  • Purpose: This study attempted to analyze how the ego state of flight attendants affects their job satisfaction and customer orientation using Berne's (1966) transactional analysis and further compare the difference between job satisfaction and customer orientation depending on demographic characteristics, position, and ego state. Methods: The data was collected by using the structured questionnaires to flight attendant of major airline companies. The proposed research model is tested using 164 valid questionnaires using SPSS 23 and Smart PLS 2. Results: This research indicated the only free child ego sate among ego state factors of flight attendant was found to have a positive impact on job satisfaction. In the relationship between ego states and customer orientation, all ego state factors were found to have a significant influence on customer orientation. Conclusions: The study offered a theoretical and empirical foundation for future research by empirically identifying the relationship between ego state factors and customer orientation in the in-flight service and suggested the strategic implications to increase job satisfaction and customer orientation based on the psychology and ego state of flight attendant.

  • Case that long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites of fiber orientation situation of a direction state is J=1 that is direction of tensile strength of another state appeared highest. And theoretical tensile strength value of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites board of fiber orientation situation of a direction state appeared similarly with tensile strength value that long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites board of fiber orientation situation of a direction state. Also, than case that efficiency of fiber orientation situation of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites is J=1 in it is J=0.1 of fiber orientation situation effect of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites about 60% high appear.

  • Purpose - This research examined the relationship between business orientation and business goals and satisfaction of Korean-American business owners. Research design/data/methodology - Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Small Business Orientation (SBO) were the theoretical constructs underlying this research. The responses from 200 Korean-American business owners who participated in the 2005 National Minority Business Owner Surveys were used for data analysis. Results - Noneconomic business goal was positively related to business owners' SBO tendency, and those with a SBO tendency had the higher business satisfaction than those with EO. Conclusions - The findings suggest that policy makers should develop business assistance programs that correspond with owners' business orientation.

  • The effect of nutritional information on healthier menu choices have been reflected in previous research and nutrition policy efforts. This study further examines the relationship between healthy menu choices and three consumer characteristics - Future Orientation, Regulatory Focus, and Need for Cognition. A $3{\times}3$ experimental design was used with varying food types (burger sandwiches, sub sandwiches, and salad dressing) and the degree of nutritional information (no information, total calories only, and full nutrition information). It was found that having more nutritional information, and individuals with Future Orientation and Promotion Focus were associated with the choice of healthier menus. More specifically, those with high Consideration of Future Consequences and with Promotion Orientation switched their choices to the healthier ones with the provision of nutritional information.

  • Radial variation of crystalline state in a stem of Chamaecyparis obtusa E. was examined by x-ray diffraction analyses. Relative crystallinity and degree of crystallite orientation showed significant differences between juvenile and adult wood. That is, Relative crystallinity increased with increasing the age from pith to about 20th annual ring, after which it reached a more or less constant value. On the other hand, degree of crystallite orientation decreased outward from pith to about 10 years and presented almost a constant value thereafter. Crystal width by Scherrer's equation did not show any significant differences between juvenile and adult wood. Therefore, it was considered that crystallinity index and degree of crystallite orientation by x-ray diffraction method could be used for evaluating wood quality.

  • A Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM) is applied to determine three-dimensional fiber orientation states in injection-molded short fiber composites. Since the CLSM optically sections the composites, more than two planes either on or below the surface of composites can be obtained. Therefore, three dimensional fiber orientation states are determined without destruction. To predict the orientation states, velocity and temperature fields are calculated by using a hybrid FEM/FDM method. The change of orientation state during packing stage is also considered by employing a compressible Hele-Shaw model. The predicted orientation states show good agreement with measured ones. However, some differences are found at the end of cavity. They may result from other effects, which are not considered in the numerical analysis.

  • A nonlinear numerical analysis of orientation and velocity fields of the full Ericksen-Leslie theory for a nematic liquid crystal under shear flow is given. We obtained for the first time the three-dimensional orientation and two component velocity profiles evolutions for both in- and out-of-shear plane orientation anchorings. Complex evolution routes to steady state were found even for shear aligning nematic. As the Ericksen number increases monotonic evolution of velocity and orientation shifts towards multi-region nucleating director rotation growth with complex secondary flow generations. We found that contrary to the in-shear-plane anchorings like homeotropic or parallel anchorings, binormal anchoring gives rise to substantial non-planar three-dimensional orientation with nonzero secondary flow.

  • The purpose of this work is to investigate the specific gravity, thermal, and mechanical property changes of polypropylene (PP)/mica composites before and after solid-state extrusion. On increasing the filler content, the specific gravity of the composites increased. The specific gravity of the oriented specimen containing filler in PP matrix is found to be much smaller than that of pre-specimen due to the formation of more microvoids. The presence of microvoids in the case of oriented composite specimen significantly affected the tensile and flexural properties of the composites. Both flexural strength and modulus of the composites showed maxima when the mica contents was 10 wt%, regardless of the orientation via solid state extrusion.

  • This paper investigates optimum air-gap flux distribution with third harmonic rotor flux orientation adjustment for five-phase induction motor. The technique of objective is to generate a nearly rectangular air-gap flux, and it improves iron utilization under variation loading conditions. The proportional relations between third harmonic and fundamental plane currents is usually adopted in the conventional method. However, misalignment between fundamental and third harmonic component occurs with variation loading. The iron of stator teeth is saturated due to this misalignment. This problem is solved by third harmonic rotor flux orientation adjustment simultaneously, and direction and amplitude are changed with mechanical load variation. The proposed method ensures that the air-gap flux density is near rectangular for a maximum value from no load to rated load. It is confirmed that the proposed method guarantees complete both planes decoupling with third harmonic flux orientation adjustment. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is validated experimentally.

  • With the rapid growth of Chinese economy, environmental issues also became a serious problem that public and private sector have to take under consideration. For the sustainable growth of Chinese economy scholars and policy makers agree to the stronger regulation for protection of natural environment, but at the same time worry about its negative effect on economic growth. This paper primarily focus on the relationship between the factors that have the effect on green product purchasing intention and purchasing behavior. Purchasing intention was considered as mediating variable in our model and state-action orientation - as moderating variable. We set 8 hypotheses and tested with structural equation modeling. The result shows that governmental regulation and subsidy, social environment related with green product purchase, and consumer perception on the benefit of green product have positive relationship with purchasing intention, but environmental concern does not show relationship with it. We also proved that state-action orientation has moderating effect between purchasing intention and purchasing behavior. Purchasing intention with action orientation show positive and statistically significant effect on purchasing behavior. This result supports the hypothesis that the attitude of customers has the effect on ones purchasing behavior.
