Performance Analysis of the Rubber Belt type CVT System (고무 벨트식 무단변속기 시스템의 성능분석)

  • CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) is one of the most promising candidates for the future automobile transmission because of its continuously variable gear ratio and reduced shift shock. It is also possible to operate the power source at its high efficiency region with CVT. The CVT system consists of thrust plate, driving pulley, belt, driven pulley, and preload spring of output shaft. In this paper, the dynamic modeling of a CVT system is completed to obtain the static performances of CVT system. A simulator is implemented on Matlab(Simulink), which can analyse the static performances of a CVT system. The methods for improving the total efficiency of a motorcycle system are also proposed based on the simulation results. In this study we increase the capacity factor of CVT up to the three times of default specification.

Recrystallization Controlled Deformation of AISI 4140 (AISI 4140 강재의 재결정 제어변형)

  • The static softening behavior of AISI 4140 could be characterized by the hot torsion test in the temperature ranges of 10$0^{\circ}C$~120$0^{\circ}C$ and strain rate ranges of 0.05/sec~5/sec. Deformation efficiency which was based on dynamic materials model was calculated from flow stress curves obtained continuous deformation. Interrupted deformation was performed with 2 pass deformation in the pass strain ranges of 0.25{{{{ epsilon _p}}}} ~3{{{{ epsilon _p}}}} and interrupted time ranges of 0.5~100sec. The dependences of process variables pass strain ({{{{ epsilon _i}}}}) stain rate ({{{{ {. } atop {$\varepsilon$ } }}}}) temperature (T) and interpass time ({{{{ {t }_{i } }}}}) on static recrystallization (SRX) and metadynamic recrystallization .(MDRX) could be indicidually predicted from the modified Avrami's equations. Comparison of the softening kinetics between MDRX and SRX showed that the rate of MDRX was more rapid than that of SRX for the same deformation variables. Controlled multipass deformations were performed using deformation efficiency static and metadynamic recrystallization of AISI 4140.

  • In this work, Scalar Passive code in Lattice Boltzmann Method was employed to simulate mixing performance of Passive mixer in a micro-channel. It physically analyzed stream line and Pressure drop for passive mixer in a micro-channel. The flow characteristics in a micro-channel was a function of Peclet number. The results indicated that the size of static element was more effect on the mixing than the number of static element and the distance of static elements.

  • With many changes such as the increase in telemarketing, internet marketing and enforcement of bancassurance, the Korean life insurance companies have undergone a startling transformation. The purpose of this paper is to measure and analyse the static/dynamic efficiency of Korean life insurance companies employing Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). As the result of the static efficiency analysis, we provide CCR, BCC and scale efficiency, return to scale, and reference set of Korean life insurance companies in 2004. And we also describe about the trend and stability of their efficiency for 7 years(1998-2004) in the dynamic efficiency analysis.

Effects of Process Variables on Static and Metadynamic Sofetning of SCM 440 (SCM 440 강재의 정적 및 준동적 연화에 미치는 공정변수의 영향)

Interrupted deformation was performed with 2 pass deformation in the pass strain ranges of 0.25$\varepsilon$p~3$\varepsilon$p and interrupted time ranges of 0.5~100sec.   • Generally, the chassis of an indoor RAC is composed of a rear-guider and a stabilizer. The aerodynamic performance of a cross-flow fan is strongly influenced by the various design factors of the chassis of an indoor RAC. The purpose of this paper is to select the optimum design factors through the aerodynamic performance of a cross-flow fan. The design factors are the leading angle of a rear-guider (${\theta}_1$), a stabilizer setup angle(${\theta}_2$), a rear-guider clearance(${\epsilon}_1$), and a stabilizer clearance(${\epsilon}_2$), respectively. As a result, the optimum design factors of an indoor RAC can be presented as a combination of ${\theta}_1=33^{\circ}$, ${\theta}_2=55^{\circ}$, ${\epsilon}_1=6{\sim}8mm$, and ${\epsilon}_2=7mm$ through the analysis of a static pressure coefficient and a static pressure efficiency.

  • For the combination of MRI and magnetic particle hyperthermia(MPH), we investigated the relative heating efficiency with respect to the strength of the static magnetic field under which the magnetic nanoparticles are to be heated by RF magnetic field. We performed nanoparticle heating experiments at the fringe field of 3T MRI magnet with applying the RF magnetic field perpendicularly to the static magnetic field. The static field strengths were 0T, 0.1T, 0.2T, and 0.3T. To prevent the coil heat from conducting to the nanoparticle suspension, we cooled the heating solenoid coil with temperature-controlled water with applying heat insulators between the solenoid coil and the nanoparticle container. We observed significant decrease of heat generation, up to 6% at 0.3T(100% at 0T), due to the magnetic saturation of the nanoparticles of 15 nm diameter under the static field. We think MPH is still feasible at low magnetic field lower than 0.3T if stronger RF magnetic field generation is permitted.

  • This paper presents a comparative operating characteristics of static var compensator(SVC) and static synchronous compensator(STATCOM) for compensating the reactive power in the Jeju power system. There are two kinds of reactive power compensating systems, which are active and passive system in the applications of the line commutated converter type high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC). In the Jeju power system, two STATCOMs as active compensating system have been operating. Even though STATCOM has good performance compared with SVC, economical efficiency of former system is not good to the latter system. So, it is necessary to examine the performance and economical efficiency depend on the intention before appling the system. To compare the operating characteristics of two systems in the Jeju power system, simulations have been carried out for case studies that both of the HVDC system have transient state by using PSCAD/EMTDC program.

  • It is necessary to eliminate the electric static for the prevention of disasters by electric static discharge, the improvement of production efficiency, the protection of a sensitive electronic devices in the variable manufacturing processes. Then it is handled for elimination of electric static in the painting plant, the film manufacturing plant, the producing semi-conductor factory. This study described on the ideal condition of electric static elimination efficiency by changing of the length of voltage input type eliminator's bar, the length of copper pipe and the gap of electrode and the existence of explosion by inflammable gas with that conditions. As the result, the electric static elimination efficiency has the most ideal value at the 8-11(mm) gap of the earth electrode and needle type electrode each elimination bar and there is not explode at the explosive experiment of inflammable gas with the ideal elimination bar. We can consider that there are some data which are needed for elimination efficiency and it will be able to protect the occurrence of explosion accident inflammable nas in the industrial fields.

  • Three-dimensional experimental analysis was conducted in the pulverizer simplified isothermal model. The experiment model was constructed on a 1/3.5 scale of 500MW pulverizer. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of design parameters on the pulverized coal separator efficiency. Where used pulverized coal separator design parameters are guide vane angle, static classifier angle, dynamic classifier rpm. Taguchi method was used to find the effective design parameters related to pulverized coal separator efficiency. The results of the experiment showed that guide vane angle and dynamic classifier rpm were the design key parameters. In addition to the total number of experiment cases were reduced by Taguchi method.
