과즙의 열처리에 따른 뜰보리수 과실주의 품질 및 항산화 특징 (Quality and antioxidant charactistics of Elaeagnus multiflora wine through the thermal processing of juice)

  • 뜰보리수 열매의 이용성 증대를 위하여 뜰보리수 과즙에 열처리 후 과실주를 제조하고 그 특성을 조사하였다. 뜰보리수 과즙을 발효하였을 때 9일 경과 시 pH는 3.32~3.33, 가용성고형물은 7.8~9.0 $^{\circ}Brix$, 환원당은 29.84~31.05 g/L, 생균수는 7.26~8.73 CFU/mL, 알코올은 11.0% 있었다. 열처리된 과즙이 열처리되지 않은 과즙보다 항산화 활성이 높았으며, 이에 상응하여 수용성 phenolics와 flavonoids 함량도 높았다. 한편 $120^{\circ}C$에서 30 min 열처리 후 발효시킨 과실주의 유리당은 fructose(0.42 g/L) 및 glucose(0.09 g/L)가 소량 검출되었으며, 주요 유기산은 lactic acid(7.32 g/L), malic acid(2.59 g/L), succinic acid(2.16 g/L) 및 oxalic acid(3.08 g/L) 있었고 주요 flavonols와 phenolic acids 화합물은 catechin(99.45 mg/L), epicatechin(264.55 mg/L), epigallocatechin(82.19 mg/L), gallic acid(6.44 mg/L) 및 salicylic acid(60.53 mg/L)가 검출되었다. 부가적으로 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성, ABTS 라디칼 소거활성 및 FRAP 활성은 각각 70.47%, 65.93% 및 1.254% 이였다. 이 결과로부터 뜰보리수 과즙의 열처리에 따른 새로운 형태의 과실주를 개발할 수 있을 것으로 추측된다.

Geotechnical Engineering Progress with the Incheon Bridge Project

  • Incheon Bridge, 18.4 km long sea-crossing bridge, will be opened to the traffic in October 2009 and this will be the new landmark of the gearing up north-east Asia as well as the largest & longest bridge of Korea. Incheon Bridge is the integrated set of several special featured bridges including a magnificent cable-stayed girder bridge which has a main span of 800 m width to cross the navigation channel in and out of the Port of Incheon. Incheon Bridge is making an epoch of long-span bridge designs thanks to the fully application of the AASHTO LRFD (load & resistance factor design) to both the superstructures and the substructures. A state-of-the-art of the geotechnologies which were applied to the Incheon Bridge construction project is introduced. The most Large-diameter drilled shafts were penetrated into the bedrock to support the colossal superstructures. The bearing capacity and deformational characteristics of the foundations were verified through the world's largest static pile load test. 8 full-scale pilot piles were tested in both offshore site and onshore area prior to the commencement of constructions. Compressible load beyond 30,000 tonf pressed a single 3 m diameter foundation pile by means of bi-directional loading method including the Osterberg cell techniques. Detailed site investigation to characterize the subsurface properties had been carried out. Geotextile tubes, tied sheet pile walls, and trestles were utilized to overcome the very large tidal difference between ebb and flow at the foreshore site. 44 circular-cell type dolphins surround the piers near the navigation channel to protect the bridge against the collision with aberrant vessels. Each dolphin structure consists of the flat sheet piled wall and infilled aggregates to absorb the collision impact. Geo-centrifugal tests were performed to evaluate the behavior of the dolphin in the seabed and to verify the numerical model for the design. Rip-rap embankments on the seabed are expected to prevent the scouring of the foundation. Prefabricated vertical drains, sand compaction piles, deep cement mixings, horizontal natural-fiber drains, and other subsidiary methods were used to improve the soft ground for the site of abutments, toll plazas, and access roads. Light-weight backfill using EPS blocks helps to reduce the earth pressure behind the abutment on the soft ground. Some kinds of reinforced earth like as MSE using geosynthetics were utilized for the ring wall of the abutment. Soil steel bridges made of corrugated steel plates and engineered backfills were constructed for the open-cut tunnel and the culvert. Diverse experiences of advanced designs and constructions from the Incheon Bridge project have been propagated by relevant engineers and it is strongly expected that significant achievements in geotechnical engineering through this project will contribute to the national development of the longspan bridge technologies remarkably.

한국연안의 해상교통류분석(I) (Macroscopic Analysis of Traffic Flow in the Korean Coastal Waterway)

  • Generally, the development of shipping is characterized by the amount of traffic flow (traffic volume) and seaborne cargo in the sea. Movement of ships is an essential element of constructing the traffic flow which is represented the dynamic movement of ships in the sea, but on the other band the numbers of arriving and departing the port is the basic factor consisting of the static movement of ships. The amount of cargoes by coastal vessels and ocean trade vessels have increased tremendously with the great growth of the Korean economy these days. This increase of the seaborne cargoes has made the Korean coastal traffic flow so congested that this can be a cause of large pollution as well as great marine casualities such as a loss of human lives and properties . And also the future coastal traffic is expected to increase considerably according to our economic development and high dependence upon foreign trade. Under the circumstance, to devise the safety of coastal traffic flow and to take a proper step of a efficient navigation, there is a necessity for analyzing and surveying the coastal traffic trend and the characteristics of cargo movement. In order to grasp the dynamic movement of ships in the Korean coast, O/D analysis is executed. This paper aims to secure the basic data necessary for a comprehensive plan and estimation of vessel traffic management system for the enhancement of safety, order and efficiency of vessel traffic in the Korean coast. The analyzed results of the traffic flow and seaborne cargoes of the Korean coast are summarized as follows : 1) The congestion by the vessels occurred around the ports such as-in proportion of ship's number (proportion of tonnage) -Incheon 18.5%(14.8%), Pohang 5.9% (9.9%), Samil 5.2%(8.3%), Mokpo 8.6%(0.8%), Pusan 13.5%(36.4%), Ulsan 9.1%(16.2%). 2) It is found that the area adjacent to Incheon, Pusan, Ulsan, Channel of Hanryu and South-western area are heavily congested. 3) It is confirmed thatthe area adjacent to Incheon, Pusan, Ulsan, Channel of Hanryu and South-western area are heavily congested. 3) It is confirmed that the coastal vessels are main elements constituting the coastal traffic and that there are much traffic flow among five ports as following through the precise O/D analysis of ship's coastal movement. Incheon-Samil, Ulsan, Pusan, Jeju Pusan -Samil, Ulsan, Incheon, Jeju Pohang -Samil, Inchoen, Jeju Pohang -Samil, Incheon, Jeju Ulsan -Samil, Incheon, Jeju Samil -Ulsan, Pusan, Incheon 4) The amount of cargoes to abroad are in proportion about 81% of total and the amount of coastal cargoes are about 19%. Of those, cargoes in and out to Japan are about 26% and to South-east Asia are about 27%. 5) The chief items of foreign cargoes are oil(38.33%), iron ore(13.98%), bituminoous coal(12.74%), grain(8.02%), lumber(6.45%) in the import cargoes and steel material(21.96%), cement(17.16%), oil(6.81%), fertilizer(3.80%) in the export cargoes. 6) The 80.5% of total export cargoes and 92.4% of total import cargoes are flowed in five main ports. 7) The chief items of coastal cargoes are oil (42.45%), cement(16.86%), steel material (6.49%), anthracite(6.31%), mineral product(4.3%), grain, and fertilizer. Almost 92.24% of total import and export oil cargoes in Korea is loaded and unloaded at the port of Samil & Ulsan.

  • 기체 수송층 흡수탑과 기포 유동층 재생탑으로 구성된 $CO_2$ 회수 공정에 대한 해석의 첫 단계로 이 공정에서 고체 순환특성을 해석하였다. 흡수제 고체 입자에 대한 입도별 물질수지를 해석하여 공정의 흐름에서 고체 흐름량과 입도 분포를 결정하였다. 실험실 규모 공정(흡수탑: 직경 25 mm, 높이 6 m; 재생탑: 직경 0.1 m, 높이 1.2 m)에서 고체순환특성을 모사하였다. 흡수탑의 입도분포는 재생탑의 입도분포와 거의 같았다. 흡수탑에서 유속과 정체층 높이가 증가함에 따라서 고체순환량과 새 흡수제 주입량은 증가하였다. 반면에 흡수탑 내 입자의 평균입경은 감소하였다. 흡수탑사이클론의 절단입도가 증가함에 따라서 고체순환속도는 감소하였으며, 새 흡수제 주입속도와 흡수탑 내 입자의 평균 입경은 증가하였다. 흡수제 입자의 마모계수가 증가함에 따라서 고체순환속도는 증가하고, 새 흡수제 주입속도는 증가하며, 흡수탑 내 입자의 평균입경은 감소하였다.

AIP면 유동측정 정확도 향상을 위한 가스터빈엔진 입구덕트 설계 연구 (Design Study of Engine Inlet Duct for Measurement Improvement of the Flow Properties on AIP)

  • 가스터빈엔진의 성능시험을 위한 엔진 입구덕트를 1D 기법으로 Sizing 하였으며, 압축기 입구유동측정면(AIP, Aerodynamic interface plane)에서 경계층 두께를 최소화하고, 코어부 마하수분포가 균일하도록 설계하였다. 노즈콘 형상은 Haack-series 모델을 적용하고, 덕트 안쪽과 바깥쪽 면적변화율이 동일하도록 입구덕트 채널 바깥반경($r_o$)를 결정하여 설계목적을 구현하고자 하였으며, 이러한 형상이 설계목표에 부합하는지 확인하기 위하여 CFD를 수행하였다. AIP면에서 정압력분포는 최대값과 최소값 차이가 0.16% 이었으며, 마하수분포에서 경계층은 덕트반경 길의 2% 이내로 설계목표를 만족하였다. 이때 균일유동 코어부는 채널높이의 95% 이상이었다. 또한 입구유동의 전온도를 측정하기 위한 키엘 전 온도레이크 위치는 온도 회복계수가 최대화 되도록 마하수가 0.1 이하 지역인 노즈콘 전방 100 mm 이내이어야 함을 확인하였다.

A study on the growth mechanism of Burger King based on dynamic models of success and failure of businesses

  • Purpose - This study is to propose a creative idea for constant business growth and development by examining characteristics of business outcomes by phase, which are "growth" and "erosion and stagnation," respectively. Research design, data, methodology - It is necessary to identify an occurrence of crisis and its diffusion with a dynamic model in order to identify a success and failure of businesses in an organic way, not on a binary structure. The static perspective is to understand a crisis as a simply one-time event or as a linear causation. Thus, it has a limited understanding of the overall situation and has limits to investigating a foundational cause and developing long-term countermeasures. On the contrary, the dynamic perspective is to understand the crisis as circulation process of the overall system. Thus, it divides elements of the crisis as external and internal ones to understand it as the causal relationship of each element. Results - During the growth period of Burger King, the company promoted its brand very successfully with aggressive and creative marketing activities. However, due to the founder's disposal of management rights and the following changes in the management, the company had no choice but to lose focus on its business philosophy and brand management, and eventually it had to face the big crisis (resonance) which was delisting from the stock market because of the external threat; well-being trend. However, Burger King resumed lifting on the stock exchange by making great efforts to clearly identify the current issues and seek solutions. Under the spirit of "perseverance" and its slogan "Have it your way" the company is now going head to head with McDonald's in the North American region and emerging countries. Conclusions - Then, what is the most crucial factor in the success and failure of businesses? Answers may vary, however, as learned from the case study of Burger King, corporations should inspect the present and focus on developing a long-term strategy for the future and actively fulfill the actions. McDonald's may not be able to innovate by itself in the future as it may become routinized to the growth. There will be chances of winning if we change conditions of individuals or organizations to an organic system in terms of being creative. There is a hopeful message here that an individual or small business may have more advantages in the era of the idea and innovation.

디지털 사이니지의 특성에 따른 영상콘텐츠의 변화 -버스와 지하철 내 디지털 사이니지를 중심으로 (Expression of image contents based on property of digital signage - Focuses on the Digital Signage in Public Transport)

  • 기존의 사인, 표지판, 게시판의 디지털화로 나타난 형태를 우리는 디지털 사이니지라고 한다. 디지털 사이니지가 기존의 사인과 가장 다른 점은 기존의 사인은 콘텐츠 변경에 있어 한 번 설치되고 내용이 바뀔 때마다 제거, 다시 설치되는 물리적인 과정을 거쳤다면, 디지털 사이니지는 한번의 설치로 다양한 콘텐츠를 유연하게 출력할 수 있다는 점이다. 그리고 디자인과 움직임이 화려한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 담을 수 있게 되었다. 이렇듯 디지털 사이니지는 단순히 미디어의 기능 및 기술적 차원의 변화만이 아니라 콘텐츠의 변화, 표현 양식의 변화, 수용 방식의 변화 그리고 사회적, 정서적 변화를 가져왔다고 할 수 있다. 기존 사인에서 디지털 사이니지로 전환하려는 시대적 필연성에 맞춰 이를 위하여 본격적인 연구와 분석이 필요하다. 디지털 사이니지는 시간과 장소에 영향을 많이 받는 매체로, 장소와 시간에 맞는 맞춤형 콘텐츠의 제공해야만 그 역할을 잘 활용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 버스와 지하철 내의 디지털 사이니지의 콘텐츠로 범위를 정하였다. 대중교통이라고 하는 특성을 파악하고 시간과 장소가 함께 기획된 콘텐츠가 필요하다. 이러한 디지털 사이니지에 맞는 전용 콘텐츠의 개발은 장소, 시간과의 조화를 이루고, 수용자에게는 다양한 경험을 제공하고 소통이 가능한 차별화된 디지털 사이니지만의 영역이 발전하게 될 것이며, 나아가 새로운 미디어로써 재미와 아트가 접목된 스마트한 사이니지로의 발전을 기대해 볼 수 있다.

NaCl 수용액에 담근 Hydroxyapatite 코팅된 타이타늄 시편의 표면 변화 (The Surface Characteristic Changes of Hydroxyapatite Coated Ti Disc When Immersed in NaCl Solution)

  • Hydroxyapatite 코팅 임플란트의 세포반응성을 증가시키기 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 Hydroxyapatite 코팅된 타이타늄 시편을 NaCl 수용액에 다양한 기간 동안 담그어 놓았을 때 발생하는 표면거칠기, 표면접촉각, 표면에너지 등의 표면 특성의 변화를 관찰하였다. Hydroxyapatite 코팅 타이타늄 시편을 0.9% NaCl 용액에 담근 후 각각 7일, 14일, 21일간 $37^{\circ}C$를 유지하였다. 담그지 않은 동일한 시편을 대조군으로 하였다.(n=3) 모든 시편을 공기 중에서 완전 건조 후 공초점레이저주사현미경(CLSM)를 이용하여 표면거칠기를 측정하였다. 증류수를 시편 표면에 떨어뜨린 후 표면접촉각을 video contact angle analyzer를 이용하여 측정하였고 세 가지 용액을 떨어뜨려 접촉각을 측정하여 표면에너지를 산출하였다. 표면을 관찰하기 위해 Field Emission-Scanning Electron Microscope 촬영을 시행하였다. 본 연구 결과 Hydroxyapatite 시편을 Nacl 수용액에 담그는 간단한 방법을 통해 표면거칠기 및 친수성이 증가하는 것을 관찰할 수 있으며, 이러한 표면특성의 개선을 통하여 세포반응성이 증가하는 것을 기대할 수 있다.

韓國 煙草載培地域의 地理學的 硏究 (A geographical study of the Korean Tobacoo forming region)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify how the Korean tobacco farming region has been geographically formed by natural and cultural environments, and to examine and cultural environments, and to examine whether it can be recognized as a major part of agricultultural regions. The questions asked in this study are associated with the spatial diffusion of tobacco cultivation, the patterns and processes of the farming region from 1900 to 1960, and the regional characteristics of the concentrated farming area since 1960. The study is inductively approached and most data used were collected from old records and field works. The delineation of the tobacco farming region was derived by applying the concept of the uniform region. Tobacco was introduced through Japan during the years of Kwang Hae Kun (1616-1622). According to the old records, three places, Waekwan, Dongrae, and Ulsan, were the first tobacco raising areas. In the 1700's the well-known tobacco farming regions were scattered all around the nation in places like Jinan, Samdeung, Seongcheon, Gangdong, Yeongweol and Yeongyang. This distributon pattern suggests that tobacco farming in Korea developed spatially along main traffic routes before the 1700's. Untill the 1920's the pattern of tobacco regions was relatively static. Since the 1920's, it has shown a pattern of concentration in the Choongbuk province, where the new highly productive yellow tobacco has been introduced. It was not until the 1960's that yellow tobacco instead of the native variety came to be cultivated all over the country. In the 1960's, the tobacco farming region tended to be concentrated and localized in north western Choongnam, northern Cheonbuk, Choongbuk, and Kyeongbuk including Cheongsong, Andong, and Yeongyang. Since 1970, tobacco production has declined in some of the former major areas of cultivation in terms of its density, while there have appeared highly concentrated areas in Cheongsong and Andong, centered around Yeongyand. There has also emerged a secondary major concentrated area along the coast including such places as Kochang, Yeongkwang and Mooan. The appearance of the Yeongyang tobacco area as the most important core region can be described as follows; at first this area has the disadvantage of being in competition with other places for selling cash crops besides tobacco, because it is located in a mountain zone and it is far from the major metropolises of Seoul and Pusan. Thus has been formed the farming mentality that agricultural management makes the most profit on farming tobacco because tobacco is stable in price and selling routes. As a result of this longstanding belief, these areas (Yeongyang, Cheongsong and Andong) have developed into tobacco concentrated regions. Finally, the tobacco concentrated regions of Korea have changed through time. The factors affecting this change have been the kind of tobacco grown, the monopoly system, agricultural techniques and the expansion of arable land through the clearing of slopes. In conclusion, the research indicates that the localized and concentrated patterns of tobacco cultivation are geographically typical. Thus, recognition of tobacco farming region is important to understanding the agricultural region of Korea as a whole.

디자인 초기단계에서의 3차원 가상인간(Virtual Human) 활용에 관한 연구 - 지게차 레이아웃 결정 단계를 중심으로 (A Study on the Application of 3D Virtual Human in the prior stage of Design Works - With the emphasis on the determining design layout of a forklift truck)

  • 최근 들어 컴퓨터 환경의 비약적인 발전에 따라 디자인 과정도 크게 변화하고 있다. 자동차나 지게차 등과 같은 운송기기의 디자인이나, 작업장의 디자인의 경우 초기 디자인 과정중에서 레이아웃을 결정하고 인체 공학적인 데이터를 추출함에 있어서 설문이나 2D의 라인드로잉에 의존해 오고 있다. 이러한 방법의 문제점은 신뢰성이 많이 떨어질 뿐만 아니라 2D 마네킨을 사용하므로써 실제 사각으로 움직이는 인간 몸체의 움직임이 고려되지 못하며, 움직임 범위가 확정된다 하더라도 그 범위내에서의 움직임에 대한 인체의 피로도나 안락도 정도에 관해서는 전혀 측정할 수가 없었다. 컴퓨터 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 비약적인 발전은 일반 생활환경 뿐 아니라 디자인환경에서도 가상환경 (Virtual Environment) 이라는 큰 흐름을 가져 왔다. 특히 기존의 컴퓨터를 응용한 디자인에서는 Visualization이나, CAD&CAM을 통한 데이터의 교환이 주된 관심사였으나, 최근 들어 빠르게 소개되고 있는 가상환경에서는 디자인초기단계에서 디자인 레이아웃 결정 뿐 아니라 사용자가 느끼게 되는 미세한 감각까지도 데이터화할 수 있게되었다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같이 디자인에서 사용할 수 있는 가상환경의 일반적인 특성를 밝히고, 초기 디자인 과정에서 디지털화된 환경의 이용가능성을 모색하였다. 이러한 연구는 실제 지게차 디자인의 사례를 통하여 살펴보았으며 이 사례연구를 통하여 디자이너가 활용할 수 있는 가능성과 문제점이 무엇인지 밝혔다. 마지막으로 3차원 가상인간의 적용을 통해 초기 디자인 단계에서 새롭게 적용될 수 있는 디지털화 디자인 작업의 잇점에 대하여 논의 하였다.
