독립형 PV시스템용 전력변환기 제어 알고리즘 (The Control Algorithm of Power-conditioner for Stand-alone PV System)

  • This paper deals with stand-alone Photovoltaic system(SPVS) with charge and discharge controller. Main power source of SPVS are generally solar cell and battery. therefore SPVS can be classified into variable types in accordance with connection type between battery and solar cell. Mainly used one of them is direct connection type which has advantages such as simple structure and simple controller. However most big drawback of this system is energy loss by voltage disharmony between solar cell and battery. Therefore SPVS with charge and discharge controller which can operate solar cell at maximum power point is designed and analyzed by simulation in this paper.

Grid-Tied and Stand-Alone Operation of Distributed Generation Modules Aggregated by Cascaded Boost Converters

  • This paper presents the modeling, control and simulation of an interconnection system (ICS) of cascaded distributed generation (DG) modules for both grid-tied and stand-alone operations. The overall configuration of the interconnection system is given. The interconnection system consists of a cascaded DC/DC boost converters and a DC/AC inverter. Detailed modeling of the interconnection system incorporating a cascaded architecture has not been considered in previous research. In this paper, suitable control systems for the cascaded architecture of power electronic converters in an interconnection system have been studied and modeled in detail. A novel control system for DC/DC boost converters is presented based on a droop voltage controller. Also, a novel control strategy for DC/AC inverters based on the average large signal model to control the aggregated DG modules under both grid-tied and stand-alone modes is demonstrated. Simulation results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed control systems.

  • Nowadays, in islands where electricity should be provided autonomously, stand-alone microgrid technologies using renewable energy such as sunlight generation and wind power generation come into wide use. The microgrid electricity generation using renewable energy is greatly affected by the natural environment of a site. In order to maintain stable electricity supply for fluctuating electricity generation due to natural environment, the energy management via EMS is positively necessary. In existing stand-alone microgrid EMS, system operation logic is not changeable flexibly because compiled or builded codes are released into the EMS of a site, respectively. In this paper, we designed a flexible operating script-based microgrid EMS Framework for various sites and applied it to some island sites. We could confirm its usability.

Smart Power Management System for Leisure-ship

  • A leisure ship has a stand-alone type power system, and a generator is in use on this condition. But the generator cannot be operated in condition of leisure activity, ocean measurement and etc, because of environment and noise. Recently, renewable energy system is connected with power system of the leisure-ship for saving energy. The renewable energy system can not supply the stable power to leisure-ship because power generation changes according to weather condition. And most of the leisure ship is operated without methodical power management system. This study's purpose is to develop SPMS(Smart Power Management System) algorithm using the renewable energy (photovoltaic, wind power and etc.). The proposed algorithm is able to supply stable the power according to operation mode. Furthermore, the SPMS manages electric load (sailing and communication equipment, TV, fan, etc.) and reduces operating times of the generator. In this paper, the proposed algorithm is realized and executed by using LabVIEW. As a result, the hour for operating the generator is minimized.

  • 본 논문에서는 농형유도발전기를 이용한 독립형 풍력발전시스템의 최대전력 추종제어기법을 제안한다. 농형 유도발전기는 벡터제어 방식으로 동작되는데 d-축 전류에 의해 여자가 제어되고 q-측 전류에 토크가 제어된다. 이 토크제어에 의해 발전기는 풍속의 변화에 따라 최대전력을 발생하도록 가변속 제어된다. 발전된 전력은 ac/dc PWM 컨버터에 의해 직류 출력단 배터리뱅크로 충전된다. 제안된 기법은 M-G세트로 구성된 터빈시뮬레이터를 이용하여 실험적으로 검증된다.

  • 본 논문은 출력단에 LC필터를 갖는 3상 PWM 인버터의 출력전압을 일정전압/일정주파수로 제어하기 위한 새로운 비선형 제어기법을 제안한다. 출력 LC필터를 포함한 비선형 모델을 궤환선형화(feedback linearization) 이론을 통하여 선형화하고 선형 제어이론에 기초하여 제어기를 설계한다. 이 제어기는 LC 출력필터를 갖는 PWM 인버터를 사용하는 독립형 풍력발전 시스템에 적용된다. 제안한 제어기법은 정상상태와 부하변동의 과도상태에 대한 실험을 통하여 검증된다.

  • In recent years, the power demand has been increasing steadily and the occurrence of maximum power demand has been moving from the summer season to the winter season in Korea. And since the control of electric power supply and demand is more important under those situations, a micro-grid system began to emerge as a keyword for the sTable operation of electric power system. A micro-gird power system is composed of various kinds of distributed generators(DG) such as small diesel generator, wind turbine, photo-voltaic generator and energy storage system(ESS). This paper introduces a method to determine the optimal capacities of the distributed generators which are installed in a stand-alone type of microgrid power system based on the fundamental proportion of diesel generator. At first, the fundamental proportion of diesel generator will be determined by changing from 0 to 50 percent. And then we will optimize the capacities of renewable energy resources and ESS according to load patterns. Lastly, after recalculating the capacity of ESS with consideration for SOC constraints, the optimal capacities of distributed generators will be decided.

  • This paper describes development of an implantable power switching system for biotelemetry system. This system is designed and manufactured to achieve as small size and low power dissipation as possible, using pulse powered circult and CMOS technology. The function of the power switching system is to connect the implantable battery to implanted sensors and, electronics systems by receiving intermittent command signals from external circuits. The power dissipation of this system was about $15{\mu}W$ for a stand-by operation.

엔진발전기와 연계된 BESS의 무순단 모드 전환 기법 (Seamless Transfer Method of BESS Connected by Engine Generator)

  • In remote islands PV (Photo Voltaic) panel with BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) supplies electric power to the customers in parallel operation with EG (Engine Generator) to save fuel consumption and to mitigate environmental load. BESS operates in voltage control mode when it supplies power to the load alone, while it operates in current control mode when it supplies power to the load in parallel with EG. This paper proposes a smooth mode change scheme from current control to voltage control of BESS by adding proper initial value to the integral part of voltage control, and a smooth mode change scheme from voltage control to current control by tracking the EG output voltage to the BESS output voltage using PLL (Phase-Locked Loop). The feasibility of proposed schemes was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC, and the feasibility of actual hardware system was verified by experiments with scaled prototype. It was confirmed that the proposed schemes offer a seamless operation in the stand-alone power system in remote islands.

  • This paper deals with stand-alone PV power generation system with charge and discharge controller for the LED road sign. Main power source of PV system are generally solar cell and battery. Therefore PV system can be classified into variable types in accordance with connection type between battery and solar sell. Mainly used on of them is direct connection type which has advantage such as simple structure and simple controller. To verify the proposed PV generation system for the LED road sign, the detail simulation and experiment results indicate that operating characteristics are verified by experiment with a laboratory prototype in this paper.
