  • 본 연구에서는 초소형 엔진의 윈드밀 시동시의 성능을 예측하기 위해 엔진의 주요 구성 부품의 성능의 손실해석을 통한 수치 방법을 개발하였다. 사류형 압축기를 가진 초소형 터보제트 엔진에 이 수치기법을 적용하여 탈설계점 및 설계점 영역에서 시동 특성을 해석하였다. 또한 각 설계 변수들의 윈드밀 시동 성능에 영향을 주는 민감도를 분석하였다.

  • The single phase line start permanent magnet motor has high efficiency and power factor when it operates synchronous speed. The rotor structure is composed of permanent magnet and cage bars. The motor is accelerated by rotor bars and synchronized by magnet and rotor saliency. but starting torque is disturbed by magnet braking torque so, to obtain good starting performance and synchronizing capability. the design of proper permanent magnet is required.   • A cross-flow fan relatively makes high dynamic pressure at low speed because a working fluid passes through an impeller blade twice and blades have a forward curved shape. Therefore, the performance of a cross-flow fan is influenced 25% by the impeller, 60% by the rearguider and the stabilizer, 15% by the heat exchanger. At the low flow rate, there exists a rapid pressure head reduction, a noise increase and an unsteady flow against a stabilizer and a rearguider. Moreover, it is difficult to analyze the reciprocal relations of the cross-flow fan because each parameter is independent. Numerical analyses are conducted with different starting angles of the rearguider. Two-dimensional, unsteady governing equations are solved, using FVM, PISO algorithm, sliding grid system and ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ standard turbulence model.

  • The wound induction motor can provide high starting torque and reduced starting current simultaneously by inserting large scale resistor. And this technique is one of the well known methods among the induction motor starting methods and generally used for heavy load starting such as Crain and Cement factories. The conventional PI controller has been widely used in industrial application due to the simple control algorithm and in general, PI controller is used for control of current, torque, position, and speed for the wound induction motor drive system. However, the system may result in poor performance since sensors have to be used, which in turn is limited by the environmental condition. Recently, to overcome these problems, many sensorless vector control methods for the wound induction motor have been studied. This paper presents MRAS method with on-line stator resistance tuning for sensorless vector control of the wound induction motor drive. In conventional MRAS method, in low frequency, stator resistance variation can result in poor performance. Therefore, to overcome several shortages of the conventional MRAS caused by parameter variation and enhance robustness of the sensor less vector control, this paper investigates a MRAS method with on-line stator resistance tuning for sensorless vector control of the wound induction motor. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through digital simulation.

신뢰 척도 기반 지역 이진 패턴을 이용한 객체 인식 (Object Recognition Using Local Binary Pattern Based on Confidence Measure)

  • 객체 인식은 이미지와 비디오에서 다양한 객체를 검출하고 식별하는 기술이다. LBP는 조명 변이에 강인하게 동작하는 기술자로써, 객체 인식 분야에 활발하게 사용되고 있다. LBP는 이웃 픽셀의 범위, 비교 연산 후 이웃들의 결합 순서, 그리고 결합의 시작 위치를 고려해야 한다. 특히, LBP의 시작 위치는 "최상위 비트"가 되기 때문에 객체 인식의 성능에 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 N개의 시작 위치를 기반으로 N개의 특징 공간에서 각각 입력 데이터와 가장 유사한 데이터를 탐색한다. 각 특징 공간의 서로 다른 결과를 동일한 기준에서 비교할 수 있는 신뢰 척도를 정의하고, 가장 신뢰도 높은 결과를 선택함으로써 객체 인식을 수행한다. 실험 결과에서는 LBP의 시작 위치에 따라 성능의 차이가 있다는 것을 확인했다. 또한, 제안한 방법은 기존 LBP 인식 성능과 대비하여 최대 12.66%의 높은 성능을 나타냈다.

Analysis of Starting Torque and Speed Characteristics for Squirrel Cage Induction Motor According to Material Properties of Rotor Slot

  • Squirrel cage induction motors have mostly been used for their small capacity because the starting torque is smaller than the starting current during start-up. However, as more and more mid-to-large capacity motors are developed, the demands for improvements in performance characteristics have also increased. In this study, the starting characteristics of squirrel cage induction motors were analyzed based on the rotor materials and shapes using a finite element method to provide design data suitable for different use purposes and capacities. We further completed analysis by combining electromagnetic equations deduced from Maxwell’s equations and the circuit equations of stators and rotors. A moving coordinator was introduced to rotate the rotor during the analysis, and the torques calculated via the finite element method were combined with the motion equations to calculate the position and angular velocity of the rotors at the next time, thereby analyzing the transient characteristics. The analysis results of the transient characteristics were applied to a 3-phase 4-pole 5-hp induction motor to calculate the starting torque, speed, and rotation angle of the rotors. In the reference model, the materials and shapes of the rotor slot were changed to copper and silicon copper and a deep slot, shallow slot, and long-neck-shaped slot.

  • This report deals with a feeding system of the Coaxal grinding machine, processing optical ferrule. This report also examines the applicability of using the feeding system for the Coaxial grinding machine, by mean of conducting performance estimation. The results are as follow; Repeatability of regulating wheel is $17{\mu}m$, R/W rotation accuracy is between $30\;\~\;40{\mu}m$. This means 'Rotation accuracy' is lower than the concentricity level. Backlash generation level at the feeding system of the grinding wheel is under $1{\mu}m$, thereby positioning accuracy is controlled within $2{\mu}m$ In terms of repeatability, you can find occasional error at the returning process from the starting point. This error is resulted from the measurement tolerance of the starting point sensor. We will get the repeatability level under control by $1{\mu}m$, through improving the soft-ware used and up-grading the sensor at the starting point.

On Parameter Estimation of Growth Curves for Technological Forecasting by Using Non-linear Least Squares

  • Growth curves including Bass, Logistic and Gompertz functions are widely used in forecasting the market demand. Nonlinear least square method is often adopted for estimating the model parameters but it is difficult to set up the starting value for each parameter. If a wrong starting point is selected, the result may lead to erroneous forecasts. This paper proposes a method of selecting starting values for model parameters in estimating some growth curves by nonlinear least square method through grid search and transformation into linear regression model. Resealing the market data using the national economic index makes it possible to figure out the range of parameters and to utilize the grid search method. Application to some real data is also included, where the performance of our method is demonstrated.

  • The present paper deals with the numerical study to analyze the self-starting performance of impulse turbine in a reciprocating air flow generated by sinusoidal motion of wave inside oscillating water column. Result was compared to that of Wells turbine, well-known wave energy conversion device, and showed that the impulse turbine has a superior self-starting ability. More detailed parametric study was performed to demonstrate the effects of moment of inertia of rotor, loading torque, tip clearance and angle of guide vane.

  • A design method of three phase induction motors that have characteristics of low starting current and high starting torque is proposed. This design method is based on the traditional theory related to the skin effect and the gap saturation effect. The starting performances and the analysis method are explained in short. Finally, comparison of example design data on electric hoist motor with standard motor is shown.
