Mobile Wireless Sensor Network is an organized collection of sensor nodes and mobile sink nodes, in which the sensor node transmits the signal to the sink node. In real environment, there are many cases in which sinks have mobility caused by the people, the vehicle and etc. Since all nodes in the sensor networks have limited energy, many researches have been done in order to prolong the lifetime of the entire network. In this paper we propose Dynamic Local Update-based Routing Protocol(D-LURP) that prolong the lifetime of the entire network to efficiently maintain frequent location update of mobile sink static sensor nodes in Mobile WSNs. When the sink node moves out of the local broadcasting area the proposed D-LURP configures dynamically the local update area consisted of the new local broadcasting area and the previous dissemination node(DN) and find the path between the DN and the sink node, instead of processing a new discovering path like LURP. In this way the processing of broadcasting sink node's location information in the entire network will be omitted. and thus less energy will be consumpted. We compare the performances of the proposed scheme and existing Protocols.

Dial-a-ride is the most widely available transit service for disabled persons or seniors in the United States and Europe. This paper studies a static dial-a-ride problem considering multiple depots, heterogeneous vehicles, and soft time windows. In this paper, we apply a heuristic based on clustering first-routing second(HCR) to a real-world large dial-a-ride problem from Maryland Transit Administration(MTA). MTA's real operation is compared with the results of developed heuristic for 24 cases. The objective function of the proposed model is to minimize the total cost composed of the service provider's cost and the customers' inconvenience cost. For the comparison, the objective function values of HCR do not include waiting cost, delay cost, and excess ride cost. The objective function values from HCR are better than those from MTA's operation for all cases. This result shows that our heuristic method can make the real operation better and more efficient.

An economic ship routing means to sail a ship with a goal of minimizing the fuel consumption by utilizing weather forecast information, and various such systems have been recently studied. For a successful economic ship routing system, an efficient algorithm is needed to search an optimal geographical path, and most of the previous systems were approaching to that problem through a minimal static-cost path search algorithm based on the Dijkstra algorithm. To apply that kind of search algorithm, the cost of every edge assigned with the estimated fuel consumption should be constant. However, that assumption is not practical at all considering that the actual fuel consumption is determined by the weather condition when the ship will pass the edge. To overcome such a limitation, we propose a new optimal ship routing system based on a minimal dynamic-cost path search algorithm by properly modifying the Dijkstra algorithm. In addition, we propose a method which efficiently reduces the search space by using the $A^*$ algorithm to decrease the running time. We compared our system with the shortest path-based sailing method over ten testing routes and observed that the former reduced the estimated fuel consumption than the latter by 2.36% on average and the maximum 4.82% with little difference of estimated time of arrival.

Energy conservation is a vital issue in wireless sensor networks. Recently, employing mobile sinks for data gathering become a pervasive trend to deal with this problem. The sink can follow stochastic or pre-defined paths; however the controlled mobility pattern nowadays is taken more into consideration. In this method, the sink moves across the network autonomously and changes its position based on the energy factors. Although the sink mobility would reduce nodes' energy consumption and enhance the network lifetime, the overhead caused by topological changes could waste unnecessary power through the sensor field. In this paper, we proposed EEDARS, an energy-efficient dual-sink algorithm with role switching mechanism which utilizes both static and mobile sinks. The static sink is engaged to avoid any periodic flooding for sink localization, while the mobile sink adaptively moves towards the event region for data collection. Furthermore, a role switching mechanism is applied to the protocol in order to send the nearest sink to the recent event area, hence shorten the path. This algorithm could be employed in event-driven and multi-hop scenarios. Analytical model and extensive simulation results for EEDARS demonstrate a significant improvement on the network metrics especially the lifetime, the load and the end-to-end delay.

In this paper, we propose a multi-path construction scheme to improve the survivability of a multicast session in military hybrid networks. A military hybrid network consists of a static backbone network and multiple mobile stub networks where some nodes are frequently susceptible to be disconnected due to link failure and node mobility. To improve the survivability of multicast sessions, we propose a construction scheme of ${\kappa}$ redundant multi-paths to each receiver. In order to take account of different characteristics of static and mobile networks, we propose quite different multi-path setup approaches for the backbone and stub networks, respectively, and combine them at the boundary point called gateway. We prove that our proposed scheme ensures that each receiver of a multicast session has ${\kappa}$ redundant paths to the common source. Through simulations, we evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes from three aspects : network survivability, recovery cost, and end-to-end delay.
Such conventional maritime communication technologies as radio have short some comings in their transmission quality. It can be overcome by wireless channels provided by satellites such as INMARSAT, which nevertheless suffer from the high costs. In this paper, we propose a novel technology resolving the above problems, featuring in the establishment of maritime communication networks with multi-hop structures. The inter vessel and ship-to- shore networks previously modeled after MANET are remodeled by SANET (Ship Ad Hoc Networks) in the present work. Fan-shaped Search Zone Routing (FSR) protocol also is presented, which utilizes not only static geographical information including the locations of ports and the navigations of courses but also the unique characteristics of ships in terms of mobile nodes. The FSR finds the fan-shaped search zone on which the shortest path is located. The performance of LAR protocol is compared with that of FSR in several ways. First, FSR does not make use of a type of control packets as beaconing data, resulting in a full utilization of the bandwidth of the wireless channels. Second, the delivery rate by the FSR is 100% for the fan-shaped search zone includes at least one route between source and destination nodes on its border line, where as that of LAR has been turned out to be 64%. Third, the optimality of routes searched by the FSR is on a 97% level. Of all, the FSR shows a better performance than LAR by about 50%.
In the wireless Internet, it is so restrictive to use the IPSec. The MIPv4 IPSec's path cannot include wireless links. That is, the IPSec of the wireless Internet cannot protect an entire path of Host-to-Host connection. Also wireless circumstance keeps a path static during the shorter time, nevertheless, the IKE for IPSec SA agreement requires relatively long delay. The certificate management of IPSec PKI security needs too much burden. This means that IPSec of the wireless Internet is so disadvantageous. Our paper is to construct the Mobile IPSec proper to the wireless Internet which provides the host-to-host transport mode service to protect even wireless links as applying excellent WP-IBE scheme. For this, Mobile IPSec requires a dynamic routing over a path with wireless links. FA Forwarding is a routing method for FA to extend the path to a newly formed wireless link. The FA IPSec SA for FA Forwarding is updated to comply the dynamically extended path using Source Routing based Bind Update. To improve the performance of IPSec, we apply efficient and strong future Identity based Weil Pairing Bilinear Elliptic Curve Cryptography called as WP-IBE scheme. Our paper proposes the modified protocols to apply 6 security-related algorithms of WP-IBE into the Mobile IPSec. Particularly we focus on the protocols to be applied to construct ESP Datagram.

Multicast communication has been widely used in the Internet. However, multicast communication is vulnerable to DoS attack due to static router configuration. In this paper, HMC, a hopping multicast communication method based on SDN, is proposed to tackle this problem. HMC changes the multicast tree periodically and makes it difficult for the attackers to launch an accurate attack. It also decreases the probability of multicast communication being attacked by DoS and in the meanwhile, the QoS constrains are not violated. In this research, the routing problem of HMC is proven to be NP-complete and a heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve it. Experiments show that HMC has the ability to resist DoS attack on multicast route effectively. Theoretically, the multicast compromised probability can drop more than 0.6 when HMC is adopt. In addition, experiments demonstrate that HMC achieves shorter average multicast delay and better robustness compared with traditional method, and more importantly, it better defends DoS attack.
In this paper, we address the question of dynamic network provisioning for time-varying traffic rates, with the objective of maximizing the system throughput. We assume that the network is capable of providing bandwidth guaranteed traffic tunnels for an ingress-egress pair and present an approach that (1) updates the tunnel routes and (2) adjusts the tunnel bandwidths, in an incremental, adaptive manner, based on the variations in the incoming traffic. First, we consider a simpler scenario where tunnel routes are fixed, and present an approach for adjusting the tunnel bandwidths dynamically. We show, through simulations, that our dynamic bandwidth assignment algorithm significantly outperforms the optimal static bandwidth provisioning policy, and yields a performance close to that of the optimal dynamic bandwidth provisioning policy. We also propose an adaptive route update algorithm, which can be used in conjunction with our dynamic bandwidth assignment policy, and leads to further improvement in the overall system performance.
In ad hoc networks, the link survivability is firstly considered if a routing between two mobile nodes takes place through wireless environments, because all of mobile nodes participating in a connection dynamically move to anywhere. Also, mobile nodes have multi-role to implement a communication without a static system supported by wired networks. Hence, it is difficult that all mobile nodes continuously provide a reliable connection when the nodes operate each role for the connection. Therefore, it is desired to maximize the lifetime of a route as long as possible for the reliable communication. In this paper, we propose a proactive link management scheme that can provide the continuous route supported by the link handover. It consider the wireless link quality and the power lifetime of a node so that the link handover is implemented for the link survivability without disconnecting the route on the communication.
