노인의 여가참여유형에 따른 생활만족도의 (Differences in Life Satisfaction by Leisure Participation Types of the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore a typology of leisure participation, investigate determinants of leisure participation types, and analyze differences in life satisfaction by the types of leisure participation of the elderly. The data source for this research was the 2014 Time Use Survey conducted by the Korea National Statistical office (KNSO). The statistical methods for the analysis were mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, Duncan test, cluster analysis, and logistic regression analysis. Leisure participation were classified into five types based on five categories; social activities, religious activities, media, sports, time-spending activity. The five types were named "general", "insufficient", "religious oriented", "media oriented", and sports oriented" type. Gender, health condition were identified as important determinants for the types. Life satisfaction was different according to leisure participation type of the elderly. Religious oriented type showed the highest score of life satisfaction and media oriented type showed the lowest.

  • We will obtain deep wide-field images of the 150-200 nearby bright galaxies in the southern hemisphere, in order to explore the origin of faint extended features in the outer regions of target galaxies. Using KMTNet telescopes, we will take very deep images, spending ~ 4.5 hr for the B and R filters for each object. With this dataset, we will look for diffuse, low-surface brightness structures including outer disks, truncated disks, tidal features/stellar streams, and faint companions.

  • Demands on dealing with multimedia data through the network have been increased, and networking multimedia devices require processing, transmitting , and receiving the digital data. In order to implement the network for high performance and low cost, we may have to integrate the dedicated hardware into a system on a chip by spending an extra amount of silicon resource. In this paper, we describe hardware implementation of TCP/IP protocol stack which is now popular to connect multiple PCs and peripherals by means of networks. For evaluation we used ALTERA APEX 20K600EBC652 FPGA with 600,000 gates. The operating frequency is estimated 29.9MHz and it used area of $26\%$.

What Happens When Games Users Have a Tool to Play Better: The effect of mobile accessibility to game user's usage duration and game involvement

  • In the domain of IS, game was used as a tool to enhance the results of decision making, education and more. In another stream of research, researchers focused on revealing the motive of people playing games. This study focuses on the effect of the tool; increased accessibility via mobile, to online game using patterns and behaviors. Due human reaction towards competition, technology acceptance and the online game's gambling traits, it is expected that the increased mobile accessibility (tool) will increase and intensify the game playing behavior. Also, it is expected that the in-game purchase will increase as well. In depth interview with both game service providers and players is planned to confirm that the mobile version acted as a tool to increase accessibility, rather than a additional game. Survey along with an interview is to be conducted to find relevant play and spending patterns if they are to exist.

Stock Excess Return, R&D intensity and Market Concentration: A Study of IT Firms in India

  • This paper empirically investigates the role of R&D intensity on market concentration of firms using four key market valuation variables, namely (1) market share, (2) labor intensity, (3) firm age and, (4) firm's market value. The empirical tests use database at firm level for the Indian IT sector from 1999 to 2013 from the CMIE Prowess database. The results of the regression analyses partially support our hypothesis that R&D intensity positively influences firm's market value measure by the H-index. The test results are consistent with the hypotheses that R&D spending is more valuable for firms with larger market shares, higher labor intensity, and firms that are diversified.

  • Recently, high performance concrete developed has a good quality at fresh and hardened state, but high binder contents results in spending much money on manufacturing and many cracks by drying and autogenous shrinkage. Therefore, in this paper, not only prevention of cracks caused by drying and autogenous shrinkage, but improvement of quality and accmplishment of economy by applying F.A(fly ash), S.F(silica fume) and CSA(calcium sulfa aluminate) expansive additives as an inorganic admixtures in W/B 35% are discussed. According to the experimental results, when 5% of CSA Expansive additives and 15:5 (F.A:S.F)are replaced at unit cement content, high performance concrete with both good compensation of drying and autogenous shrinkage at hardened state is accomplished.

  • The Electroencephalogram (EEG) and evoked potential (EP) t;ave widely been used for study of brain functions. The EEG and EP signals acquired from multi-channel electrodes placed on the head surface are often interfered by other relatively large physiological signals such as electromyogram (EMG) or electroculogram (EOG). Since these artifact-affected EEG signals degrade EEG mapping, the removal of the artifact-affected EEGs is one of the key elements in neuro-functional mapping. Conventionally this task has been carried out by human experts spending lots of examination time. In this paper a neural-network based classification is proposed to replace or to reduce human expert's efforts and time. From experiments, the neural-network based classification performs as good as human experts : variation of decisions between the neural network and human expert appears even smaller than that between human experts.

보육의 특성에 따른 유아의 코티솔 패턴 (Children's Cortisol Patterning at ChildCare Centers)

  • This study examined cortisol patterning in 160 children(79 boys, 81 girls; aged 4-5) attending twelve childcare centers in Seoul and Kyunggi Province. Saliva samples for the assay of cortisol were collected twice a day at 10 : 30 am and 3 : 30 pm. Saliva samples were collected again within a week after the first collection. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The cortisol level of the afternoon showed neither increase nor decrease compared to morning. Regression analysis indicated that time children spent at childcare centers accounted for increased afternoon cortisol levels; that is, higher levels of afternoon cortisol were associated with more hours per day at childcare centers.

  • The coast area of our country has various tourist attraction factors of its own such as plenty of islands, uncontaminated waters and so on. Nevertheless, sea tourism and leisure facilities have not been developed enough since the national tourist/leisure policies have mainly been focused on the land tourism so far. Recently, the lake and sea areas are becoming more an more popular to people for spending their leisure times, and they, especially the young generations, are eagerly searching for some good ocean spots to enjoy the dynamics maritime sports. In this paper, we worked on the first design phase of environmentally and visually adaptive yacht, taking the cost effectiveness and the safety factors into account as well.
