In electric railway, image monitoring using high speed camera provides reliable, timely information of wear and geometry status, important in taking decisions for overhead contact wire maintenance. The contribution of this research is the development of a simple real-time monitoring system for use in measurement subsystem of contact wire and geometry of overhead contact wire in electric railway. The system has been consists of a high speed CMOS camera with resolution $1024{\times}1280$ pixels, line type laser source and PC-based image acquisition system with PCI Express slot. Vision acquisition software have been used in application programming interface for image acquisition, display, and storage with a frequency of sampling of 500 acquisitions per second.
Autonomous vehicles should recognize and respond to the specified speed to drive in compliance with regulations. To recognize the specified speed, the most representative method is to read the numbers of the signs by recognizing the speed signs in the front camera image. This study proposes a method that utilizes YOLO-Labeling-Labeling-EfficientNet. The sign box is first recognized with YOLO, and the numeric digit is extracted according to the pixel value from the recognized box through two labeling stages. After that, the number of each digit is recognized using EfficientNet (CNN) learned with the virtual environment dataset produced directly. In addition, we estimated the depth of information from the height value of the recognized sign through regression analysis. We verified the proposed algorithm using the virtual racing environment and GTSRB, and proved its real-time performance and efficient recognition performance.

The dynamic model of a high-speed vacuum circuit breaker mechanism with spring-actuated cam and linkage is derived to simulate the high-speed closing and opening operations. Its validation for an analysis of high-speed motion behavior is checked through experiments. The characteristics of the friction on the camshaft are investigated using the nonlinear pendulum experiment. The parameters of the friction model are estimated using the optimization technique. The analysis exhibits that the friction of the pendulum depends on stick-slip, Stribeck effect and viscous damping. Comparing simulation results with actual responses using a high-speed camera, the appropriateness of derived dynamic models for the rapid closing and opening operations is shown. The spring motion, which has much influence on the closing responses, is observed.
Compact Camera Module(CCM) is widely used in PDA, Celluar phone and PC web camera. With the greatly increasing use for mobile applications, there has been a considerable demands for high speed production of CCM. The major burden of production of CCM is assembly of lens module onto CCD or CMOS packaged circuit board. After module is assembled, the CCM is inspected. In this paper, we developed the image capture board for CCM and the imaging processing algorithm to inspect the defects in captured image of assembled CCMs. The performances of the developed inspection system and its algorithm are tested on samples of 10000 CCMs. Experimental results reveal that the proposed system can focus the lens of CCM within 5s and we can recognize various types of defect of CCM modules with good accuracy and high speed.
Theoretical analysis of the depth measurement system with the use of a single camera and a rotating mirror has hem done. A camera in front of a rotating mirror acquires a sequence of reflected images, from which depth information is extracted. For an object pint at a longer distance, the corresponding pixel in the sequence of images moves at a higher speed. In this paper, the principle d the depth measurement-based on the relation of the pixel movement speed and the depth of objects have been investigated. Also, necessary mathematics to implement the technique is derived and presented. The factors affecting the measurement precision have been studied Analysis shows that the measurement m increases with the increase of depth. The rotational angle of the mirror between two image-takings also affects the measurement precision. Experimental results using the real camera-mirror setup are reported.

In this paper, we report experimental investigations on measurement of adiabatic wall temperature on a flat 2-D plate of high-speed impinging jet made by circular-shape nozzle at steady state condition using infra-red camera. Experiments have been conducted for the Reynolds number of 187,000 according to the change of nozzle-to-plate distance. Dimensionless number, recovery factor, has been used to represent the measured adiabatic wall temperature. And we compared the result obtained by using infra-red camera with that obtained by using thermocouple.

In this paper, we developed a network camera for CMOS camera module inspection. The design, implementation details including embedded linux porting and CPLD logics, and performance of network camera are described. The network camera consists of SoC(S3C4530A), CPLD and CMOS image sensor. In order to image data of CMOS image sensor we designed capture logics on CPLD by using VHDL program. Embedded Linux such as uClinux is performed on the network camera to utilize development environment and TCP/IP protocol specification. The application is based on socket communication between GUI on PC and Embedded Linux based network camera. When JPEG compression is applied, the transmission speed was improved enough for this system to be used for an alternative of expensive CCTV or remote monitoring system in a power plant and uninhabited places.

A novel nondestructive testing (NDT) system, which is able to detect a crack with high speed and high spatial resolution, is urgently required for inspecting small cracks on express train wheels. This paper proposes a high speed scan type magnetic camera, which uses the multiple amplifying circuits and the crack indicating pulse output system. The linearly integrated Hall sensors are arrayed in parallel, and the Hall voltages from each sensor in the scanning direction are obtained and amplified. High-speed NDT can be achieved by using the exclusive analog-digital converter and micro-processor because the ${\partial}\;V_H/\;{\partial}$ x value, which provides the most important crack information, can be obtained by buffering and calculating. The effectiveness of the novel method was verified by examine using cracks on the wheel specimen model.

An underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) has been implemented. It can inspect foreign substances through a CCD camera while the ROV is running in water. The maximum thrust of the ROV's running thruster is 139.3 N, allowing the ROV to move forward and backward at a running speed of 1.03 m/s underwater. The structural strength of the guard frame was analyzed when the ROV collided with a wall while traveling at a speed of 1.03 m/s underwater, and found to be safe. The maximum running speed of the ROV is 1.08 m/s and the working speed is 0.2 m/s in a 5.8-m deep-water wave pool, which satisfies the target performance. As the ROV traveled underwater at a speed of 0.2 m/s, the inspection camera was able to read characters that were 3 mm in width at a depth of 1.5 m, which meant it could sufficiently identify foreign objects in the water.
