  • In this paper, experimental studies are mainly carried out for the evaluation of precision cutting performance of a machine tool spincle running at high speed with the low load, in consideration of the bending vibration characteristics. As a result a process in presented for the practical application in the machine tools industry to evaluate the cutting performance in design stage of spindles.

광 디스크 장치에서 광량 차동증폭에 의한 디스크 진동 검출 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vibration Detection Method of Disc by Differential Amplifying Optical Power in Optical Disc Media)

  • 광 디스크 장치에서 고배속 모우드로 언밸런스 디스크가 동작될 경우, 진동으로 인한 포커스 및 트래킹 서보가 불안정해져 데이터 검색 시간 지연 및 불안정 동작을 야기한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 광 디스크 장치에서 사용되고 있는 3 빔 방식의 광 픽업(Piek-up)의 경우, 면진동이나 편심이 있는 디스크 동작시 메인 빔에 따른 포토 다이오드 상의 광 스폿의 위치도 변화된다. 이러한 특성을 이용하여 언밸런스 디스크 동작시 광픽업의 포토 다이오드 A와 C에 수신되는 광량은 디스크의 언밸런스량에 따라 결정되어진다. 따라서 포토다이오드에 수신되는 A와 C의 광량의 변화를 차동 증폭함으로써 디스크의 언밸런스량 검출이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 고배속 모우드에서 포커스 및 트래킹 서보의 최소 특성을 분석하고, 디스크의 언밸런스량을 전기적인 신호로 검출하는 방법과 검출된 언밸런스량에 따라 광 픽업의 스핀들 모터(Swindle Motor)의 회전수를 조절함으로써 안정적이고 정확한 데이터 검색이 가능한 하드웨어 및 펌웨어 구조를 제안하였다.

Statistical Qualitative Analysis on Chemical Mechanical Polishing Process and Equipment Characterization

  • Process characterization of the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process for undensified phosphosilicate glass (PSG) film is reported using design of experiments (DOE). DOE has been addressed to experimenters to understand the relationship between input variables and responses of interest in a simple and efficient way. It is typically beneficial for determining the adequate size of experiments with multiple process variables and making statistical inferences for the responses of interests. Equipment controllable parameters to operate the machine include the down force (DF) of the wafer carrier, pressure on the backside of the wafer, table and spindle speed (SS), slurry flow rate, and pad condition. None of them is independent; thus, the interaction between parameters also needs to be indicated to improve process characterization in CMP. In this paper, we have selected the five controllable equipment parameters, such as DF, back pressure (BP), table speed (TS), SS, and slurry flow (SF), most process engineers recommend to characterize the CMP process with respect to material removal rate (RR) and film uniformity as a percentage. The polished material is undensified PSG. PSG is widely used for the plananization in multi-layered metal interconnects. We identify the main effect of DF, BP, and TS on both RR and film uniformity, as expected, by the statistical modeling and analysis on the metrology data acquired from a series of $2^{5-1}$ fractional factorial design with two center points. This revealed the film uniformity of the polished PSG film contains two and three-way interactions. Therefore, one can easily infer that the process control based on better understanding of the process is the key to success in semiconductor manufacturing, typically when the wafer size reaches 300 mm and is continuously scheduled to expand up to 450 mm in or little after 2012.

Al5052-O 판재의 최적 점진성형 연구 (Optimization of Single Point Incremental Forming of Al5052-O Sheet)

  • 점진 판재 성형은 금형을 제작하지 않고 판재를 가공하는 방법으로써 빠른 시제품 제작과 소량 생산에 적합한 성형법이다. 이러한 점진 판재 성형의 공정 변수로 공구 직경, 매 스탭당 z-방향 깊이, 공구 이송속도, 공구 회전 속도 등은 성형품의 품질에 크게 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 Al5052-O(0.8mm) 판재를 사용하여 Varying Wall Angle Conical Frustum 모델의 점진성형을 실시하였으며, 각각의 변수들의 조합에서 성형성을 판단하였다. 다구찌 기법을 사용하여 점진성형 변수들의 조합을 찾아내고, 그레이 관계형 최적화를 통하여 최적 성형 변수 값의 조합을 찾아 내였다. 최종 성형물의 품질은 성형성, 스프링 백, 두께 감소량을 측정하여 판단하였다. 본 연구의 실험 조건에서의 최적의 변수 조합은 공구직경 6 mm, 회전속도 60rpm, 매 스탭당 z-방향 깊이 0.3 mm, 이송속도 500 mm/min으로 판단되었다.

주파수 분석에 의한 선삭면의 표면 거칠기 인자 해석 (Components Analysis of Surface Roughness in Turning Process by Frequency Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 선반 작업에 있어서 공구 형상과 작업 조건 변화에 대한 표면 거칠기 곡선의 형성 인자를 규명하기 위한 것이다. SNMG120404, SNMG120408과 DNMG150404, DNMG150408의 공구가 사용되었고, 절삭 속도와 이송의 작업 조건이 변화되었다. 즉, 절삭 속도는 150, 200, 250 m/min, 이송은 0.05, 0.1, 0.3mm/rev으로 변화시켰다. 주파수 분석 결과에 의하면, 표면 거칠기는 이송에 가장 큰 영향을 받았다. 또한 바이트의 떨림은 표면 거칠기뿐만 아니라 파상도에도 영향을 마치고 있었다. 아울러 이송이 감소할수록 표면 거칠기에 미치는 영향이 증가함을 알았다. 끝으로, 정상적인 경우의 주축 떨림은 표면 거칠기에 거의 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 공구 형상은 표면 거칠기 곡선 형성 인자의 생성 변수가 되지 않는다.

파워바이스 증력장치 최적설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimum Design of Power Vice-Strengthening Device)

  • In the current machining industry, machining precision is necessary and machining is being carried out. In this ultra-precision machining industry, the fixation of the workpiece is very important and the degree of machining depends on the degree of fixation of the workpiece. In ultra-precision machining, various methods, such as using a vise chuck or the like and using bolt nut coupling, are used for fixing a workpiece to an existing machine tool. In particular, when the precision gripping force of the jig is insufficient during machining of the ultra-precision mold parts, the machining material shakes due to the vibration or friction, and the machining precision is lowered. In the ultra-precision machining of power transmission parts, such as gears, the accuracy of the product is then determined. In addition, the amount of heat generated during machining has a significant effect on the machining accuracy. This is because the vibration value changes according to the grasp force of the jig that fixes the workpiece, and the change in the calorific value due to the change in the main shaft rotation speed of the ultra-precision machining. The increase in the spindle rotation speed during machining decreased the heat generation during machining, and the machining accuracy was also good, and it was confirmed that the machining heat changed according to the fixed state of the workpiece and the machining accuracy also changed. In this study, we try to optimize the driving part of the power vise by using structural analysis, rather than the power vise, using the basic mechanical-type power unit.

엔드밀에 의한 원통 가공시 절삭조건에 따른 진원도의 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the roundness effect for the cutting conditions in a cylinder cutting by end mill)

  • In this study the effect of roundness error with respect to the cutting conditions using the external cylindrical work piece by end mill cutting in a machining center was studied. the end mill used in this study is HSS coated with Ti-N which is of Ø 12-4 flutes. The material of workpiece is SM20C and cutting oil is used as a cooling flued The cutting experiments were carried out for the several cutting conditions(depth of cut height of end mill feed rate revolution per minute and cutting direction) and their roundness effects were compared using the least squares circle measuring method. The experimental results are summarized as follows : 1) The cutting depth is dominant for the roundness of a cylindrical work piece and the cutting speed must be determined precisely when the cutting depth is large 2) When the cutting direction in circular manufacturing is the same with the spindle rotation i.e up-cutting condition the surface roundness is also improved.

서까래 가공기 개발 및 시뮬레이션 검증 (Development of Rafter Processing Machine and Simulation Verification)

  • Han-ok (the Korean traditional house) is famous for its beauty and healthful aspects. However, its construction cost is too high because of the manual process of parts such as rafter, timber, etc. These days, many people want to build a modernized Korean traditional house at a low cost. In order to do so, the rafter machining process is required to be automatized using a CNC machine. It is also observed that, generally the timber does not have a uniform shape. Therefore, it is also needed to examine the timber shape before starting its processing. This paper presents the concept design of the rafter processing CNC machine, and a 3D laser scanning system. The laser scanner is developed to acquire 3D details of the timber shape. Furthermore, the results of simulated experiments are presented to investigate surface roughness during the machining process of the timber. Since cutting parameters largely influence on surface roughness and cusps formation, it is needed to achieve optimal machining parameters. Several experiments were carried out changing cutting parameters such as cutting tool diameter, feed-rate, and spindle speed.

패각의 제조한 탄산칼슘의 형상제어 (Shape control of calcium carbonate prepared from shell resources)

  • 굴 패각으로부터 탄산가스 화합법에 의해 제조된 결정질의 침강성 탄산칼슘을 출발원료로 하여, 습식법으로 비정질 탄산칼슘을 제조하였으며 그리고 형상제어를 행하였다. 그 결과 비정질 탄산칼슘은 결정질의 침강성 탄산칼슘을 묽은 염산용액으로 용해시킨 뒤 여기에 묽은 소다회 용액의 급속한 혼합, 침전 및 비속적인 여과과정에 따라 제조할 수 있었다. 그리고 니상 상태의 비정질 탄산칼슘을 이용하여 반응온도; 2~$85^{\circ}C$, 반응시간;5~60분의 범위에서 각각 결정화시켜 입방형, 침상형, 방추형, 구형, 판상형의 결정질 탄산칼슘을 선택적으로 제조하였다.

마이크로 홀의 EDM 가공 시 생산성 향상을 위한 가공공정의 최적화 (Process Optimization for Productivity Improvement during EDM machining of a micro-hole)

  • Micro electrical discharge machining (${\mu}EDM$) has been used for non-conventional material removal. One drawback of ${\mu}EDM$ is low productivity. In this study, we tried to find the optimal machining conditions to manufacture the micro hole with an optimal machining time without loss of accuracy. Taguchi method was used to figure out the relation between machining parameters and characteristics of the process. It was found that the electrode wear, the entrance and exit clearance gave a significant effect on the diameter of the micro hole when the diameter of the electrode was identical. Grey relational analysis was used to determine the optimal machining condition for minimum machining time without loss of accuracy. The obtained optimal machining condition was the input voltage of 80V, the capacitance of 680pF, the resistance of $500{\Omega}$, the feed rate of $1.5{\mu}m$/s and the spindle speed of 2900rpm. The machining time was reduced to 48% without loss of accuracy under the optimal machining condition.
