IPLAN을 이용한 STATCOM의 최적위치선정에 관한 연구 (Study for the selection of the optimal placement for STATCOM, using IPLAN)

  • This paper presents the selection of optimal placement for STATCOM (Static synchronous Compensator) which is one of the FACTS (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System) devices, considering line contingency. Line contingency ranking is gotten by using sensitivity of load margin. According to line contingency ranking line contingency was considered. And IOP (Index for selecting optimal Placement of STATCOM) is calculated by the variation of each bus's reactive mum for several line contingencies. The bus where has the biggest value of lOP is the most optimal placement to install STATCOM for voltage stability. IPLAN is used to program this part which get IOP. This study is carried out on the modified IEEE14 Bus Test System to confirm the efficiency of the method.

표준전동차 개발을 위한 구조체의 강도해석 (Bodyshell strength analysis for standard EMU)

  • The standardization urban transit project has been started by government and the Korean standard electrical railcar has been designed. The bodyshell of standard railcar is made of aluminium alloy. In the present paper, the design of its bodyshell is evaluated in the viewpoint of strength analysis. The loading condition is based on the 'Test Methods of Static Load for Body Structure of Electrical Multiple Unit', standard specification. The bodyshell of Korean standard EMU consist of longitudinal extrusion members which are double-skin structure type. The result in this paper is enough to satisfy strength requirement which is provided by standard specification. The comparison between actual experiment and analysis result will be presented in the next paper.

이축방향 유사정적 실험에 의한 이주형 철근콘크리트 원형 교각의 내진 성능평가 (Seismic Performance Assessment of RC Circular Column-Bent Piers Subjected to Bidirectional Quasi-Static Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내고속도로에서 많이 사용되고 있는 이주형 교각을 주하중방향에 따른 이축지진하중에서의 지진응답을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 실험체는 지름 400mm 높이 2,000mm인 이주형 원형 교각 6기 및 단주형 원형교각 1기를 제작하였으며, $0.1 f_{ck}A_g$ 크기의 축방향 하중작용하에서 횡방향 하중을 주하중방향을 교축방향과 교축방향으로 하여 이축으로 교번반복 재하하였다. 실험변수는 횡구속 철근비와 주하중방향으로 주하중이 교축방향인 실험체는 기존의 단주와 같이 하부에만 소성힌 지부가 발생하는 휨파괴 양상을 나타내었지만 주하중방향이 교축직각방향인 경우 교각의 하단부 뿐만 아니라 교각의 상부에서도 소성힌지가 발생하였으며, 주하중방향이 교축방향인 실험체보다 더 좋은 연성도를 나타내었다.

Influence of preparation depths on the fracture load of customized zirconia abutments with titanium insert

  • PURPOSE. This study evaluated the fracture load of customized zirconia abutments with titanium insert according to preparation depths, with or without 5-year artificial aging. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty-six identical lithium disilicate crowns (IPS e.max press) were fabricated to replace a maxillary right central incisor and cemented to the customized zirconia abutment with titanium insert on a $4.5{\times}10$ mm titanium fixture. Abutments were fabricated with 3 preparation depths (0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.9 mm). Half of the samples were then processed using thermocycling (temperature: $5-55^{\circ}C$, dwelling time: 120s) and chewing simulation (1,200,000 cycles, 49 N load). All specimens were classified into 6 groups depending on the preparation depth and artificial aging (non-artificial aging groups: N5, N7, N9; artificial aging groups: A5, A7, A9). Static load was applied at 135 degrees to the implant axis in a universal testing machine. Statistical analyses of the results were performed using 1-way ANOVA, 2-way ANOVA, independent t-test and multiple linear regression. RESULTS. The fracture loads were $539.28{\pm}63.11$ N (N5), $406.56{\pm}28.94$ N (N7), $366.66{\pm}30.19$ N (N9), $392.61{\pm}50.57$ N (A5), $317.94{\pm}30.05$ N (A7), and $292.74{\pm}37.15$ N (A9). The fracture load of group N5 was significantly higher than those of group N7 and N9 (P<.017). Consequently, the fracture load of group A5 was also significantly higher than those of group A7 and A9 (P<.05). After artificial aging, the fracture load was significantly decreased in all groups with various preparation depths (P<.05). CONCLUSION. The fracture load of a single anterior implant restored with lithium disilicate crown on zirconia abutment with titanium insert differed depending on the preparation depths. After 5-year artificial aging, the fracture loads of all preparation groups decreased significantly.

  • Quality assurance for embankment compaction is one of very important procedures to guarantee high quality construction. However, only sand replacement method (KS F2312) and static plate load test (KS F2310) which are conventional and tiresome methods are used to evaluate degree of compaction at construction fields. Recently, new types of devices such as the geogauge and the light falling weight deflectometer (LFWD), the soil impact hammer (CASPFOL) and dynamic cone penetration test etc. which are able to substitute for the conventional methods are begun to use to evaluate soil stiffness. In this study, a laboratory model test was performed to evaluate correlations among test results obtained from the new devices and to assess the potential use of them. All test results have correlations with relative density and water content. Especially, the coefficients of correlation between $E_G$ from the geogauge and $K_{30'}$ from the soil impact hammer and between $E_G$ from the geogauge and $E_{LFWD}$ from LFWD are more than 0.7 but those between the results from DCP and others are less than those between $E_{G{\cdot}}$ and $K_{30'}$ and $E_G$ and $E_{LFWD}$.

천연가스 생산기지 내 UPS시스템의 해석모델 개발 (Development of an Analysis Model for UPS System of LNG Receiving Terminal Facilities)

  • 천연가스 생산기지 내의 UPS시스템은 지진 시에도 기능성을 유지해야 하는 주요 설비 중 하나이다. 이 연구에서는 IEEE Std 693-2005 기준을 토대로 대형 진동대를 이용한 UPS시스템의 동특성 탐색시험을 수행하고 기기의 고유진동수와 모드감쇠, 모드형상 등을 도출하였다. 또한, 3축 시간이력시험을 통해 지진 시 기기의 거동 및 부재의 발생응력을 확인하였다. 유한요소모델을 생성하여 고유치해석을 수행하고 이를 동특성 탐색시험의 시험값과 비교, 분석하여 해석모델을 개선하고 자중해석과 응답스펙트럼 해석을 수행하여 조합응력을 3축 시간이력시험의 시험값과 비교하였다. 개선된 유한요소 해석모델의 동특성과 조합응력이 시험 결과와 유사함을 입증하여 개선된 UPS시스템 해석모델의 적합성을 제시하였다.

3축 이동하중을 고려한 충격계수 응답스펙트럼 개발 및 중소규모 RC 슬래브 노후교량 응답계수 분석 (Development of Impact Factor Response Spectrum with Tri-Axle Moving Loads and Investigation of Response Factor of Middle-Small Size-RC Slab Aged Bridges)

  • 본 논문에서는 노후된 중소규모 RC슬래브 교량에 대한 응답계수를 분석하였다. 이 응답계수는 진동수 기반 교량의 내하력 예측 모델에서 중요한 변수이며, 정적 및 동적 응답계수로 구성되어 있다. 정적 및 동적 응답계수는 교량의 현재와 이전(또는 설계) 상태의 진동수 변화와 충격 계수 변화에 따라 각각 결정된다. 여기서 충격계수 변화는 충격계수 응답스펙트럼에서 교량의 고유진동수에 따라 산출된다. 본 연구에서 고려한 총 4개의 대상교량은 지간길이가 12 m이고 시공 후 30년 이상 된 RC슬래브 노후 교량이다. 진동수 분석을 위해 덤프 트럭을 이용한 현장 동적 재하시험과 설계기반 FE모델을 이용한 고유치 해석을 통해 교량의 현재 및 설계 상태의 고유 진동수를 각각 도출하였다. 충격계수 응답스펙트럼 개발에 있어서 좀 더 현실적인 조건을 반영하기 위해 3축이동하중과 단순지지 및 양단고정 조건을 고려하였다. 분석 결과 응답계수는 0.21에서 0.91까지 광범위하게 분포하였고, 정적 응답계수가 총 응답계수 결과에 크게 기여한 반면 동적 응답계수는 결과에 작은 영향을 미쳤다. 1축 이동하중과 단순지지 조건에서의 응답계수와 비교해 보았을 때 최대 오차는 약 3%미만으로 매우 작게 나타났다.

  • Structural integrity of either a passenger car or a light truck is one of the basic requirements for a full vehicle engineering and development program. The results of the vehicle product performance are measured in terms of durability, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), crashworthiness and passenger safety. The level of performance of a vehicle directly affects the marketability, profitability and, most importantly, the future of the automobile manufacturer. In this study, we used the Virtual Proving Ground (VPG) approach for obtaining the dynamic stress or strain history and distribution. The VPG uses a nonlinear, dynamic, finite element code (LS-DYNA) which expands the application boundary outside classic linear, static assumptions. The VPG approach also uses realistic boundary conditions of tire/road surface interactions. To verify the predicted dynamic stress and fatigue critical region, a single bump run test, road load simulation, and field test have been performed. The prediction results were compared with experimental results, and the feasibility of the integrated life prediction methodology was verified.

  • This paper presents a subsequent research work on the roller design of IRB(isolation roller bearing) seismic isolation device presented in Part 1 by focusing on heat treatment. The hardness and friction factor are very important factors of material and after-treatment process selection. Normally, roller bearing consists of roller and retainer. The roller gets high pressure constantly, while the retainer gets tensile and compressive stress. Therefore, sensitive material selection and heat treatment of each part is quite important. In this experimental evaluation, carbon steel, chrome special steel and others are employed and their characteristics after heat treatment are identified. Each material is prepared by refining high frequency heat treatment. The friction factor and static load capacity of manufactured material are experimentally identified and destructive test of material is processed. Optimal material and heat treatment conditions for IRB roller bearing are determined based on experiment results.

  • This paper introduces the design and control method of braking chopper circuit which can supply input power to ventilation inverter of traction control system. The DC input voltage from auxiliary block (static inverter) is normally used as an input of ventilation inverter. It converts DC input to AC output voltage to drive cooling fans for traction control system and traction motors. The electrical braking force is very important for high speed train to guarantee safety even though the train is running in the dead section where the pantograph voltage is not supplied. When the high speed train decelerate speed in dead section, the regenerative energy is dissipated by braking resistor. This paper proposed the braking chopper control method to implement rheostatic braking function and the appropriate chopper circuit for supplying voltage source to ventilation inverter during rheostatic braking mode. The proposed chopper circuit makes it possible for traction control system to regenerate power continuously regardless of the existence of pantograph voltage. The feasibility of proposed braking chopper control and circuit were proven by inertia load test and actual train field test.
