Recently, Korean National Statistical Office submits the results of population projections for Korea from 1960 to 2050 year. The purpose of this paper is to suggest the reasonable assumptions for the survey of population, and then to detect the errors of the surveyed population (1960-2005) on Korean Information Statistical System.

In this paper we propose a poll system n the internet. This system expects to increase the confidence of the internet poll results by sampling theory(proportional allocation). This system provides a cross-tale and result of hypothesis test which plays an important role for decision making. These results do offer a few statistical packages(such as SAS, SPSS) in the world wide web.

우리나라는 국가통계체제는 고속성장이라는 국가적 과제와 발전의 궤를 같이 하면서 필요할 때마다 관련 통계를 만들어 왔으며 이로 인해 기초통계가 체계적으로 균형 있게 발전해오지 못한 한계를 지니고 있다. 변화하는 경제사회 환경에 맞추어 필요통계를 발굴해내는 수요체계 파악, 국제기구의 통계와의 정합성 제고, 유사중복통계 작성 방지, 통계인력의 전문성 제고 등 구조적 문제를 해결하기 위한 법적 및 실질적 운영상의 개선 노력이 필요하다. 국가통계 총괄 조정기능 강화하고 실천력이 전제되는 거버넌스 구조를 위해 통계청을 차관급인 처나 장관급 행정부로 격상시키고 통계기관장을 임기제로 하고 공모를 통하여 선정해야 한다. 행정자료의 활용도 제고를 위한 대통령직속위원회의 신설, 민간 통계생산기관과의 협력강화, 지방자치단체의 통계역량 제고, 자료처리센터의 설치, 마이크로데이터의 공동 활용 시스템 설치 등도 시급한 과제들이다.

This study was to develop a system for grading apples by their color using statistical image processing. T-test was used to detect edges in apple images and the chain code method was used for contour coding. The histogram and mean gray level of each RGB channel in a ring-shaped region was used to compare apple colors to reference apple color.

In this paper forest fire statistical information management system is constructed on web environment using web based GIS(Geographic Information System) technology. Though this system, general users can easily access forest fire statistical information and obtain them in visual method such as maps, graphs, and text if they have web browsers. Moreover, officials related to forest fire can easily control and manage all information in domestic by accessing input interface, retrieval interface, and out interface. In order to implement this system, IIS 5.0 of Microsoft is used as web server and Oracle 8i and ASP(Active Server Page) are used for database construction and dynamic web page operation, respectively. Also, Arc IMS of ESRI is used to serve map data using Java and HTML as system development language. Through this system, general users can obtain the whole information related to forest fire visually in real time also recognize forest fire prevention. In addition, Forest officials can manage the domestic forest resource and control forest fire dangerous area efficiently and scientifically by analyzing and retrieving huge forest data through this system. So, they can save their manpower, time and cost to collect and manage data.

The purpose of this study, therefore, was to construct the region statistical information to present methods of the data. The results of this paper are as follows: First, the construction of region statistical data is much in need of utilizing the server of regional information center, or the database to the server of public institutions, Second, there are some difficulties to receive the region statistical data because of only depending on the main source of KOSIS provided by national units from National Statistical Office. Third, as there is another problem which is text searching system served by KOSIS, GU system should be established for the user's satisfaction served by easier accessing screen. Fourth, there should be a standard software production to suit for the accessing software of the region statistical data.

A unified framework for statistical inference for the mean of the normal distribution to derive point estimates, confidence intervals and statistical tests is proposed. This optimal design is justified after investigating the basic information and requirements that are possible and impossible to control when specifying practical and statistical requirements. Point estimation is only credible when viewed in the larger context of interval estimation, since the information required for optimal point estimation is unspecifiable. Triple sampling is proposed and justified as a reasonable sampling vehicle to achieve the specifiable requirements within the unified framework.

We attempt to get a probabilistic model of a queueing system in the maximum entropy condition. Applying the maximum entropy principle to the queueing system, we obtain the most uncertain probability model compatible with the available information expressed by moments.

Statistical process control (SPC) is a powerful technique for monitoring, managing, analysing and improving the process performance. However, its has limitations such as lack of engineering, statistical skill and training, and lesser importance of activity. To solve the problems, this study proposes an intelligent SPC system using specified agents which are derived through analysis and evaluation of the SPC activities. The activities investigated by the relevant researches are categorized as collection, process analysis, diagnosis, detection, cause analysis and rule generation. Also, the evaluation criteria are established as feasibility of automation, frequency, level and time. The requirements of the agent functions are derived by the evaluation, and the types of customized agents are as data collection, store, analysis, diagnosis, monitoring, alarm and reporting. A prototype SPC system represents that the functions of the proposed agents are successfully validated.
