A multi-span bridge has the peak value of resultant girder moment or membrane stress at the interior support. In this paper, the spline finite strip method (FSM) is modified to obtain the more appropriate solution at the interior support where the peak values of solution exist. The modification has been achieved by expressing the shape function with non-periodic B-splines which have multiple knots at the boundary. The modified B-splines have the useful feature for interpolating the curve with sudden change in curvature. Moreover, the modified spline FSM is very efficient in analyzing multi-span box girder bridges, since a bridge can be modeled by an assembly of strips extended along the entire bridge length. Numerical examples of the bridge analysis have been performed to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the new spline FSM.
The digital surface model (DSM) is used for several purposes in photogrammetry, remote sensing and laser scanned data such as orthoimage production, contours erivation, extraction of height information. Creation of a surface model from point-clouds (3-D sparse points) that can be derived from stereo imagery and range data (e.g. laser scanned data) can be done with several mathematical interpolation models. In this paper, thin-plate-spline (TPS) is used for digital surface modeling. Determination of suitable weight is an important problem in thin-plate function for a surface. The Voronoi algorithm has been proposed as a method for determination of the weight in thin-plate-spline. In this paper, methods has been tested for different surfaces. The results show that thin-plate-spline can be independent of weight.
To obtain 3-D topography of EEG records, we propose a new method based on the polygon mapping technique. The method has the low complexity to calculate the interpolation of the EEG records on the scalp and maintains the high resolution topography because the polygon technique performs the interpolation at the only vertexes of each polygon. We implemented the topographic system with 3D barycentric, 3D polynomial and spherical spline algorithms in a personal computer.

The microcell terrain is the most common wireless network terrain in our life. In order to solve wireless network optimization of weak coverage in the microcell terrain, improve call quality and reduce the cost of the premise, power amplifiers in base stations should be adjusted according to user volume. In this paper, characteristics of microcell topography are obtained after analysis. According to the topography characteristics of different microcells, changes in the number of users at different times have been estimated, meanwhile, the number of scatter users are also obtained by monitoring the PCCPCH RSCP and other parameters. Then B-Spline interpolation method has been applied to scatter users to obtain the continuous relationship between the number of users and time. On this basis, power amplification can be chosen according to changes in the number of users. The methods adopted by this paper are also applied in the engineering practice, sampling and interpolation are used to obtain the number of users at all times, so that the power amplification can be adjusted by the number of users in a microcell. Such a method is able to optimize wireless network and achieve a goal of expanding the area of base stations, reduce call drop rate and increase capacity.
Moving objects are spatiotemporal data that change their location or shape continuously over time. Their location coordinates are periodically measured and stored i3l the application systems. The linear function is mainly used to estimate the location information that is not in the system at the query time point. However, a new method is needed to improve uncertainties of the location representation, because the location estimation by linear function induces the estimation error. This paper proposes an application method of the cubic spline interpolation in order to reduce deviation of the location estimation by linear function. First, we define location information of the moving object on the two-dimensional space. Next, we apply the cubic spline interpolation to location estimation of the proposed data model and describe algorithm of the estimation operation. Finally, the precision of this estimation operation model is experimented. The experimentation comes out more accurate results than the method by linear function.
Purpose The principle of nuclear medicine test is divided into two main categories: competition(radioimmunoassay, RIA) and noncompetitive reaction(Immunoradiometric assay, IRMA). It is known that the curve fitting method, which is commonly used in inspection field, uses Spline interpolation in RIA method and Linear interpolation method in IRMA method. Among them, the insulin test using the IRMA test showed a significant difference, especially at low concentrations, despite the same algorithm of linear interpolation between fully automated radio immunoassay analyzers. In this study, we aim to obtain results from applying two different of algorithm using fully automated radio immunoassay analyzers including Gamma pro, Gamma 10, Cobra, and SR300. Materials and Methods A total of 30 test samples were selected for the test of TSH, ferritin, C-peptide, and insulin serum levels. Test was performed by IRMA method. We compared the difference in the results of applying the linear interpolation method and the spline interpolation method to Gamma Pro, Gamma 10, Cobra, and SR300 equipment. Results Two-way ANOVA was used for statistical analysis. The significance level was applied as P <0.05. The results of TSH, ferritin, C-peptide, and insulin tests were compared between the fully automated radio immunoassay analyzers. There was a significant difference between ferritin, C-peptide, and insulin serum levels(P<0.001). TSH didn't show any significant different between the devices(P=0.29). In the difference between linear and spline interpolation, there was no significant difference between insulin test(P=0.08), TSH test(P=0.81), and Ferritin test(P=0.06). However, C-peptide test showed a significant difference(P=0.03). Especially, the insulin test showed significant difference in lower ranges. As a result of comparing and analyzing the difference between the two interpolation methods, the devices in the low concentration group showed significant difference(P<0.001). Conclusion In case of new equipment in the laboratory it is necessary to recognize that there is a difference in the curve fitting method for each automated radio immunoassay analyzers in the low concentration area when the principle of inspection is IRMA method.
Computer simulation plays an important role for a theoretical foundation in convergence technology and the interpolation is to know the unknown values from known values on grid points. Therefore it is an important problem to select an interpolation method for digital simulation. The aim of this paper is to compare analysis of interpolation methods for digital simulation. we test six different interpolation methods namely: Quartic-Lagrangian, Cubic Spline, Fourier, Hermit, PWENO and SL-WENO. Through digital simulation of a linear advection equation, we analyse pros and cons for each method. In order to compare performance, we introduce accuracy computing and Error functions. The accuracy computing is used well-known $L^1-norm$ and the Error functions are dispersion function, dissipation function and total error function. High-order methods well apply to computer simulation, unfortunately, side-effects (Oscillation) happen.
Today, satellite remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) plays an important role as an advanced science and technology. This study was developed a Line Density Algorithm which was clarify and describe the thermal front by using NOAA SST (sea surface temperature) and GIS spatial analysis for systemic and effective management of fish raising industry and sea environmental pollution by land reclamation program. Before this, a study about a interpolation method was carry out which was very important for estimate the hidden value between a special point. For this study Inverse Distance Weighted interpolation, Spline interpolation, Kriging interpolation methods were choose and SST data from 2001 to 2004 in spring (March, April, May) were analyzed. According to the study Kriging interpolation method was the very adaptive method from a practical point of view and excellent in description and precision then others. Finally, the result of this study will be use for develope the Line Density Index Algorism.
This paper proposes a method for extracting tissue cells from an organism image by an electron microscope and getting the whole cell number and the area from the cell. In general, the difference between the cell color and the background is used to extract tissue cell. However, there may be a problem when overlapped cells are seen as a single cell. To solve the problem, we split them by using cell size and curvature. This method has a 99% accuracy rate. To measure the cell area, we compute two areas, the inside and boundary of the cell. The inside is simply calculated by the number of pixels. The cell boundary is obtained by applying super sampling, linear interpolation, and cubic spline interpolation. It improves the error rate, 18%, 19%, and 120% respectively, in comparison to the counting method that counts a pixel area as 1.

Estimation and removal procedures for baseline drift have been developed using linear, cubic spline, and bilineared transformed high pass filter. Linear and cubic spline interpolation with the PQ and TP segmens, which are considered to be isoelectric, as fiducial points ahve been estimated respectively. For a quantitative validation of the estimation procedure, 4 ECGs with arfificial baseline drift were constructed and analyzed by mean square error calculations and amplitude histograms. Also real ECGs were analyzed in a test set of the CSE data set 3 and set 4. Baseline drift detecton rule were designed and new method for the decision of fiducial point were constructed to avoid distorting as the case of premature ventricular or atrial contraction. From these comparison, proposed cubic spline method with PQ and TP segment (CS_PQ & TP) emerged as the most efficient method.
