Decomposition of Carbon Dioxide Using Sr Ferrites with Various Compositions (다양한 조성의 Sr 페라이트를 이용한 CO2분해 반응 특성)

  • Sr ferrites with various compositions were applied to the decomposition of $CO_2$ to mitigate the greenhouse effect. In the reduction reaction of Sr ferrites up to 80$0^{\circ}C$, starting temperature was lower with increasing of Sr content in Sr ferrite. However, the reactivity was higher with decreasing Sr content. In the $CO_2$ decomposition reaction with reduced Sr ferrites, the amount of CO and C were depended on the ratio of Sr and Fe in Sr ferrite. With increasing Sr content. larger amount of C were deposited on the surface of ferrite. Therefore, in order to apply Sr ferrites for the decomposition of $CO_2$, it is necessary to control the ratio of Sr and Fe according to the conditions used.

Effect of Additives on the Orientation of Magnetic Sr-Ferrite Powders in Powder Injection Molded Compacts (분말사출성형체에서 Sr-페라이트 자성분말의 배향도에 미치는 첨가제의 영향)

  • The effect of additives on the orientation of magnetic Sr-ferrite powders has been studied during powder injection molding under applied magnetic field for fabricating multi-pole anisotropic sintered Sr-ferrite magnets. The orientation of the Sr-ferrite powders depends sensitively on the fluidity of powder-binder mixture, related to the binder additives and the injection molding temperature, and the magnetic field intensity. The orientation of Sr-ferrite powders is good for the compacts with stearic acid added in the binder system of paraffin wax/carnauba wax/HDPE, but it is poor for the compacts with silane coupling agent added. The orientation of Sr-ferrites higher than 80% is achieved at the following useful conditions; apparent viscosity lower than 2500 poise in 1000 sec$^{-1}$ shear rate and applied magnetic field higher than 4 kOe.

Properties of Sr-Ferrites Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering Process (스파크 플라즈마 소결법으로 제조된 Sr-페라이트의 특성)

  • Anisotropic Sr-ferrites were prepared by the spark plasma sintering process (SPS). The Ferrite particles were oriented and densified during sintering process, and the anisotropic ferrites were manufactured at low sintering temperature and a remarkable short time processing by SPS method. It was showed that the anisotropy of ferrite particles at the specimen outer side was more higher than that at the specimen center, and it seems possible that the orientation of ferrite particles was related to DC current. Magnetic and physical properties of sintered Sr-ferrites are Br = 3.15 kG, iHc : 2.67 kOe, and density : 5.033 g/cm$^3$ when the samples were sintered for 8 minutes at 106$0^{\circ}C$.

  • The alignment of Sr-ferrite magnetic powders, which is usually related to the fluidity and the applied magnetic field, is investicated in the anisotropic Sr-ferrite / resin-bonded permanent magnets. The magnetic powder alignment is observed to increase with the applied magnetic field and the fluidity which is a function of molding temperature and powder packing ratio. The best magnetic powder alignment is achieved at the following conditions; Sr-ferrite packing ratio of 56vol%, apparent viscosity of about 3000 poise in $1000sec^{-1}$ shear rate, and applied magnetic field of about 5kOe. The degree of preferred orientation of the magnetic powders in the field direction, as determined by the dc hysterisis graphs, is 84~85% (0.84~0.85). This result is in agreement with the value of 0.85 obtained by the X-ray experiments in the $2{\theta}$ range of ${23~40}^0$. The best magnetic properties obtained are:2.2kG of remanent flux density, 2.2MGOe of maximum energy product.

  • 본 논문은 Sr 페라이트 플라스틱자석의 자기특성에 관하여 연구한 것이다. Sr 페라이트의 조성은 SrO5,9Fe2O3에 CaO, SiO2, Na2SiO3 및 AI2O3를 미량 첨가하고, PVA(polyvinylalchohol) 7%수용액을 가하여 질소분위기에서 120$0^{\circ}C$, 2시간 소성하였다. PVA를 이용한 탄소코팅법으로 분말제조시 분쇄효과를 얻었으며, 페라이트의 함량을 증가시켜서 자기특성을 향상시켰다. Sr 페라이트분말과 폴리아미드 6을 75-90wt%로 혼련한 수 0-10 kOe의 자장을 인가하여 이방성 Sr 페라이트 플라스틱 자석을 제조하였다. 자석제조시 사출온도 27$0^{\circ}C$, 사출압력 120kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 자장으 세기 8 kOe 및 자장인가시간 6초에서 최적의 사출성형조건을 얻었다. 실험결과 자장중 사출성형법을 이용하여 제조한 이방성 플라스틱자석에서 (BH)max=-2.0MGOe의 특성을 얻었다.

  • We prepared EM wave absorbers by using recycled Sr ferrite for GHz frequency, and investigated the effects of carbon additions and preparation temperatures on their EM wave absorption properties. A Sr ferrite EM wave absorber with the ratio of Sr ferrite: silicon rubber: carbon = 80 : 13.6: 6.4 wt% prepared at 7$0^{\circ}C$ showed -24 dB at 9.4 GHz and -23 dB at 5.5 GHz for 2 mm and 3 mm thickness, respectively.

  • We prepared EM wave absorbers by using recycled Ba and Sr ferrites for GHz frequency, and investigated the effects of carbon additions, thickness and preparation temperatures on their EM wave absorption properties. We clarified that it is very important to consider carbon amounts in Ba and Sr ferrites and preparation temperature for Ba and Sr ferrite EM wave absorbers with high quality. In this study, the developed a EM Wave absorber satisfying over 20 dB.

  • These experiments were carried out to examine the effects of element substitution of Zn and La-Zn for Sr-ferrite. The calcined properties of Zn and La-Zn element substitution were examined, and also the sintered magnetic properties were compared with the stoichiometric condition. The magnetization properties of calcined SrM materials is as follows; M$\_$s/ : 61.06 emu/g. Also, the magnetization properties of calcined Zn$\_$0.3/-SrM materials is as follows; M$\_$s/ : 66.90 emu/g. The sintered magnetic properties of (La-Zn)$\_$0.3/-SrM composition is as follows; B$\_$r/ : 4.21 kG, BH$\_$max/: 4.19 MGOe.

  • These experiments were carried out to examine the effects of elemental substitution of Mn and La-Mn on Sr-ferrite. The calcined properties for the Mn and La-Mn substitution were examined, and the sintered magnetic properties were compared with the stoichiometric condition. The magnetic properties of calcined SrM and (La-Mn)$_{0.3}$-SrM composition were as follows, respectively; M$_{s}$ : 61.06 emu/g, $_{i}$H$_{c}$ : 4.45 kOe and M$_{s}$ : 61.06 emu/g, $_{i}$H$_{c}$ : 4.46 kOe. Also, the sintered ferrite magnets of Mn$_{0.3}$-SrM and [(La-Mn)$_{0.3}$-SrM exhibited a similar properties to the stoichiometric composition but the coercivity of (La-Mn)$_{x}$-SrM was decreased rapidly with x=0.5.

Magnetic properties of Sr-ferrite by La-Co substitution (La-Co 치환량에 따른 스트론튬 페라이트의 자기특성)

  • This experiment was carried out to examine the effects of La-Co substitution on Sr-ferrite. The magnetic properties of calcined and sintered materials varied with the substitutional amount of La and Co elements in Sr-ferrite. Anisotropy field and coercivity for Sr ferrite were increased with raising La-Co substitution amounts. The microstructure observation for Sr ferrite substituted by La-Co revealed that La-Co inhabited grain growth during calcination and promoted lateral grain growth during sintering. The relationship between $B_{r}$ and $_{i}$ /$H_{c}$ for La-Co substituted Sr-ferrite was found to be $B_{r}$$≒0.097_{i}$ /$H_{c}$/+4500. In case of $SrFe_{12}$ $O_{19}$, $B_{r} was 4090 G and $_{ i}$$H_{c}$ was 3560 Oe, but $B_{r}$ was 4080 G and and $_{i}$ $H_{c}$ was 4800 Oe for $Sr_{0.7}$ $La_{0.3}$ $Fe_{11.7}$ /$Co_{0.3}$ $O_{19}$.
