Rubber materials are extensively used in various machine design application, mainly for vibration/shock/noise control devices. Over the years an enormous effort has been put into developing procedures to provide properties of rubber material for design function. However, there are still a lot of difficulties in the understanding of dynamic characteristics of the rubber components in compression. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of rubber materials for anti-vibration under compression were investigated. Dynamic and static tests for rubber material with 3 different hardness were performed. In dynamic tests, non-resonance method, impedance method, was used to obtain the complex modulus(storage modulus and loss factor) and the effects of static pre-strain on the dynamic characteristics were investigated. Also, a relation equation between linear dynamic and nonlinear static behavior of rubber material was discussed and its usefulness to predict their combined effects was investigated.
The optimum drive control method have to be developed to exhibit the use object contributed trust, accuracy, amenity and energy save of product. To develop the optimum drive control method is, first, grasped the static characteristics for the entire system combined each element which consists the machine and performed the dynamic characteristics explanation based on the satisfied result which acquires at the static characteristics explanation. According to this explanation, the response of the system shows same characteristics tendency and the increasing same quantify comparing to response change of each element. So the dynamic response of the entire system shows different. Therefore this study performs the static and the dynamic characteristic explanation of entire system and each element for using air-conditioning system of solar energy based on the performed result from now on, so for application of this result.

Herringbone groove journal bearing (HGJB) is developed to improve the static and dynamic performances of hydrodynamic journal bearing. In this study, static and dynamic compressible isothermal lubrication problems are analyzed by the finite element method together with the Newton-Raphson iterative procedure. This analysis is introduced for prediction of the static and dynamic characteristics of air lubricated HGJB for various bearing configurations. The bearing load characteristics and dynamic characteristics are dependent on geometric parameters such as asymmetric ratio, groove depth ratio, groove width ratio and groove angle.

Experiments were conducted to determine the structural static and dynamic characteristics of air foil bearings. The housing of the bearing on the journal was driven by an impact hammer which was used to simulate dynamic forces acting on the bump loll with various leading condition. Two different bump foils (Cu-coated bump and viscoelastic bump) were tested and the static and dynamic coefficients of two bump foils compared, based on the experimental measurements for a wide range of operating conditions. The static and dynamic characteristics of air foil bearings were extracted 0rpm the frequency response function by least square method and IV(Instrumental Variable) method. The experiment was tested at 0rpm and $10,000\~16,000rpm$, and loaded on $50\~150N$. From the test results, the possibility of the application of high load and high speed condition is suggested.

Since the spindle bearing systme is the main source of the total cutting point compliance of machine tool structures, in this work, the static and dynamic characteristics of the spndle bearing systme driven by the gear located on the bearing span were investigated using analytical and finite elemtn methods to improve the performance of the spindle bearing system. Based on the theretical results, a specially designed prototype spindle bvearing systme was manufactured. Using the manufactured spindle bearing system, the static and dynamic characteristics were measured. From the comparison of the experimental results with the theoretical results, it was found that the finite elemetn method predicted well the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle bearing system.

Fluid dynamic bearings (FDBs) have been replacing ball bearings of the HDD spindle motor very rapidly. But there are several demerits of HDB, such as high friction torque, variable viscosity of the fluid lubricant depending on operating temperature, low stiffness, and etc. Eccentricity is one of the major parameters which affects the static and dynamic characteristics. As the static eccentricity is larger, the stiffness and the damping coefficients become bigger. But friction torque is relatively unaffected by the static eccentricity. This research proposes a new type of journal bearing with asymmetric journal grooves which results in better dynamic characteristics. The static and dynamic characteristics of the new journal bearing are investigated by solving the Reynolds' equation with FEM, and the transient analysis is performed to predict the dynamic behavior of rotor by solving the equations of motion of a HDD spindle system with Runge-Kutta method. The result shows that the proposed Journal bearings have much bigger stiffness and damping coefficients compared with the conventional symmetric ones. And consequently, it has smaller whirl radius and tilting angle.
In this paper, the behavior of woven E-glass fabric composite laminate was experimentally investigated under quasi-static indentation and high velocity impact by flat-ended, hemispherical, conical (cone angle of $37^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$) and ogival (CRH of 1.5 and 2.5) cylindrical perforators. Moreover, the results are compared in order to explore the possibility of extending quasi-static indentation test results to high velocity impact test results in different characteristics such as perforation mechanisms, performance of perforators, energy absorption, friction force, etc. The effects of perforator nose shape, nose length and nose-shank connection shapes were investigated. The results showed that the quasi-static indentation test has a great ability to predict the high velocity impact behavior of the composite laminates especially in several characteristics such as perforation mechanisms, perforator performance. In both experiments, the highest performance occurs for 2.5 CRH projectile and the lowest is related to blunt projectiles. The results show that sharp perforators indicate lower values of dynamic enhancement factor and the flat-ended perforator represents the maximum dynamic enhancement factor among other perforators. Moreover, damage propagation far more occurred in high velocity impact tests then quasi-static tests. The highest damage area is mostly observed in ballistic limit of each projectile which projectile deviation strongly increases this area.
The object of this paper is to investigate collapse characteristics of CF/Epoxy(Carbon Fiber/Epoxy resin) composite tubes on the change of interlaminar number and fiber orientation angle of outer and to evaluate reappearance of collapse characteristics on the change of tension strength of fibers under static and impact axial compression loads. When a CF/Epoxy composite tube is mushed, static/impact energy is consumed by friction between the loading plate and the splayed fiends of the tube, by fracture of the fibers, matrix and their interface. In general, CF/Epoxy tube with 6 interlaminar number(C-type) absorbed more energy than other tubes(A, B, D-types). The maximum collapse load seemed to increase as the interlaminar number of such tubes increases. The collapse mode depended upon orientation angle of outer of CF/Epoxy tubes and loading status(static/impact). Typical collapse modes of CF/Epoxy tubes are wedge collapse mode, splaying collapse mode and fragmentation collapse mode. The wedge collapse mode was shorn in case of CF/Epoxy tubes with 0$^{\circ}$ orientation angle of outer under static and impact loadings. The splaying collapse mode was shown in only case of CF/Epoxy tubes with 90$^{\circ}$ orientation angie or outer under static loadings, however in impact tests those were collapsed in fragmentation mode. So that CF/Epoxy tube with 6 interlaminar number and 90$^{\circ}$ outer orientation angle presented to the optimal collapse characteristics.

In this paper, we presented the quasi-static characteristics of novel microstrip lines with anisotropic grooved dielectric in finite metal. A quasi-static mode-matching method has been used to analyze this new structure and the simulation results are validated through comparison with other available results. The results in this paper show that it is possible to control the propagation characteristics of microstrip lines with the use of anisotropic grooved dielectric in finite metal. Also anisotropic grooved dielectric in microstrip line can be newly added to the design parameters of high performance three dimensional monolithic microwave circuits and other microwave applications.
Static electricity in electronics manufacturing plants causes the economic loss, yet it is one of the least understood and least recognized effects haunting the industry today. Today's challenge in semiconductor devices is to achieve greater functional density pattern and to miniaturize electronic systems of being more fragile by electrostatic discharges(ESD) phenomena. As the use of automatic handling equipment for static-sensitive semiconductor components is rapidly increased, most manufacturers need to be more alert to the problem of ESD. One of the most common causes of electrostatic damage is the direct transfer of electrostatic charge from the human body or a charged material to the static-sensitive devices. To evaluate the ESD hazards by charged human body and devices, in this paper, characteristics of electrostatic attenuation in domestic semiconductor devices is investigated and the voltage to cause electronic component failures is investigated by field-induced charged device model(FCDM) tester. The FCDM simulator provides a fast and inexpensive test that faithfully represents ESD hazards in plants. Also the results obtained in this paper can be used for the prevention of semiconductor failure from ESD hazards.
