The dependence between wind speeds in multiple wind sites has a considerable impact on the reliability of power systems containing wind energy. This paper presents a new method to generate dependent wind speed time series (WSTS) based on copulas theory. The basic feature of the method lies in separating multivariate WSTS into dependence structure and univariate time series. The dependence structure is modeled through the use of copulas, which, unlike the cross-correlation matrix, give a complete description of the joint distribution. An autoregressive moving average (ARMA) model is applied to represent univariate time series of wind speed. The proposed model is illustrated using wind data from two sites in Canada. The IEEE Reliability Test System (IEEE-RTS) is used to examine the proposed model and the impact of wind speed dependence between different wind regimes on the generation system reliability. The results confirm that the wind speed dependence has a negative effect on the generation system reliability.
A holographic demultiplexer aimed at producing low polarization dependence loss using a long period volumetric diffraction grating inside photopolymer has been reported and experimentally demonstrated. To obtain the long period gratings, two kinds of gratings are recorded by angle of $4^{\circ}\;and\;6^{\circ}$ corresponding to the polarization dependence property of below 0.5 dB. From the experimental results, we demonstrate the 0.8 nm-spaced 21 channel holographic demultiplexer with the polarization dependence loss of less than -0.38 dB, the channel uniformity of 0.495 dB, and the channel crosstalk of -13 dB.
Hydrometeorological variables contain highly complex system for temporal revolution and it is quite challenging to illustrate the system with a temporal linear and nonlinear models. In recent years, deep learning algorithms have been developed and a number of studies has focused to model the complex hydrometeorological system with deep learning models. In the current study, we investigated the temporal structure inside deep learning models for the hydrometeorological variables such as streamflow and climate indices. The results present a quite striking such that each hidden unit of the deep learning model presents different dependence structure and when the number of hidden units meet a proper boundary, it reaches the best model performance. This indicates that the deep dependence structure of deep learning models can be used to model selection or investigating whether the constructed model setup present efficient or not.
Objectives It is well known that problem drinking is associated with alterations of brain structures and functions. Brain functions related to alcohol consumption can be determined by the resting state functional connectivity in various resting state networks (RSNs). This study aims to ascertain the alcohol effect on the structures forming predetermined RSNs by assessing their cortical thickness. Methods Twenty-six abstinent male patients with alcohol dependence and the same number of age-matched healthy control were recruited from an inpatient mental hospital and community. All participants underwent a 3T MRI scan. Averaged cortical thickness of areas constituting 7 RSNs were determined by using FreeSurfer with Yeo atlas derived from cortical parcellation estimated by intrinsic functional connectivity. Results There were significant group differences of mean cortical thicknesses (Cohen's d, corrected p) in ventral attention (1.01, < 0.01), dorsal attention (0.93, 0.01), somatomotor (0.90, 0.01), and visual (0.88, 0.02) networks. We could not find significant group differences in the default mode network. There were also significant group differences of gray matter volumes corrected by head size across the all networks. However, there were no group differences of surface area in each network. Conclusions There are differences in degree and pattern of structural recovery after abstinence across areas forming RSNs. Considering the previous observation that group differences of functional connectivity were significant only in networks related to task-positive networks such as dorsal attention and cognitive control networks, we can explain recovery pattern of cognition and emotion related to the default mode network and the mechanisms for craving and relapse associated with task-positive networks.
We investigated the temperature and magnetic field dependent optical properties of a$ MgB_2$ thin film in the far-infrared region. In the superconducting state, i.e. 5 K, we obtained the values of superconducting gap $2\Delta$ ~ 5.2 meV and $2\Delta$$_{k}$$B/T_{c}$ ~1.8. Although the value of$ 2\Delta$$B/T_{c}$ was nearly half of the BCS value, the $2\Delta$ seemed to follow the temperature dependence of the BCS formula. Under the magnetic field (H), the superconducting state became suppressed. Interestingly, we found that the normal state area fraction abruptly increased at low field but slowly increased at high field. It did not follow the H-dependences predicted for a s-wave superconductor (i.e. a linear dependence) nor for a s-wave one (i.e. $H^{1}$2/ dependence). We discussed the complex gap nature of $MgB_2$ in comparison with two gap and anisotropic s-wave scenarios.ios.
High temperature tensile tests, steady state creep tests, Internal stress tests and creep rupture tests using A17075 alloy( $T_{6}$ ) were performed over the temperature range of 9$0^{\circ}C$~50$0^{\circ}C$ (0.4 $T_{m}$ ~0.85 $T_{m}$ ) and stress range of 0.64~17.2(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$). The main results obtained in this paper were as follows. (1) The activation energies for yielding at the temperature of 0.4 $T_{m}$ ~0.75 $T_{m}$ were calculated to be 25.7~36.5kcal/mol, which were nearly equal to the activation energies for creep. (2) At around the temperature of 9$0^{\circ}C$~12$0^{\circ}C$ and under the stress level of 10~17.2(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$), and at around the temperature of 200~41$0^{\circ}C$ and under the stress level of 1.53~9.55(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$) and again at around the temperature of 470~50$0^{\circ}C$ and under the stress level of 0.62~l.02(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$), the applied stress dependence of steady state creep rate $n_{measu}$ measured were, respectively, 3.15, 6.62 and 1.1, which were in good agreement the calculated stress dependence $n_{ealeu}$ obtained by the difference of the applied stress dependence of the Internal stress and the ratio of the internal stress to the applied stress. (3) At the temperature range of 0.4~0.43 $T_{m}$ , and at the temperature range of 0.52~0.75 $T_{m}$ and again at the temperature range of 0.82~0.85 $T_{m}$ , the activation energies $Q_{measu}$ obtained by steady state creep rate, respective, 26. 16, 34.9, 36.2 and 36.1kcal/mol, which were in good agreement with those obtained with the activation energies under constant effective stress and the temperature dependence of Internal stress. (4) At the temperature range of the 0.52~0.73 $T_{m}$ and under the stress level of 1.53~9.55(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$), the stress dependence of rupture life(n’) measured was 6.3~6.6, which was in good agreement with the stress dependence of steady state creep rate(n). And at the same condition the activation energy for rupture( $Q_{f}$ ) measured was 32.0~36.9kca1/mol, which was also in good agreement with the activation energy obtained by steady state creep rate ( $Q_{c}$ ). (5) The rupture life( $t_{f}$ ) might be represented by athermal process attributed to the difference of the applied stress dependence of the internal stress and the ratio of the internal stress to the applied stress, and the thermal activated process attributied to the temperature dependence of the internal stress as $t_{f}$ = A'$\sigma$$_{a}$ {n(1-d $\sigma$$_{i}$ /d $\sigma$$_{a}$ )/(1-$\sigma$$_{i}$ / $\sigma$$_{a}$ )}.exp[{ $Q_{c}$$^{*}$-( $n_{o}$ R $T^2$/ $E_{(T)}$) (d $E_{(T)}$/dT) - ( $n_{0}$ R $T^2$/ $\sigma$$_{a}$ - $\sigma$$_{i}$ ) (d $\sigma$$_{i}$ /dT)}/RT]. (6) The relationship betwween Larson-Miller rupture parameter and logarithmic stress was linearly decreased, so creep rupture life of Al 7075 alloy seemed to be predicted exactly with Larson-Miller parameter.meter.
The notion of the finite pairing interaction energy range Td is shown to result in a linear temperature dependence of the London magnetic penetration depth length, ${\Delta}{\lambda}{/\lambda}(0)=(T/Td)2/\pi)ln2$ at low T in the case of the s-wave pairing state, accounting for data of high Tc superconductor by Hardy et al.

We investigated the temperature dependence of magnetization of Fe/Al multilayers fabricated by dc magnetron sputtering system. As the temperature increased from 5 K in a low magnetic field (100G) the magnetization of the samples increased and made a broad peak at some critical temperature. Further increase of temperature decresed the magnetization as an ardinary ferromagnetic curve. Part of samples show rapid increase of magnetization at low temperature. A model developed in this study suggests that the biquadratic coupling yields such a rapidly increasing behavior of magnetization at low temperature.
I reached following conclusion through a bibliographic study about the drug dependence. 1. The drug dependence is the case that taking drugs continually in order to get around discomfort and get mental drug efficacy. that is also the state of poisoning that shows compulsions that using all means to get drugs. the drug dependence is coincident with alcolism in Oriental Medicine. 2 Medicinal matters that causes the drug dependence consist of two field. one is licit drugs, including a tranquilizer, a sleeping pill, anti-anxiety drug, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, etc. the other is illict drugs, including opium products, psychostimulant, a hallucinogen, aromatic agent(adhesives, LSD, etc.) 3. Drugs that causes dependences has the habit which causing mental dependences and the medicinal poisining which causing physical dependences. 4. A syndrome of abstain from the drug which rides on all kinds of drugs is analogous to depressive psychosis, epilepsy, insanity, depressive syndromes, disorder of internal organs, histery, dizziness, etc. 5. The drug dependence causes visceral dysfunction, that is chiefly inflammatory lesion of brain, heart lung etc. (inflammatory lesions os mainly due to infect.) and injuries liver which removes toxic agents and kidney which is an excretory organ. 6. The treatment of the drug dependence, which needs at first check the medical record and the syndrome, is consist of the expectant treatment and isolating treatment as a rule and sometimes mental therapeutics is going on at the same time. 7. The oriental medical cure of the drug dependence needs more concrete study.
Objectives:Recent studies have raised the possibility that nerve growth factor(NGF) is abnormally regulated in the central nervous system(CNS) of animal models with alcohol dependence. The possible alteration of NGF by prolonged alcohol intake may play an important role in alcohol-induced neurotoxicity. Carbohydrate-deficient transferrin(CDT) is regarded as a reliable biological marker of alcohol dependence. The goal of this study was to estimate the changes of %CDT and serum NGF level according to the duration of alcohol abstinence, and to identify whether %CDT level is associated with the serum NGF level in the patients with alcohol dependence. Methods:The subjects were 24 patients with alcohol dependence. We used the Axis-Shield ASA to measure the %CDT level and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) to measure the serum NGF level. %CDT and NGF levels were measured immediately after the admission and at 2 weeks after the admission. Results:Decreased %CDT were observed during the period of 2 weeks after the admission. NGF level was not significantly different after 2 weeks. The NGF levels were not correlated with %CDT. The possibility of %CDT as a predictor of alcohol-induced neurotoxicity was not confirmed. Conclusion:Serum NGF levels is not a reliable indicator of abstinence state in the patients with alcohol dependence. Further studies are needed to evaluate the relation between two indicators in regard to hematological and neurological changes in alcohol dependence.
