  • This study aims to find equivalent comfort contours, reciprocal of frequency weighting curves, for vertical steering wheel vibration. Psychophysical responses were measured from twelve male subjects by using magnitude estimation of relative discomfort due to vertical steering wheel vibrations of magnitude of 0.1 to 1.58 $m/s^2$ in the frequency range of 4 to 250 Hz. Relative discomfort were estimated with a reference vibration of 0.4 $m/s^2$ at 31.5 Hz. Equivalent comfort contours were produced from the median of sensation magnitudes judged by twelve subjects, which showed variation in the shapes with increase of vibration magnitude. A shape of the contour came close to the perception threshold curve with decrease of vibration magnitude. When the vibration magnitude increases, the shape changed close to those in the references of Hong and et al (2003). It is also recommended frequency weighting curves for vertical steering wheel vibration must be expressed as a function of vibration magnitude as well as frequency.

승용차 4륜 조향(4WS) 장치용 비례 압력 제어 밸브의 특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of the Proportional Pressure Control Valve for 4 Wheel Steering System on the Passenger Car)

  • The proportional pressure control valve(PCV) is an essential component in the open loop controlled rear wheel steering gear of the four wheel steering(4WS) system on the passenger car. The valve should have versatile functions and higher performance. But, it is hard to find the proportional pressure control valve suitable for the 4WS system. In this paper, the determination of the valve parameters was studied by the stability discrimination and the characteristic analysis for the purpose of the development of a new PCV for the 4WS. The mathematical model of the valve was derived from the valve-cylinder system and the programme for numerical computation was developed. The transfer function of the system was obtained from the mathematical model. The characteristics of the valve were inspected through the experiment and compared to those obtained by numerical method. And then the stability discrimination of the system was done by root locus and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the inspection, the appropriation of mathematical model and the usefulness of the programme were confirmed. And the parameters which might affect the performance of the valve can be determined by considering the stability discrimination, the characteristics analysis and required functions.

최적 타이어 힘 분배 방법을 통한 전기차의 독립 6WD/6WS에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Independent 6WD/6WS of Electric Vehicle using Optimum Tire Force Distribution)

  • This paper presents an optimum tire force distribution method for 6WD/6WS(6-Wheel-Drive and 6-Wheel-Steering) electric vehicles. Using an independent steering and driving system, the performance of 6WD/6WS vehicles can be improved, as, for example, with respect to their maneuverability under low speed and their stability at high speed. Therefore, there should be a control strategy for finding the optimum tire forces that satisfy the driver's command and minimize energy consumption. From the driver's commands (steering angle and accelerator/brake pedal stroke), the desired yaw moment, the desired lateral force, and the desired longitudinal force were obtained. These three values were distributed to each wheel as the torque and the steering angle, based on the optimum tire force distribution method. The optimum tire force distribution method finds the longitudinal/lateral tire forces of each wheel that minimize the cost function, which is the sum of the normalized tire forces. Next, the longitudinal/lateral tire forces of each wheel are converted into the reference torque inputs and the steering wheel angle inputs. The proposed method was tested through a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.

무인 컨테이너 운송 조향 제어의 적응 퍼지 제어와 응용 (Design of the Adaptive Fuzzy Control Scheme and its Application on the Steering Control of the UCT)

  • Fuzzy logic control(FLC) is composed of three parts : fuzzy rule-bases, membership functions, and scaling factors. Well-defined fuzzy rule-base should contain proper physical intuition on the plant, so are needed lots of experiences of the skillful expert. When membership functions are considered, some parameters on the memberships function such as function shape, support, allocation density should be selected well. The rule of scaling factors is 'scaling'(amplifying or reducing) for both input and output signals of the FLC to fit in the membership function support and to operate the plant intentionally. To get a better performance of the FLC, it is necessary to adjust the parameters of the FLC. In general, the adaptation of the scaling factors is the most effective adjustment scheme, compared with that of the fuzzy rule-base or membership function parameters. This study proposes the adaptation scheme of the scaling factors. When the adaptation is performed on-line, the stability of the adaptive FLC should be guaranteed. The stable FLC system can be designed with stability analysis in the sense of Lyapunov stability. To adapt the scaling factors for the error signals, the concept of the conventional MRAC would be introduced into slightly modified form. A tracking accuracy of the control system would be enhanced by the modified shape and support of the membership function. The simulation is achieved on the pilot plant with the hydraulic steering control of a UCT(Unmanned Container Transporter) of which modeling dynamics have lots of severe uncertainties and modeling errors.

  • 철도차량의 주행안정성과 곡선추종성능을 동시에 획기적으로 개선하기 위한 능동조향대차의 가능성은 이론적으로는 계속적으로 검증되어 왔지만 능동제어를 위한 정보획득 문제, 부수적인 기계요소, 높은 에너지 소비, 고장에 대비한 안전기능 등과 같이 해결해야할 기술적 난제 때문에 많은 노력에도 불구하고 아직까지 상용화되지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자, 본 논문에서는 보다 진보된 능동조향 메커니즘을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문의 메커니즘을 이용하면 적은 제어력만 필요하기 때문에 기어와 같은 동력 전달장치가 필요 없고, 그 결과 추가되는 기계요소의 개수를 최소화 할 수 있으며 안전장치 또한 쉽게 구축이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 능동조향대차의 개념에 관하여 소개하고 선형동적모델을 이용한 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 가능성을 검증하고자 한다.

파워스티어링 오일펌프용 풀리의 피로수명을 고려한 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization Considering Fatigue Life of Pulley in Power-Steering Pulley)

  • The pulley is one of core mechanical elements in the power steering system for vehicles. The pulley operates under both the compressive loading and the torque. Therefore, to assure the safety of the power steering system, it is very important to investigate the durability and the optimization of the pulley. In this study, the applied stress distribution of the pulley under high tension and torsion loads was obtained by using finite element analysis. Based on these results the fatigue life of the pulley with the variation of the fatigue strength was evaluated by a durability analysis simulator. The results at 50% and 1% for the failure probability were compared with respect to the fatigue life. In addition to the optimum design for the fatigue life is obtained by the response surface method. The response function utilizes the function of the life and weight factors. Within range for design life condition the minimization of the weight, one of the formulation, is obtained by the optimal design. Moreover the optimum design by considering its durability and validity is verified by the durability test.
