A Study on the Implementation of Mobile Robot Remote Control System Based on JADS Standard (JAUS표준 기반의 모바일 로봇 원격제어 시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, lots of interest and competition in developments related to the autonomous-vehicle robot are being further increased. However, the absence of the standard architectures for effectively controlling the autonomous-vehicle robot led to many difficulties such as the long duration of development and the uncompatibility with other autonomous-vehicle robots. Accordingly, we implemented a mobile autonomous-vehicle robot system based on JAUS standard architecture. The mobile robot communicates with the remote-control system by using wireless LAN UDP/IP JAUS command massages. Its effectiveness is showed through the experimental results related to the navigation of implemented robot.

  • 본 연구에서는 우리 나라 M-Commerce산업에 대한 개요 파악 및 환경변화를 분석한 후, 향후 국내 M-Commerce산업의 경쟁력 강화방안을 제시하였다. 이에 따른 방향은 첫째, 커뮤니티나 오락성보다는 기능성에 초점을 맞추어야 하며, 둘째, "표준(Defacto Standard)은 시장이 만든다"라는 원칙에 충실하여야 한다. 셋째, 기존 PC 중심의 유선 인터넷의 연장선상이 아니라 새로운 비즈니스영역으로 파악되도록 하여야 하며, 넷째, M-Commerce의 핵심요건은 "인터넷 편의점", "킬링타임으로서의 5분 컨텐츠"가 되도록 하여야 하며, 다섯째, 컨텐츠를 유료화할 수 있는 전략이 필요하다는 점이다.

  • The erbium doped fibre ring laser (EDFL) is modelled using the standard propagation and rate equations of a homogeneous, two-level gain medium. The EDFL numerical simulations provide comparable results with the experimental data. The process of lasing mode competition and mode selection is clearly depicted and explained.

  • To develope a domestic machinery industry, international competition through reducing cost by increasing productivity is as important as evolving technology and increasing quality. In this study, we have studied in application of GT technology. GT is a skill that acquires high productivity using part's resemblance for multi part and small size production like mass production. We have classified group, such as design, layout and the others, to be applied systematically. The design group includes retrieval for drawings and study for GT design. The layout group includes GT layout, analysis of production process and study for composition method. And others include scheduling, standardization and standard process.

Change of the Costume Culture and Gangneung Dialect (복식문화의 변화와 강릉방언)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine aspects and causes of the change and disappearance in the Gangneung dialect vocabulary about costume. A typical example of linguistic factors that influence the change of costume vocabulary is competition with the standard language. However, costume as culture has a more powerful effect than linguistic factor. For example, the following factors lead to the disappearance: the disappearance of the referent, the inherent characteristics of the costume, the introduction of the new culture, and the change in values about costume.

  • Increasing competition is due to internationalization in market. This result requires various products in a rapid development of product. Die design is one of bottleneck areas in product development. It takes 40% of total time for whole car development. Therefore a new method should be developed as a fundament on which the design process of die can be carried out effectively. This can be realized by using modular design based on standard template. In this paper a modular design concept will be discussed.

The Emergence of de facto Standard and Firm Exit: Evidence from US Laser Printer Industry (사실상의 표준 등장 이후 기업퇴출에 관한 연구: 미국 레이저 프린터 산업을 중심으로)

  • In the technological cycle model, a technological discontinuity leads to the inception of industry evolution. Before the emergence of de facto standard, it is defined as era of ferment, while era of incremental change is defined after the emergence. In the era of ferment, market and product have high uncertainties, but the competition becomes fiercer in the era of incremental change. Hence, new or revised managerial strategies are required before and after the de facto standard. However, our understanding is limited. In this study, we explore determinants of firm survival after the emergence of de facto standard. We test these using 6650 product/year observations from 1983 to 2002. The results reveal that entry before the emergence of de facto standard, and the number of product in the market will increase exit rate. However, the number of company will reduce exit rate. Our findings illustrate distinctive characteristics of the industry after the emergence of de facto standard. We'll discuss academic and political implications in the last section of this paper.

  • After the IMF bailout, the Environment of Domestic Construction Industry had changed dramatically Therefore the IMF, Domestic Construction Firms are secured by the government regulations and some traditional Practices. However, due to the following reasons: a decrease in public works, an increase in uncertainty of market prediction, the change of bid system, and increase in construction firms, recently the competition among construction firms has became keen. Under the serious competition, In order that medium-size construction firms survive in the construction market, it is need to establish the strategy that could increase productivity. In order to establish the strategy, firstly, construction firms should set up an appraisal standard of construction firms. This paper propose a suitable appraisal standard that construction firm's strategy establish in environment change of the construction industry.

  • Nowadays, the importance of role of the international standardization keeps increasing substantially. We have already known that international standards have a huge impact on many companies, industries and nations. So far, it has been thought that standardizations are needed after the new products come into the market and are mass-produced in order to encourage the use of the products, systems and services. Standardization will make the products more safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly for the users. However, in these days, a paradigm of the standardization has been changed. International standard becomes a tool for dominating global market and is the most important ingredients of the competitiveness and economic progress of the nation and enterprises. Many countries like Japan, Germany and U.S. use the standardization as an effective method to dominate the market and monopolized the new technologies. Therefore, worldwide competition for the standardization of the new technology become fierce. Korea is leading the technology in semiconductor field. However, activities of international standardization are not sufficient. In order to boost the standardization activities in Korea from industry, academia, and research institute, this paper briefly introduce the international standard organization and some critical issues for next-generation semiconductor memory such as flexible semiconductor, automobile semiconductor and wearable devices.

  • To survive head-to-head competition, we should keep our labor productivities above those of other nations. However, our labor productivities are low compared to those of the developed countries. It is the well-known fact that we make up for the productivities with long work hours. Entering the line of developed nations safely and enjoying well-being age freely, we need to achieve high labor productivities without sacrificing work hours. What would be a fine solution? Back to the basics! Although it is important to enforce R&D on high-tech products, we should have so-called bluebird philosophy, being faithful to the basics and trying to find solutions at a stone's throw. Basics of basics may be unceasing improvement, establishing reasonable standard times, and maintaining them. To support going back to the basics, this thesis proposes VITAMAX, a motion and time study software. As VITAMAX stands for "Visual Improvement and Time Analysis for Maximizing Profits", it provides a simple and powerful visual tool which is useful for improving manual works and determining standard times. Since VITAMAX is based on the Microsoft Excel and VBA, it is very cost-effective and easy to use. VITAMAX may contribute to the profit increase of manufacturing companies, especially for the small and medium-sized enterprise.
