콘크리트와 철근의 부착강도에 대한 횡구속 설계변수 (Design Parameters of Confinement on Bond Strength of Reinforcing Steel to Concrete)

  • Bond between reinforcing bars and the surrounding concrete is supposed to safely transfer load in the design process of reinforced concrete structures. Bond failure of reinforcing bars generally take place by splitting of concrete cover as bond force between concrete and reinforcing bars exceeds the resistance by the confinement of the concrete cover and transverse reinforcement. Confinement, concrete cover and transverse reinforcement, on bond are the key factor of current provision to determine development length of reinforcing bars to concrete. In this study, previous available data are analyzed with respect to the current provisions for development and splice of reinforcement. From this study, the new provision for the design are proposed, which will be efficient and effective with some specific limit value.

Prediction of the bond strength of ribbed steel bars in concrete based on genetic programming

  • This paper presents the application of multi-gene genetic programming (MGP) technique for modeling the bond strength of ribbed steel bars in concrete. In this regard, the experimental data of 264 splice beam tests from different technical papers were used for training, validating and testing the model. Seven basic parameters affecting on the bond strength of steel bars were selected as input parameters. These parameters are diameter, relative rib area and yield strength of steel bar, minimum concrete cover to bar diameter ratio, splice length to bar diameter ratio, concrete compressive strength and transverse reinforcement index. The results show that the proposed MGP model can be alternative approach for predicting the bond strength of ribbed steel bars in concrete. Moreover, the performance of the developed model was compared with the building codes' empirical equations for a complete comparison. The study concludes that the proposed MGP model predicts the bond strength of ribbed steel bars better than the existing building codes' equations. Using the proposed MGP model and building codes' equations, a parametric study was also conducted to investigate the trend of the input variables on the bond strength of ribbed steel bars in concrete.

광해복원 경사지 밭의 토양유실 평가를 위한 현장실험 - 화학적 성질과 경사도 조건에서 - (A Pilot Experiments for Evaluation of Cover Soil Loss from Inclined Upland around Remediated Abandoned Mine Site - The Condition of Chemical Characteristics and Inclination -)

  • In-situ pilot experiment was carried out to establish a countermeasure on the soil loss from the hill side uplands that was rehabilitated by soil remediation method nearby abandoned mine sites for 2 years. It was considered that the affect of an inclination of cover surface, a stabilization treatment of cover layer by lime and steel refining slag (SRS) and a vegetation of soil surface as an effect factors in the experiment. It was constructed 4 lysimeters (plots, 22 m long, 4 m width) on the hilly side (37% inclination). One plot was control and two plots was treated by 1% lime and SRS. A remind one plot was modified a inclination to 27% to compare the affect of inclination on the amount of cover soil loss. It was attached a reservior tank and water level gauge in the end of lysimeters to measure the amount of the surface water flow and soil loss. It was also installed the automated sensors that could be collect the precipitation, soil moisture content, tension of cover layer in each plots. It was observed that the event of precipitation were caused the soil loss and it were related the physical and chemical properties of cover soil and inclination of surface layer of plots. During the experiment, it was exceeded the national regulation (50 t/ha/yr) in 37% inclination plots even though it was vegetated on the cover soil surface. However, in 27% inclination plot, it was shown that the amount of soil loss was maintained below the national regulation and, more ever, vegetation could reduce the the amount of soil loss. Therefore it was expected that such results could be applied to the future design of rehabilitation projects on the polluted farmland nearby abandoned mine sites.

광산 인근 밭토양에서 중금속 안정화제 처리 및 복토층 처리에 의한 토양 중 중금속 식물유효도 변화 및 고추의 중금속 흡수 (Changes in Heavy Metal Phytoavailability by Application of Immobilizing Agents and Soil Cover in the Upland Soil Nearby Abandoned Mining Area and Subsequent Metal Uptake by Red Pepper)

  • At the current situation of continuous utilization of heavy metal contaminated upland for agricultural purpose in Korea, minimizing transport of heavy metals from soil to crops is important for securing safety of human health. The present study (in field scale) examined the efficiency of several soil amendments (dolomite, steel slag, lime, zeolite, and compost) on reduction of phytoavailable heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) in soil through comparison with no amendment treatment and clean soil cover treatment. For determination of the phytoavailability, 1 M $NH_4NO_3$ extraction and red pepper cultivation were introduced. Among the amendments, in general, dolomite and steel slag were the most effective in reduction of metal (Cd, Pb, and Zn) phytoavailability resulting in less accumulation of these metals in shoot and fruit of red pepper. However, dolomite and steel slag treatment was not as effective as clean soil cover treatment which showed the least metal accumulation in red pepper fruit. Nevertheless, with taking into account the cost, treatment of dolomite or steel slag can be competitive method because the current study showed that dolomite or steel slag treatment reduced accumulated heavy metal concentration effectively in both shoot and fruit of red pepper compared to those from control soil and the concentration in fruit was within the standard value (<0.2 mg $kg^{-1}$ for both Cd and Pb).

활하중이 작용하는 해안도로 하부 연성지중구조물의 거동 분석 (Structural Behavior of the Buried flexible Conduits in Coastal Roads Under the Live Load)

  • 강판벽체와 뒷채움 지반의 상호작용에 의해 외력을 지지하는 지중강판구조물은 도로 제방의 하부 통·수로 구조물로 널리 사용되고 있다. 해안도로로 사용되는 성토체 내에 통로용 횡단구조물로 설치한 직경 6.25m의 원형단면 지중강판구조물에 대하여 상부 도로의 차량 통행에 의한 활하중 작용시 강판 벽체의 축력과 모멘트 변화를 평가하고, 토목섬유에 의한 강판구조물 상부 지반의 보강효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 실제 구조물을 대상으로 정적 및 동적 차량재하시험을 실시하고, 구조물 내에 발생하는 축력과 모멘트, 그리고 구조물에 작용하는 토압을 계측하였으며 그 결과를 각각 분석하였다. 또한 지오그리드를 이용한 토피부 보강 효과에 대해서도 검증하였다. 차량하중 작용시 강판 부재의 축력은 주로 상부 아치부에서 증가하였으며, 그 최대값은 구조물 정점부 또는 도관 어깨부에서 발생하였다. 모멘트도 상부 아치부를 중심으로 증가하는 형태를 보였으나, 그 크기는 무시할 수 있을 만큼 작았다. 정적차량하중이 가해질 때 토피부에 지오그리드를 포설한 단면에서 계측된 최대축력 증가량은 지오그리드가 설치되지 않은 단면에서 계측된 값의 85∼92%를 나타내어 사하중에 대한 효과 외에 추가적인 축력감소 효과를 확인할 수 있었으나 차량주행시에는 차량하중에 대한 추가적인 보강 효과는 없어짐을 관찰하였다. 동적재하시험을 통해 산정한 충격계수 (DLA)는 토피두께가 0.9m에서 1.5m까지 증가함에 따라 반비례하여 감소하였는데, 그 크기는 CHBDC 방법으로 예측한 값보다 1.2-1.4배 정도 크게 나타났다.

강섬유보강 고강도 경량콘크리트의 부착에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Bond of Steel Fiber Reinforced High-Strength Lightweight Concrete)

  • The bond between reinforcing bar and concrete is a significant factor to confirm that they behave uniformly in the reinforced concrete. Thus, the studies on this field have been conducted by many researchers. But for the high strength lightweight concrete few studies have been done. In this study, the steel fiber reinforced high strength lightweight concrete developed to complement the brittleness of the high strength lightweight concrete was studied experimentally to find the local bond stress. Total 20 specimens were tested and the measured test values were compared with those calculated according to ACI 318-95 code and CEB-FIP code, respectively. The results indicate that the maximum bond stress has been influenced by increment of volume fracture of steel fiber, compressive strength and cover, Especially steel fiber caused not only increment of bond strength but also ductile behaviro.

  • This study is performed for the purpose of obtaining the fundamental datum to analyse the cause of steel corrosion in concrete and establish the repair strategies of deteriorated reinforced concrete structures due to steel corrosion. To investigate the degree of concrete deterioration, soluble chloride content in harden concrete, the depth of carbonation, cover depth and compressive strength are measured. The progress of corrosion of concrete bridge is electrochemically evaluated. The result shows that in approximately 43% of the structures below -350mV(vs. CSE), the exessive chloride contents is a direct cause of steel corrosion in reinforced concrete structures.

  • The reinforced concrete column confined by square steel tubes(RCST) is a reinforced column (RC) confined by thin steel tubes which cover over the full length of the column but terminates 15mm from the column's ends. The steel tube is in uniaxial tension stress state and won't buckle when the column sustains axial load. This will highly increase the bearing capacity and ductility of the columns. The hysteretic behavior of four square RCST columns and one square RC column were experimentally studied under constant axial load and lateral cyclic load. The wide-to-thickness (D/t) ratio of RCST columns employed in this research is 75. The main variables of the experiment were axial load ratio and compressive strength of the concrete. Based on the findings in this research, RCST columns exhibits high lateral strength, ductility, and energy dissipation ability.

습윤상태의 피복두께와 물-시멘트비를 고려한 반전위와 철근 부식량의 상관성 (Relationship between Half Cell Potential and Corrosion Amount Considering Saturated Cover depth and W/C ratios in Cement Mortar)

  • 콘크리트는 다공성 건설재료이며, 매립된 철근의 부식은 내구성 및 안전성에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 비파괴 검사인 반전위측정값과 생성된 부식량과의 상관성을 피복두께, 물-시멘트비를 고려하여 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 3가지 수준의 물-시멘트비와 4가지 수준의 피복두께를 가진 시멘트 모르타르 시편이 제조되었으며, 3가지 수준의 촉진부식기간을 고려하여 부식량 및 반전위를 측정하였다. 습윤상태에서는 반전위가 크게 증가하였으며, 부식량과 촉진기간은 선형적인 관계를 가지고 있었다. 부식량이 증가할수록, 피복두께가 감소할수록, 물-시멘트비가 증가할수록 반전위는 증가하였다. 전체의 반전위 측정값을 부식량과 비교할 경우 0.67의 낮은 결정계수를 가지고 있었으나 부식량(촉진기간)을 고려하여 3가지 수준을 고려할 경우 0.90이상의 높은 결정계수를 가지고 있었다. 실내조건과 같이 온도가 일정하고 포화상태일 경우, 측정된 반전위는 부식량과 선형적인 상관성을 가지고 있었으며, 피복두께, 물-시멘트비, 철근직경, HCP의 측정범위를 알 수 있다면, 매립된 철근의 부식량을 예측할 수 있다고 판단된다.

다양한 피복두께를 가진 RC 보의 부식 거동 및 초음파 속도 (Corrosion Behavior and Ultrasonic Velocity in RC Beams with Various Cover Depth)

  • 철근 콘크리트 구조물은 부식이 증가함에 따라 부식생성물로 인한 균열이 발생하고 하중저항 능력이 감소한다. 본 연구에서는 140시간 동안 촉진염해시험(ICM)을 적용하여 부식을 유도하였으며 부식 전후의 초음파속도 변화, 휨파괴 하중, 부식생성물량을 평가하였다. 피복두께를 3수준(20 mm, 30 mm. 40 mm)으로 고려하였는데, 피복두께가 증가할수록 균열발생시기 및 부식생성량이 증가하였다. 또한 초음파 속도는 피복두께의 감소 및 부식생성량의 증가에 따라 뚜렷한 선형관계를 가지고 감소하였다. 휨파괴 하중의 경우 부식에 따라 10 % 이상 휨하중이 감소하였으나, 명확한 상관성을 도출할 수 없었는데, 이는 부식률이 작으므로 철근단면적의 감소 영향보다 슬립에 의한 영향이 크기 때문이다. 피복두께가 증가함에 따라 부식생성량 및 초음파 속도는 뚜렷한 선형관계를 가지고 변화하였으며, 부식으로 인한 균열발생 시간은 평가된 전류의 기울기를 분석하여 추측할 수 있었다.
