The principal objective of this study was to estimate the measurement uncertainty associated with determination of deoxynivalenol (DON), a mycotoxin generated by Fusarium strain, in food. In service of this goal, wheat as a food matrix was analyzed via high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet (HPLC-UV) detection using an immunoaffinity column for clean-up. The uncertainty sources in the measurement process were identified by sample weight, final volume, and sample concentration in extraction volume with components including standard stock solution, working standard solution, 5 standard solutions, calibration curve, matrix, and instrument. The expanded uncertainty for DON at a concentration of 300 ${\mu}g/kg$ was estimated as 71.62 ${\mu}g/kg$ using a coverage factor of two, which provides a confidence level of approximately 95%. The most influential component in the uncertainty sources was the recovery of the wheat matrix, followed by the calibration curve. These results indicate that all efforts may be directed toward reducing the uncertainties of the recovery of the wheat matrix and the calibration curve to obtain a reliable HPLC-UV method for DON analysis in wheat.

Corrugated fiberboard is a widely used packaging material because of its high compressive strength and stiffness despite light weight. Corrugated fiberboards with microflutes with height $\leq$ 1.5 mm, such as E, F or G, have been developed. As microflutes have a different geometry from other conventional flutes, they may behave differently in testing and require a new testing method. Therefore, we evaluated the flat crush resistance of corrugated fiberboard with microflutes according to the ISO and TAPPI standard test methods. In addition, the effects of specimen area and platen compression rate were examined. The goal of this study was to identify an appropriate method for flat crush test (FCT) of corrugated fiberboard with microflutes. When a test piece with a standard area was subjected to the FCT in accordance with ISO and TAPPI methods, microflute corrugated fiberboard demonstrated a different load-displacement curve. An area of 20 $cm^2$ was determined to be the most appropriate for FCTof microflute corrugated fiberboard.
Purpose: Mid-upper-arm circumference (MUAC) is considered an alternative screening method for obesity. The aims of this investigation were to examine the ability of MUAC to correctly identify children with elevated body mass index (BMI) and to determine the best MUAC cutoff point for identification of children with high BMI. Methods: Anthropometric measurements (height, weight, and MUAC) from a cross-sectional sample of 7,921 Pakistani children aged 5-14 years were analyzed. Pearson correlation coefficients between MUAC and other anthropometric measurements were calculated. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to determine the optimal MUAC cutoff point for identifying children with high BMI. Results: Among 7,921 children, the mean (${\pm}$standard deviation) age, BMI, and MUAC were 10.00 (${\pm}2.86years$), 16.16 (${\pm}2.66kg/m^2$), and 17.73 (${\pm}2.59cm$), respectively. The MUAC had a strong positive correlation with BMI. The optimal MUAC cutoff points indicating elevated BMI in boys ranged from 16.76 to 22.73, while the corresponding values in girls ranged from 16.38 to 20.57. Conclusion: MUAC may be used as a simple indicator of overweight/obesity in children, with reasonable accuracy in clinical settings.

Daily milk yield estimates were obtained on 74 lactations of 35 Japanese Black cows on weeks 1 to 9, 11, 13, 17, 21 and 26 postpartum using the weigh-suckle-weigh method. The data obtained were analyzed by least-squares procedures according to the models including the following effects; dam, lactation number, season of calving, week of experiment and partial regressions on the lactation number. The overall mean and standard error for daily milk yield was $4.55{\pm}0.04\;kg$. The milk yield declined essentially linearly throughout the experimental period. The main effects of lactation number, season of calving and week of experiment were highly significant. Differences in daily milk yield among cows were significant, and the repeatability was estimated as $0.60{\pm}0.06$. The overall means(kg) and repeat-abilities of cumulative milk yield for 1, 4, 9, 13, 17, 21 and 26 weeks postpartum were 41, 0.08; 166, 0.40; 361, 0.61; 503, 0.66; 632, 0.67; 749, 0.65 and 884, 0.58; respectively. The means of calf weight at birth and 26 weeks weight for different lactations ranged from 25.5 to 33.6 kg and 145.6 to 185.4 kg, respectively. Calf daily gains between experiment weeks were low in earlier stages of lactation.
In order to compare the pharmacokinetic profiles of enrofloxacin-HCL)ENFLX-HCL) and enrofloxacin-KOH (ENFLX-KOH) after oral administration in broiler chickens, the study was performed. The chickens used in this study weighed $1.82 {\pm}0.2 kg$ and clinically healthy. The dose of intravenous and lral administration was 5 mg per kg of body weight as enrofloxacin. After intravenous injection of enrofloxacin, it showed two-compartment model with the rapid distribution phase and the slow elimination phase. The mean apparent volume of distribution (Vd) was 2.70 l/kg. The mean half-life of elimination and distribution showed 8.26 h and 0.44 h, respectively. The mean area under curve (AUC) was calculated as $19.7 {\mu} g{\cdot} h/ml$. After oral administration of ENFLX-HCL and ENFLX-KOH with a rate of dose 5 mg of enrofloxacin/kg of body weight, Both of the products were showed one-compartment model unlike that of i.v. enrofloxacin standard solution showed the mean bioavailability of 79.64% for the ENFLX-KOG and 86.24% for the ENFLX-HCL. The mean total body clearance of the former was 0.24 l/kg/h and the latter 0.42 l/kg/h. Both enorfloxacin formulations seemed to have good tissue distribution and penetration as indicated by large volume of distribution : 2.72 l/kg for the -KOH and 4.44 l/kg for the -HCL. With the results obtained in this study, ENFLX-HCL could be used in place of its salt form in chickens.
A simple procedure for the extraction of the lipolytic enzyme from rice bran has been developed. High activity of lipolytic enzyme was obtained by first defatting the rice bran to remove lipid components with various extraction conditions. Then, after rove cycles of aqueous extraction, rice bran lipolytic enzyme was purified using micro- and ultrafiltration apparatus. Lipolytic enzyme activity was estimated by its hydrolytic action of tributyrin. The result indicated that the standard activity curve of butyric acid showed that the potential rice bran enzyme is a hydrolytic lipase enzyme. In addition, it showed higher lipolytic activity and specific enzyme activity with further purification by micro- and ultrafiltration. The size of rice bran lipase enzyme was identified through 15 % SDS-PAGE. The molecular weight of the rice bran lipase enzyme was 41 kDa.
Depending on the definition used, between 3% and 10% of live neonates are small for gestational age (SGA). The definition of SGA requires the following: (1) accurate knowledge of gestational age; (2) accurate measurements at birth of weight, length, and head circumference; (3) a cutoff, which has been variably set at the 10th percentile, 3rd percentile, or at less than 2 standard deviation from the mean, and (4) race and ethnicity-specific growth curve. Consensus statements are needed on the management of growth hormone therapy in SGA children, as well as treatment and long-term health outcomes such as impaired cognitive function, increased risk of adult cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes.

Reliability of fatigue strength on Aircraft Composites(GFRP) Structures was assessed in this paper. Fatigue strength of GFRP was used through the existing fatigue test data with Monte Carlo method. The Sa-Nf curve of composites fatigue strength was assumed as normal distribution and reliability was analyzed using SSIT model. Fatigue stress was designed IAW ASTM F3114-15 with special safety factor of Ssf=1.2~2.0. Reliability was calculated by analytic method and FORM. Sensitivity for the effect of mean and standard deviation of fatigue strength as well as fatigue stability was evaluated. This result can be usefully applied to reliability and fatigue design for composite structures of light weight aircraft.
The analytical method for ethyl carbamate (EC) in maesil (Prunus mume) extract was developed with deuterium-labeled ethyl carbamate as an internal standard. Samples were neutralized with an addition of 1 N sodium hydroxide solution, followed by a solid phase extraction with a Chem Elut cartridge. A standard curve exhibited a good linearity with correlation coefficient of 0.9991. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 2.91 ng/g and 8.83 ng/g, respectively. The recovery rate of EC ranged from 91.40% to 120.90%. The precision never exceeded 12.57% (intra-day) and 11.03% (inter-day). Samples were comprised of 24 home-made and 7 commercially-available maesil extracts. Eight home-made samples contained EC at levels between 3.39 and 75.76 ng/g. Three commercially-available samples had EC at levels between 11.67 and 20.16 ng/g. Average daily intakes of EC from maesil extracts for consumers were 0.23 g/kg of body weight. Based on a benchmark dose confidence limit ($BMDL_{10}$) of 0.25 mg/kg of body weight/day, the margin of exposure (MOE) of EC in maesil extract for consumers was 94,150, which is not of concern. Considering that a daily intake of maesil extract has been increasing, further studies on the formation of EC in maesil extract is needed.

Measurement uncertainty could play an important role in the assessment of test results in laboratories and industries. We investigated measurement uncertainties possibly included in determination of flubendazole, a benzimidazole anthelmintic, in pork by HPLC. The concentration of flubendazole was 62.69 ng/g in a sample of pork. Uncertainty was estimated in the analytical procedure of flubendazole. A model equation was made for determination of flubendazole in pork. The four uncertainty components such as weight of sample, volume of sample, calibration curve, and recovery were selected to estimate measurement uncertainties. Standard uncertainty was calculated for each component and all the standard uncertainties were combined. The combined standard uncertainty was expanded to a sample population as an expanded uncertainty. The expanded uncertainty was calculated using k value on Student's t-table and effective degrees of freedom from Welch-Satterthwaite formula. The expanded uncertainty was calculated as 3.45 with the combined standard uncertainty, 1.584 6 and the k value, 2.18. The final expression can be ($62.69{\pm}3.45$) ng/g (confidence level 95%, k = 2.18). The uncertainty value might be estimated differently depending on the selection of the uncertainty components. It is difficult to estimate all the uncertainty factors. Therefore, it is better to take several big effecting components instead of many small effecting components.
