  • The standard of performance-based seismic design accepted by Ministry of Construction and Transport requires to install and manage earthquake instruments for the facilities of seismic category I and to acquire earthquake response data of these facilities at earthquake events. So detailed standard and guideline for installation and management of earthquake instruments for each facilities according to the seismic design standard are getting ready. This paper presents the part of installation locations of sensors in that detaile standard and guideline.

  • Electrical facilities of entertainment spaces become more complicate and bigger due to growing industry and economy. Therefore using only Technical standards for Electrical facilities of internal standard, we have some difficulty for management and installation of electrical facilities of entertainment spaces. So this paper gives a information which is applied to install the electrical facilities of entertainment space by analysing and comparing of internal and external standard.

  • Recently, landscape lighting is more and more installing in many places such as park, cultural heritages, large-scale structures, bridges, apartment, and so on. However, there is no the government-set official estimation for standard wages constructing luminaries for landscape lighting. The cost of construction is estimated based on the standard wages of related-similar installations such as internal lighting fixtures or the designer's subjective decision. Sometimes, it is overestimated or underestimated. In this paper, the fundamental process for estimating the standard wages constructing luminaries for landscape lighting is studied. The estimation method of standard wages constructing lighting fixtures was examined on the basis of the type and capacities of luminaries, installation places, type and shapes of installation auxiliary materials, worker's skill, and etc. As a result, some results obtained in this work were significantly, different with the standard wages for internal electric wiring published by Korea Electric Association. In the future, to improve the accuracy of the estimation of the standard wages for constructing luminaries for landscope lighting, detailed factors related to the installation condition and dimensions and types of luminaries should be considered.

  • IEC is an international standards which are used in many countries with Europe as the center. IEC standard is introduced in Korea according to WTO/TBT agreements, however until now there are no buildings in Korea which are designed applying IEC standard. Therefore, KEA(Korea Electric Association) is scheduled to construct Korean low voltage electrical installation integration test site which is designed applying IEC standard. In this paper, before being under construction of Korean low voltage electrical installation integration test site, power substation is modeled based on real design parameters and method to select circuit breakers and cables is presented applying IEC standard in the modeled power substation. EMTP(ElctroMagnetic Transient Program) is used for simulation program. EMTP which is power system analysis program is easy to model power system and power substation.

  • This paper gives information which is applied to install the electrical equipment of amusement park and ride. For analyzing the standard of electrical equipment installation, we research the related regulation of National Electrical Code(2002), IEC 60364-series and Technical standards for Electrical facilities of internal standard. Among electrical equipments of amusement park and ride, especially we study the transformer vaults, overcurrent protection and ground protection of electrical equipment. So we the furnished the installation information of transformer vaults, overcurrent and ground protection at amusement park and ride.

  • The interest about the installation and certification for miscellaneous non-required electrical equipment is being increased in the domestic aviation industries. In this paper, the minimum applicable requirements in Airworthiness Standard and the acceptable means of compliance which can be applied to installation and certification for miscellaneous non-required electrical equipment is being researched. As a case study, galley certification procedures are presented by electrical load analysis, installation of warning devices and installation requirements.

  • A conductor has been produced according to IEC standard and low voltage electrical facility has been installed according to IEC 60364. But because of many related and varied standards, it is difficult to apply to design and inspect for electrical equipment. We researched the necessity of design guide which is detailed and systematization from survey. For detailed design guide, we suggest application method and review items at calculations for voltage drop calculations on low voltage feeder by IEC 60364, BS 7671 standard and Consumer's Electrical Installation Guide.

A Study on Improvement of Ramp Installation Standard for BF Certification (BF 인증을 위한 경사로 설치기준 개선에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The ramp is an important facility for the barrier free access and vertical circulation of users of various buildings, including users of walker, wheelchair users, stroller users, and baggage carriers. The installation standards for ramps in Korea have various problems during construction and BF certification. It is necessary to improve the criteria for ensuring practical mobility and safety. Method: Korean standard, International Standard(ISO 21542, 2011), German Standard(DIN 18040-1, 2010), Austrian Standard(OENORM B 1600, 2017), Swiss Standard(Norm SIA 500, 2009), Canadian Standard(Building Standards Guide, 2017), American Standard(ADA Standards, 2010) were investigated and analyzed. A comprehensive improvement of the ramp installation standards is proposed. Results: The ramp is a necessary facility for the barrier free access and vertical circulation of the disabled. It shall be installed with comprehensive consideration of the appropriate slope of the ramp, the distance of the continuous slope, the handle and upstand for pedestrian safety. In order to improve convenience, setting the proper slope and limiting the length of the slope are very important, and improvements are required to the levels presented by international and foreign standards. The unclear standards of Korean law and BF certification standards should be clearly improved so as not to be misinterpreted in construction and Barrier Free Certification. Implication: International and foreign standards should be reviewed to ensure practical mobility and safety. And comprehensive improvement measures should be presented through continuous research.

  • There are big differences between developed countries and Korea regarding to the circumstances of electrical installation construction. In other words, Korea, in spite of its small market size, has large pools of electrical construction companies or associated workers, and there are a lot of poorly electrical construction companies in domestically. Thus, in reality, it is difficult to invest in technical development to enhance Korea's technical level on electrical installation and companies are likely to construct as occasion demands instead of constructing in a technical manner. Therefore, the government needs to develop a standard specification as a guideline for stable, economical and technical electrical installation construction. With this standard specification, almost all electrical construction companies could practically use it and also could guarantee their construction quality as well. It is important to induce small companies to utilize the standard specification to secure their construction excellent quality so that the life of the nation, individual's properties and national properties could be well protected.
