  • This study is a kind of preliminary research in order to propose and suggest the plan of performance improvement for the speed-up through the examination of operational condition on the field for signal system facility on the conventional railway, in order to obtain the elemental technology from the technical development for utilization of high speed train which will be run on the Korea Conventional Line and, finally, in order to propose the specification of signal system using for high speed and the scheme of establishment for the optimal signal system.

  • Experimental study is conducted to clarify pressure variation of the passenger cabin of conventional train. These pressure variation may give rise to the ear-discomfort. Generally ear-discomfort has been considered as a problem related to high speed train. Because there is also a good progress to speed-up for conventional line, this isn't only a phenomena related to high speed train any longer. In this study, tile pressure variation of interior, gangway and exterior of saemaeul passenger car is measured using the atmospheric pressure sensors in Honam line. From the results of experiment, the pressure variation per second almost close in upon the limitation in the case of Noryong tunnel. Therefore, to accomplish speed-up for conventional train, it may be necessary to study a serial ventilating and the airtightness of carbody.

  • In order to speed up basic concept is to enhance high speed, curve limit speed, cross limit speed, acceleration/deceleration speed. It is important to optimal interface, fundamental technology of vehicle, rail, electrical power, and signal system. Tilting train has advantage minimizing investment cost of infra railway system for increasing train limit speed in curve. the developed tilting train should be operated to commercial service speed 180km/h of 200km/h at KNR upgrade railroad. This paper proposed the basic model of system engineering for developing of tilting EMU(maximum operation speed : 180km/h) with speed-up of conventional railway system.

퍼지동조 속도관측기를 이용한 직류서보전동기의 저속운전 특성 개선 (Improvement of Low Speed Operation Characteristic of DC Servo Motor Using a Fuzzy Tuning Speed Observer)

  • This paper deals with speed control of DC servo motor using a Fuzzy tuning observer. Speed sensor detect a speed of rotor continuously. But it have a limit as a driving speed to detect speed precisely. So it is problem to improve the performance of the driving system. To solve the problem, it is studied to detect a speed of DC motor without sensor. In particular, study on the method to estimate the speed using the observer is performed a lot. In this parer, the gain of the observer is properly set up using the fuzzy observer. The fuzzy observer has a superior transient characteristic and is easy to implement compared the existing method is designed. It estimate the derivative of the armature current directly using the armature current measured in the DC motor. It estimate the speed of the rotor using the differentiation. It is proposed speed sensorless control method using the estimated speed. Optimal gain of Luenberger observer is set up using the fuzzy observer and adapted speed control of DC servo motor low speed operation. It is proved excellence and feasibility of the presented observer from the comparison tested a case with a speed sensor and a case without a speed sensor which used a highly efficient drive and 200W DC servo motor starting system.

  • In order to improve the speed of railway, several parameters and/or technical issues, which are affecting speed improvement negatively, need to be considered in addition to the enhancement of physical performance of the railway system such as maximum speed, speed at curve, and speed at turnout track. The parameters under complicated situation of railway system are from the areas of rolling stocks, track, power system, signalling, etc. In general, two different aspects of technical issues can be evaluated; Technical issues in the hardware aspect and technical issues in the software aspect. The hardware parameters include running performance, braking performance, and power performance, while the software factors are rules, regulations, and riding quality. In this investigation, a comparison study between hardware and software aspects in technical issues was conducted to provide technical information on the amendment of railway speed-up regulations.

  • Recently, in order to achieve high flexibilty, monitoring and control strategies of a new type have been developed. This paper investigates the fesability of using scoustic emission signal analysis for the detection of built-up edge during machining. Results for maching SM45C steel show that the presence of a built-up edge can significantil affect the generation of acoustic emission in metal cutting. When the cutting speed comes to the conditions conducive to development of built-up edge, it is shown that the slope of curve-fitted AErms signal undergoes a change. The fesability of utilizing AErms in built-up edge sensing is sugested.

탈접착 후처치시 핸드피스(handpiece) 속도가 치아에 미치는 영향에 대한 비교 연구 (A comparison study of the effects of handpiece speed on teeth in debonding procedure)

  • 본 연구는 탈접착 후처치시 사용된 핸드피스(handpiece)속도에 따른 처치 효율성과 환자 불편감 정도를 알아보기 위하여 시행되었다. 발거된 소구치(50개)에 브라켓을 접착하고 제거한 후 tungsten carbide bur를 장착한 저속 핸드피스와 ultra-fine diamond finishing bur를 장착한 고속 핸드피스로 각각 25개씩 탈접착 후처치를 시행했으며, 이때 각 실험군내 치아의 진동정도와 치수강내 온도 변화를 측정하였다. 이후 각 실험군(저속, 고속 핸드피스군)에서 임으로 10개씩의 치아를 선택하여 주사전자현미경으로 법랑질 표면에 대한 평가를 시행하여, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 저속 핸드피스를 사용한 레진 제거시 다양한 진폭의 치아 진동이 고속 핸드피스를 이용한 경우보다 많이 나타났다. 2. 고속 핸드피스를 이용한 경우의 치수강내 온도변화가 저속 핸드피스를 사용한 경우보다 유의성 있게 높았으며, 레진 제거 시간 역시 두 배정도 길게 걸렸다. 3. 레진 제거 후 법랑질 표면에 대한 주사전자현미경상은 고속 핸드피스를 사용한 경우에서 절흔들(notches)과 잔여레진들이 저속 핸드피스를 사용한 경우보다 많은 것을 보여주었다.

다중해상도 알고리즘을 이용한 고속 움직임 정합 (High Speed Motion Match Utilizing A Multi-Resolution Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중해상도 알고리즘을 제안하여 탐색점과 복잡도를 블록정합 알고리즘과 비교하여 나타내었다. 또한 스피드 업을블록정합 알고리즘과 비교 하였다. 제안한 다중해상도 NTSS-3 Level 알고리즘을 비교대상인 TSS-3 Level 알고리즘과 NTSS 알고리즘에 비교하였다. 비교 결과 탐색점과 스피드업에서 제안한 NTSS-3 Level 알고리즘이 우수함을 나타내었다. 따라서 제안한 NTSS-3 Level 알고리즘이 비교 대상인 블록정합 알고리즘에 비해 탐색점에서 $2{\sim}3$배 우수한 성능을 나타내었고 복잡도 계산에서도 $2{\sim}4$배의 우수함을 나타내었다. 스피트업에서도 제안한 NTSS-3 Level 알고리즘이 2배 이상의 성능을 나타내었다. 따라서 제안한 다중해상도 NTSS-3 Level 알고리즘이 탐색점과 스피드 업 대비 PSNR 우수함을 나타내었다.

Wind tunnel modeling of flow over mountainous valley terrain

  • Wind tunnel experiments were conducted to investigate the wind characteristics in the mountainous valley terrain with 4 simplified valley models and a 1:500 scale model of an existing valley terrain in the simulated atmospheric neutral boundary layer model. Measurements were focused on the mean wind flow and longitudinal turbulence intensity. The relationship between hillside slopes and the velocity speed-up effect were studied. By comparing the preliminary results obtained from the simplified valley model tests and the existing terrain model test, some fundamental information was obtained. The measured results indicate that it is inappropriate to describe the mean wind velocity profiles by a power law using the same roughness exponent along the span wise direction in the mountainous valley terrain. The speed-up effect and the significant change in wind direction of the mean flow were observed, which provide the information necessary for determining the design wind speed such as for a long-span bridge across the valley. The longitudinal turbulence intensity near the ground level is reduced due to the speed-up effect of the valley terrain. However, the local topographic features of a more complicated valley terrain may cause significant perturbation to the general wind field characteristics in the valley.
