Robust Control of Induction motor using Fuzzy Sliding Adaptive Controller with Sliding Mode Torque Observer

  • In this paper a robust speed controller for an induction motor is proposed. The speed controller consists or a fuzzy sliding adaptive controller(FSAC) and a sliding mode torque observer(SMTO). FSAC removes the problem or oscillations caused by discontinuous inputs of the sliding mode controller. The controller also provides robust characteristics against parameter and sampling time variations. Although, however, the performance of FSAC is better than PI controller and fuzzy controller in robustness, it generates the problem of slow response time. To alleviate this problem, a compensator, which performs feedforward control using torque signals produced by SMTO, is added. The simulation and hardware implementation results show that the proposed system is robust to the load disturbance, parameter variations, and measurement noises.

고정밀 고속 윤곽가공을 위한 3축 연동제어기 (3-Axis Coupling Controller for High-Precision/High-Speed Contour Machining)

  • This paper proposes a three-axis coupling controller designed to improve the contouring accuracy in machining of 3D nonlinear contours. The proposed coupling controller is based on an innovative 3D contour error model and a PID control law. The novel contour error model provides almost exact calculation of contour errors in real-time for arbitrary contours and can be integrated with any type of existing interpolator. In the proposed method, three axes of motion are coordinated by the proposed coupling controller along with a proportional controller for each axis. The proposed contour error model and coupling controller are evaluated through computer simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed 3-axis coupling controller with the new contour error model substantially can improve the contouring accuracy by order of magnitude compared with the existing uncoupled controllers in high-speed machining of nonlinear contours.

  • The Induction motor Vector Control with PI controller has been widely used in industrial application. But PI control difficult in dealing with dynamic speed control, parameter variations, and load disturbances. Therefore, in this paper propose speed control of a induction motor using the PI controller with fuzzy controller. The proposed fuzzy PI controller increases the control performance of the PI controller. Simulation results show that fuzzy PI controller has a good robustness regarding the improper tuned PI controller.

  • In this paper, a hybrid controller that consists of a conventional PD controller and a neural network controller which adapts to various control conditions by online learning is used and a new learning algorithm of the neural networks is used to prevent weights of neural network from diverging. A conventional PI controller and the hybrid controller is applied to speed control of 3 phase induction motor. So in comparison with a PD controller, we prove superiority of hybrid controller by experiments.

  • 본 논문은 IPMSM 드라이브의 고성능 속도 제어를 위하여 퍼지제어와 신경회로망을 혼합 구성한 적응 FNN 제어기를 제시한다. 적응 FNN 제어기는 기준 모델에 기초한 적응 메카니즘을 적용하여 신경회로망의 고도의 적응제어와 퍼지제어기의 강인성 제어의 장점들을 접목한다. 적응 FNN 제어기의 출력은 FNN 제어기의 출력과 적응 퍼지제어의 출력을 합하여 출력을 얻는다. 적응 FNN 제어기는 다양한 동작조건에서 응답특성을 분석하고 평가한다. 제시한 적응 FNN 제어기의 타당성은 IPMSM 드라이브 시스템에 적용하여 성능 결과로 입증한다.

  • Voltage dips caused by transmission system faults are usually of a short duration. High speed relaying and breaker operation will typically limit the disturbance to 0.1 seconds. Most motor controllers obtain their control power directly from the bus by means of a control transformer. Under this condition, a voltage dip can cause the contactor to drop out. disconnecting the motor from the line. The rapid re-energizing of the controller is in effect a fast reclosure which may result in motor damage. The time delay re-energizing of controller will result in a greater loss of speed and possibly loss of stability. Other means of controller can be used to prevent the motor from being disconnected from line during the fault. This can be accomplished by DC power controller or mechanically latched controller. This paper demonstrates that DC power controller or mechanically latched type controller to prevent the motor from being disconnected from line during the fault is, the most effective in minimizing speed reduction, transient motor current, transient motor torque and transient shaft torque by EMTP calculation.

  • The windup phenomenon appears and results in the performance degradation when the PI controller output is saturated. A new anti-windup PI controller is proposed to improve the control performance of the variable-speed motor drives and it is experimentally applied to the speed control of a vector-controlled induction motor driven by a pulse width modulated(PWM) voltage source inverter (VSI). The integral state is separately controlled corresponding to whether the PI controller output is saturated or not. The experimental results show that the speed response has the much improved performances such as small overshoot and fast settling time over the conventional anti-windup technique. Although the operating speed command is changed, the similar control performance can be obtained by using the PI gains selected in the linear region.

  • The windup phenomenon appears and degrades control performance when a controller with integrating action is used and the plant input is limited. An anti-windup integral -proportional(IP) controller is proposed for the variable-speed motor drives and it is experimentally applied to the speed control of a vector-controlled induction motor driven by a pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source inverter(VSI). Although the operating conditions like motor load and speed command is changed under the limited plant input it is experimentally verified that the speed response has much improved performance such as no overshoot and fast settling time and the maximum plant input is also effectively utilized.

  • The conventional PID controller has been extensively used to speed control of marine diesel engines. However one of drawbacks is that its control performance can be degraded if the parameters are fixed on whole operating points. In this paper a scheme for integrating PID control and the fuzzy technique is presented to control speed of a marine diesel engine on whole operating points. At first the PID controller is designed at each speed mode whose parameters are optimally adjusted using a genetic algorithm, Then fuzzy "if-then" rules combine the controllers as a consequence part. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy controller a set of simulation works on a marine diesel engine are carried out.rried out.
