  • This study examines effect in customer satisfaction of the emotional intelligence of members at service providing department in the hotel; A case of five star hotels in Dajeon Research hypotheses were developed based on previous literature, and data were collected from 350 employees working at the hotel restaurant service business located in Daejeon, ROK, were investigated herein The collected data were then analysed using frequence reliability For this research analysis, a self-recording method was used where and examiner explains the survey and respondents writhen down their answers to survey questions Statistical processing in this study was done through data cidubg and data cleaning then with the SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science)v. 18.0. This result the emotional intelligence of service-providing employees at food service department of hotel was found to have a positive effect on customer satisfaction via understanding of others and emotional control. And the understanding of oneself, understanding of others and emotional control in emotional intelligence had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Emotional control, and emotioal use were found to affect organizational commitment positively.

  • In this paper, behaviors and properties of p-values for goodness-of-fit test are investigated. With some findings on the p-values, we consider some applications to determine sample size of a survey research using the regression equation based on a pilot study data. Regression equations are obtained by the well-known least squared method, and we find that regression lines could be formulated with only two data points, alternatively. For further studies, this works might be extended to t distributions for testing hypotheses about population mean in order to determine sample size of a prospective study. Also similar arguments could be explored for F test statistics.

  • Stratification (among other applications) is a popular technique used in survey practice to improve the accuracy of estimators. Its full potential benefit can be gained by the effective use of auxiliary variables in stratification related to survey variables. This paper focuses on the problem of stratum formation when multiple stratification variables are available. We first review a variance reduction strategy in the case of univariate stratification. We then discuss its use for multivariate situations in convenient and efficient ways using three methods: compromised measures of size, principal components analysis and a K-means clustering algorithm. We also consider three types of compromising factors to data when using these three methods. Finally, we compare their efficiency using data from MU281 Swedish municipality population.

  • In sample design, determining the weights of estimates becomes usually great influence on the result. In this article, raking methods are applied to different domain and depending on the range of the domain and sample size, the results of estimates are explained and compared. For the comparison, we use the MSE, MAE, MSPE and MAPE with Actual State of Minor Enterprisers Human Resources Survey data in 2001. The simulation result shows that more elaborate method is superior to the widely used method as expected but the difference is not quite significant.

  • Overlap Maximization is a sampling technique to reduce survey costs and costs associated with the survey. It was first studied by Keyfitz(1951). Ernst(1998) presented a remarkable procedure for maximizing the overlap when the sampling units can be selected for two identical stratified designs simultaneously, But the approach involves mimicking the behaviour of nonlinear function by linear function and so it is less direct, even though the stratification problem for the overlap corresponds directly to the linear programming problem. furthermore, it uses the controlled selection algorithm that repeatedly needs zero-restricted controlled roundings, which are solutions of capacitated transportation problems. In this paper we suggest a comparatively simple procedure to use linear programming in order to maximize the overlap. We show how this procedure can be implemented practically.

  • We propose a new sampling design for the 2001 Health Index Survey at Seoul. In this stratified two-stage sampling design, the ED(enumeration district) of 2000 Population and Housing Census is used as primary sampling unit and the Gu is used as stratification variable in order to obtain the sub-domain estimate for 25 Gu's as well as population estimate for Seoul. The sample ED's are systematically selected after the Ed's are ordered by location and property to obtain a representative sample. And also, the imputation methods for item nonresponses are suggested.

  • In general, the imputation problems which are caused from survey nonresponse have been studied for being based on ignorable cases. However the model based approach can be applied to survey with nonresponse suspected of being nonignorable. Here in this study, we will make the nonresponse for nonignorable into ignorable cell using adjustment cell approach, then we can applied the ignorable nonresponse method. For data sets of each nonresponse cells are simulated from normal distribution.

  • The successful launch of Arirang satellites allow the acquisition of high resolution satellite imagery of Korean territory and enables the transition from the conventional cultivation area survey method to new image based methods adopted in advanced nations. In this study, we suggested reasonable sizes of the primary sampling unit and the secondary sampling unit for the satellite imagery based sampling design in 8 provinces preselected for this research. The PSU size was determined mainly in consideration of intracorrelation that shows the degree of homogeneity within each cluster and the efficiency of the image process. For the SSU size, we considered the relative standard error and the differences between the land cover maps produced by the Ministry of Environment and the satellite imagery processed by the National Statistical Office.

  • In this study, we systemize the theoretical validity for applying RRM to three-stage cluster sampling method and derive the estimate and it's variance of sensitive parameter. We derive the minimum variance form under the optimal values of the subsample sizes when the costs are fixed. Under the some given precision, we obtain the optimal values of the subsample sizes and derive the minimum cost form by using them. We apply the three-stage cluster RRM to field survey and suggest some necessary points for practical use.
