  • In this paper, we present a novel tunable microstrip bandpass filter based on split ring resonators (SRRs). The varactors are reverse-biased semiconductor diode, and are connected between the concentric rings of the SRR. An individual varactor loaded SRR based bandpass tunable filter module is analyzed. Then a second order tunable filter with 7% fractional bandwidth and a tuning range from 2.75 to 2.86 GHz is assembled from basic filter modules. The simulator HFSS (V10) is used to design the tunable filter and to simulate. The results show good characteristics is created.

  • We demonstrate an ultrathin metamaterial for polarization independent perfect absorption as well as a band-pass filter (BPF) which works at a higher frequency band compared to the perfect absorption band. The planar metamaterial is comprised of three layers, symmetric split ring resonators (SSRRs) at the front and structured ground plane (SGP) at the back separated by a dielectric layer. The perfect metamaterial absorber (MA) can realize near 100% absorption due to high electromagnetic losses from the electric and/or magnetic resonances within a certain frequency band. The thickness of the structure is only 1/28 of the maximum absorption wavelength.

  • This paper proposes a metamaterial (MTM) absorber for 2.45 GHz band applications. The unit cell of the proposed absorber consists of an electric LC (ELC) resonator and a strip line, which are printed on opposite sides of the substrate. The ELC resonator comprises two split ring resonators (SRRs) and a connecting line with a resistor. The designed absorber exhibits an absorption of 94 % and a half-max bandwidth of 0.16 GHz at 2.45 GHz.

  • In this article, new microstrip slow-wave bandpass filters using open loop resonator loaded with inter-digital capacitive fingers is proposed. The filter features not only compact in size, but also exhibits spurious stop-band rejection. Filters of this type with elliptic function and Chebyshev response are demonstrated. There is good agreement between experimental and full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation results.

  • In this paper, Ku-band low phase noise oscillator using DSRR structure resonator based on metamaterial was proposed. To improve the phase noise of the oscillator, the proposed resonator consist of a DSRR strcuture based on metamaterial. The proposed resonator have a characteristic of $S_{11}$ is -0.25 dB, and $S_{21}$ in -44.59 dB at 14.67 GHz, respectively. At 14.67 GHz, the proposed Ku-band low phased oscillator achieves a output power of 2.03 dBm, $2^{nd}$ harmonic of -36.04 dBc, and phase noise of -130.63 dBc at the 100 kHz offset, respectively.

  • This paper presents simple expressions for the effective permeability of bulk metamaterial consisting of ring resonators (RRs) or split ring resonators (SRRs) based on the convenient geometrical factors of the structure compared with wavelength. The resonant frequency dependence of the medium permeability, including loss effects, is analyzed in detail. Inverting the analysis equations, useful design (or synthesis) equations are derived for a systematic design process with some examples. This paper may particularly be useful for the design of a bulk metamaterial with a specific negative relative permeability at a desired frequency. The loss of metamaterials consisting of RRs (or SRRs) is also analyzed over a wide frequency band from 10 MHz to 10 THz.

  • In this paper, a triple band-notched UWB antennas using a spiral resonator and a complementary split ring resonator is proposed as two types. The band-rejection characteristic of the designed antenna is analyzed through the structure and equivalent circuit model of spiral resonator and CSRR. The measured results of first type antenna show that a VSWR less than 2 was satisfied with a resonant frequency in the range of 1.16~12 GHz and it can be obtained the band-stop performance at 3.3~3.85 GHz, 5.15~6.1 GHz, and 8.025~8.5 GHz. The measured results of second type antenna show that a VSWR less than 2 was satisfied with this antenna works from 1.79 to 12 GHz and it can be achieved the band-notched performance at 3.3~3.88 GHz, 5.12~5.94 GHz, and 8.025~8.51 GHz. Through the measured results, the designed antenna was satisfied UWB band except for triple notched bands.

  • In this paper, we proposed a novel metamaterial unit cell utilizing an interdigital capacitor(IDC) with non-bianisotropic property. Due to the induced magnetic resonance of an IDC unit cell, exotic effective constitutive parameters can be realized like a split ring resonator(SRR). Furthermore, the proposed unit cell is electrically smaller than a conventional SRR unit cell. The effective parameters retrieved from the transmission responses of waveguide measurement method and simulated results show good agreement.

  • In this paper, the T-SRR (Triple Split Ring Resonator) using MNG (mu-Negative) meta-material adapted in a low-loss bandpass filter with 3-stages is suggested. The size of the T-SRR in the proposed bandpass filter with low dielectric constant PCB can be easily controlled. And the ${\lambda}/4$ transmission line theory is applied. The proposed T-SRR and filter have the center frequency of 10 GHz with QL value of 184 for military-satellite communication system in I band. The experimental results of the filter show that the insertion and return losses are 1.44 dB and 17.3 dB with bandwidth of 10 %, respectively. The proposed filter will be redesigned by IPD material etc. should be placed here. These instructions give you guidelines for preparing papers for JICCE.

  • In this paper, we designed and analyzed a 3D isotropic bulk structure consisting of thin wires and SRR's(Split Ring Resonator) with which the permittivity and permeability can be controlled at the same time. For the 3D isotropic bulk structure, first of all, the geometry seen by three main axes must look alike. Thus, we adopted the orthogonal thin wires and symmetrical SRR's. As a result, we constructed metamaterial bulk structures of which effective relative permittivity and permiability are about -0.6 and -1.5, respectively. Its refractive index is about -0.95 in each direction(x, y and z direction). The computed Brillouin dispersion diagram also showed that the proposed structure is almost near isotropic.
