  • Purpose - This study aimed to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial temperament (ET) such as innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness in entrepreneur's lifetime before start-up and the effect of social capital (SC) such as network ties and trustworthiness on entrepreneurial intention. Research design, data, and methodology - We examined the components of ET (innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness) and components of SC (network ties and trustworthiness) through existing prior research and investigated the factors that affected entrepreneurial intention. The first hypothesis of this study was that entrepreneurial temperament will have a significant impact on network ties of social capital, and the second hypothesis assumed that entrepreneurial temperament will have a significant effect on the trustworthiness of social capital. Finally, the second hypothesis assumed that social capital will have a significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions. We collected 175 data using questionnaires for people who have not yet started a start-up. And we used the Structure Equation Modeling (SEM) to evaluate the collected data and to test the research model by the two step research procedure. Results - As a result, the innovativeness and proactiveness of ET have a significant effect on network ties and trustworthiness of SC, but the effect of risk-taking on risk-taking of SC is not significant. On the other hand, network ties and network ties of SC was revealed a significant effect on the EI. Conclusions - The implications of this article could be observed as mentioned in this paper. First, we found that entrepreneurial innovativeness and proactiveness are helpful in constructing SCs, but not risk-taking. These results demonstrated that ET of entrepreneurs is important factor in the formation of social capital. Second, the SC that an entrepreneur built before the start-up has a meaning for EI. In conclusion, ET was affected partially to EI mediated SC. It is academic in that ET and SC are independent from each other and have a mediating role between ET and EI, unlike those directly affecting EI. Although some important implications were found in this study, this study had some limitations and we hope that future research will be complemented.

  • In recent years, college students have emerged as the main players in Chinese innovation and start-ups. Based on the TPB theory, this paper introduced the start-up education variables and established the influence model of start-up education for university students in China on the motivation of start-up. In this paper, a questionnaire containing five variables, including behavior attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention, was investigated for students from six universities in Jilin Province, China, and statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS23.0. The study found that the entrepreneurship education of college students had the greatest impact on entrepreneurial intentions compared to the three elements of planned behavioral theory: behavioral attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. This paper has a guiding significance in strengthening start-up education in universities. This study was conducted only for students from six universities in Jilin Province, China, and the scope of the study needs to be expanded throughout China in order to generalize the research results.

Third, resilience came out to have a partial-mediating effects between technical stress and the senior's entrepreneurial intentions as well as between self-efficacy and the senior's entrepreneurial intentions. These research outcomes supported the preceding studies that self-efficacy played key roles in maximizing senior's entrepreneurial intentions and demonstrated the importance of self-efficacy as an independent variable for seniors to promote entrepreneurial activities with an intention of starting a new business. Furthermore, the technical stress newly introduced as an independent variable was found to be the next most important factor after the self-efficacy. The study also confirmed that the resilience has been doing an partial-mediating effects. However, it appeared that the technical stress affected the will of start-up, but it appeared to be a positive relationship. For generalization of this finding, further studies are required.

  • This study aims to clarify factors having effect on the turnover and entrepreneurial intention of financial institution workers. Particularly, this study analyzed the effect of job satisfaction, job insecurity, retirement expectation and retirement preparation activities. As research subjects, this study selected financial institution workers residing in Seoul and the capital area and used a total of 508 samples as analysis data. This study analyzed job satisfaction, job insecurity, retirement expectation and retirement preparation activities as factors having effect on the turnover and entrepreneurial intention of financial institution workers. The research results can be summarized as follows; Firstly, all the factors of job satisfaction had negative (-) effect on their turnover intention, and compensation satisfaction and interpersonal relation satisfaction also had negative (-) effect on their entrepreneurial intention. Secondly, since job insecurity had positive (+) effect on their turnover intention and entrepreneurial intentions, the more insecure their jobs became, the more their turnover and entrepreneurial intention increased. Thirdly, in the retirement expectation, forced frustration and continuation had positive (+) effect on their turnover intention, and forced frustration, new start and continuation also had positive (+) effect on their entrepreneurial intention. Fourthly, in the retirement preparation activity, entrepreneurial preparation, social preparation and physical preparation of retirement preparation activity had positive (+) effect on their turnover intention, but economical preparation had negative (-) effect on their turnover intention, while entrepreneurial preparation had positive (+) effect on their entrepreneurial intention. In other words, as they prepare business start-up more for retirement, their turnover and entrepreneurial intentions increase more. Although they receive higher wages than other workers in different job fields as financial institution workers, they showed significant results about turnover and entrepreneurial intentions, which indicates that job satisfaction, job insecurity, retirement expectation and preparation activities function as important variables in the relation with their turnover and entrepreneurial intentions. Such research results imply that it is necessary to develop various educational programs and turnover and business start-up support programs so that financial institution workers may have better understanding of both success and failure cases when they actually work on business start-ups.

  • Due to imbalances in supply and demand within the labor market, start-ups have emerged as crucial players in the generation of high-quality employment opportunities, particularly in stagnant job markets. In response to this trend, governments are allocating substantial financial and human resources to initiatives that support start-up development. This has led to an increasing rate of engagement in start-up ventures across diverse age groups, not limited to younger individuals. Start-ups are enterprises focused on the commercialization of innovative ideas with the aim of achieving profitability in the marketplace. Research concerning the successful market integration of new products and the attainment of sustainable growth is pivotal. Such research is instrumental not only for the success of start-ups but also for realizing the broader social functions and contributions that these enterprises can offer. Previous research has often examined new product market-entry strategies, often referred to as new product marketing, particularly for large companies and SMEs. However, there is a gap in studies focusing on prototype marketing strategies specific to start-ups. Thus, this study aims to examine the impact of Pre-announcing marketing strategies on the market attention garnered by start-ups with low recognition and limited infrastructure, and how such attention contributes to their sustainable growth. Specifically, the study aims to uncover the causal relationship between information attributes like relevance, vividness, and novelty in building customer relationships, and their impact on purchase intentions influenced by performance expectations and hedonic motivations. In terms of Pre-announcing information attributes, relevance, vividness, and novelty positively influence performance expectations and hedonic motivations as outlined in the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). These factors, in turn, positively impact the purchase intention for pre-announced new products from start-ups. These findings are expected to provide both theory and practical insights into the factors influencing market entry through the use of Pre-announcing marketing strategies for start-up new products.

  • This study is to identify the structural relationships among undergraduates' individual characteristics(need for achievement, risk-taking propensity), startup education, startup-relevant knowledge and the entrepreneurial intentions. The mediating variables examined were startup education and startup-relevant knowledge. In results, the higher need for achievement the undergraduates get, as the individual characteristics of college students, the more active the entrepreneurial education is to receive. Students with a risk-taking propensity have a positive influence on their knowledge of entrepreneurship and expect to acquire any knowledge of entrepreneurship even if they are not actively receiving entrepreneurial education. However, risk-taking propensity showed that entrepreneurship education and need for achievement had no effect on entrepreneurial knowledge. On the other hand, entrepreneurship education itself shows that it can be a driving force to promote entrepreneurship. In addition, since entrepreneurship education positively affects the entrepreneurial will with the knowledge of entrepreneurship as a parameter, it is necessary for the students to increase entrepreneurial will by getting entrepreneurship education and improving the knowledge about entrepreneurship. In order to do this, the school should formalize regular business start-up education and acquire business startup-relevant knowledge. Therefore, although the individual characteristics of college students influence the will to start a business, it is necessary to find out the will and opportunity of the startup by implementing and acquiring the startup education and startup-relevant knowledge. In this study, some of the universities in the specific area have been studying on the startup education. However, the future study should be conducted on the schools that have startup education nationwide.
