Main compositions of powder paint based on thermoset type epoxy resin consist of epoxy resin for powder coating, curing agent, filler and pigment. The curing system used in this study was based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) and dicyan diamide (DICY). The curing behavior and rheological properties of powder coating material were investigated using DSC and rheometer, respectively. And the adhesion strength between steel and powder coating material was measured using lap shear geometry. The optimum formulation of epoxy powder paint obtained from this study was base resin of 100 phr, DICY of 6 phr, $CaCO_3$ of 20 phr, and $TiO_2$ of 10 phr.

Shear behavior of concrete beams reinforced with steel and/or FRP bar is studied through experimental tests. Experimental parameters includes the mechanical properties of reinforcements in shear and bending, and the ratio of shear reinforcement. The validity of the modified truss analogy, that has been widely accepted as a basis for the practical shear design of concrete beams, has been examined thoroughly by analyzing experimental results. The experimental results indicate that the modified truss analogy cannot be directly adopted to the shear problem of concrete beams reinforced with FRP bar.
Common methods for large scale hydrogen production, such as steam reforming and coal gasification, also involve production of carbonaceous gases. It is therefore necessary to handle process gas streams involving various mixtures of hydrocarbons, $H_2$, $H_2O$, CO and $CO_2$ at moderate to high temperatures. These gases pose a variety of corrosion threats to the alloys used in plant construction. Carbon is a particularly aggressive corrodent, leading to carburisation and, at high carbon activities, to metal dusting. The behaviour of commercial heat resisting alloys 602CA and 800, together with that of 304 stainless steel, was studied during thermal cycling in $CO/CO_2$ at $650-750^{\circ}C$, and also in $CO/H_2/H_2O$ at $680^{\circ}C$. Thermal cycling caused repeated scale separation, which accelerated chromium depletion from the alloy subsurface regions. The $CO/H_2/H_2O$ gas, with $a_C=2.9$ and $p(O_2)=5\times10^{-23}$ atm, caused relatively rapid metal dusting, accompanied by some internal carburisation. In contrast, the $CO/CO_2$ gas, with $a_C=7$ and $p(O_2)=10^{-23}-10^{-24}$ atm caused internal precipitation in all three alloys, but no dusting. Inward diffusion of oxygen led to in situ oxidation of internal carbides. The very different reaction morphologies produced by the two gas mixtures are discussed in terms of competing gas-alloy reaction steps.
Recently, a new foundation model called "Dynamic foundation model" was proposed for the dynamic analysis of structures on the foundation. This model includes a linear elastic spring, shear layer, viscous damping and the special effects of mass density parameter of foundation during vibration. However, the relationship of foundation property parameters with the experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass also has not been established in previous research. Hence, the purpose of the paper presents a simple experimental model in order to establish relationships between foundation properties such as stiffness, depth of foundation and experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass. The simple experimental model is described by a steel plate connected with solid rubber layer as a single degree of freedom system including an elastic spring connected with lumped mass. Based on natural circular frequencies of the experimental models determined from FFT analysis plots of the time history of acceleration data, the experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass is obtained and the above relationships are also discussed.
As of July 1, 2017, the method of quality management of construction equipment had been changed completely. In case of manufacturing and distributing pipe supports, the support length according to the safety certification standard shall be not more than 6 m and the compressive strength shall be not less than 40,000 N at the maximum height. However, the field tests for the quality control standard were usually performed at 3.5 m when the length of the pipe supports is 3.5 m to 4.0 m, and the compression strength was specified to be more than 35,300 N. This difference in the two standards can cause confusion in practice. In this study, the compression load of the pipe supports was tested and found to be more than 30% defective. Therefore, it is necessary to review the modification of the safety certification and quality standards to improve the standard requirements.
A soil mailed wall is adapted as road widening measure and is constructed under a miniature abutment built on steel pipe piles. The soil nailed wall called for removal of the existing embankment slope to permanently retain the fill behind the abutment. The soil nailed wall is fully instrumented and is monitored. A 3D finite element analysis is used to study further the behavior of the soil nailed wall. The complete sequence of construction is simulated. The numerical model is calibrated against the instrumented nailed wall. Then a parametric study is conducted. The results provide valuable information related to the effect of the excavation and nailing on the following: axial load and bending moment in the piles, load in the nails, and wall deflections.

In underground reinforced concrete structures, such as drainage structure, water and chloride ion penetrated into concrete through the cracks of concrete and its permeable property, cause the corrosion of reinforcing steel bar, which accelerates the expansive cracks and deterioration of concrete. It is necessary to control those deterioration of underground structure by improving its permeability and durability through the reasonable solutions in design, construction and materials. In the present study, fly ash concrete, which has good material properties in long-term period, is compared and studied with plain concrete using ordinary portland cement in terms of fundamental mechanical properties, permeability, drying shrinkage and durability. Also, the mix design and its properties of low permeable concrete using fly ash are reviewed. From this study, fly ash concrete can conctrol the penetration of water and chloride ion effectively by forming dense microstructure of concrete. Therefore, fly ash concrete may increase the long-term function, performance and serviceability of underground structures.
Recently, the high-strength concrete is increasingly used in the construction of reinforced concrete structures due to its benefits, but this use is influenced negatively on the local ductility of structural elements. The objective of this study is the prediction of a new approach to evaluate the curvature ductility factor of high strength concrete beams according to Eurocode 2. After the presentation of the Constitutive laws of materials and the evaluation method of curvature ductility according to the Eurocode 2, we conduct a parametric study on the factors influencing the curvature ductility of inflected sections. The calibrating of the obtained results allows predicting a very simple approach for estimating the curvature ductility factor. The proposed formula allows to calculate the curvature ductility factor of high strength concrete beams directly according to the concrete strength $f_{ck}$, the yield strength of steel $f_{yk}$ and the ratio of tension and compression reinforcements ${\rho}$ and ${\rho}^{\prime}$ respectively, this proposed formula is validated by theoretical and experimental results of different researchers.

This paper demonstrates the possibility of evaluating the safety of a building right after an earthquake using consumer-grade surveillance cameras installed in the building. Two cameras are used in each story to extract the time history of interstory drift during the earthquake based on camera calibration, stereo triangulation, and image template matching techniques. The interstory drift of several markers on the rigid floor are used to estimate the motion of the geometric center using the least square approach, then the horizontal interstory drift of any location on the floor can be estimated. A shaking table collapse test of a steel building was conducted to verify the proposed approach. The results indicate that the accuracy of the interstory drift measured by the cameras is high enough to estimate the damage state of the building based on the fragility curve of the interstory drift ratio. On the other hand, the interstory drift measured by an accelerometer tends to underestimate the damage state when residual interstory drift occurs because the low frequency content of the displacement signal is eliminated when high-pass filtering is employed for baseline correction.
In this paper the progressive collapse potential of building structures designed for real construction projects were evaluated based on arbitrary column removal scenario using various alternate path methods specified in the GSA guidelines. The analysis model structures are a 22-story reinforced concrete moment frames with core wall building and a 44-story interior concrete core and exterior steel diagrid structure. The progressive collapse resisting capacities of the model structures were evaluated using the linear static, nonlinear static, and nonlinear dynamic analyses. The linear static analysis results showed that progressive collapse occurred in the 22-story model structure when an interior column was removed. However the structure turned out to be safe according to the nonlinear static and dynamic analyses. Similar results were observed in the 44-story diagrid structure. Based on the analysis results, it was concluded that, compared with nonlinear analysis procedures, the linear static method is conservative in the prediction of progressive collapse resisting capacity of building structure based on arbitrary column removal scenario.
