  • Endophytes ascertain a symbiotic relationship with plants as promoters of growth, defense mechanism etc. This study is a first report to screen the endophytic population in Waltheria indica, a tropical medicinal plant. 5 bacterial and 3 fungal strains in leaves, 3 bacterial and 1 yeast species in stems were differentiated morphologically and identified by biochemical and molecular methods. The phylogenetic tree of the isolated endophytes was constructed using MEGA X. Silver nanoparticles were biosynthesized from a rare endophytic bacterium Cupriavidus metallidurans isolated from the leaf of W. indica. The formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed by UV-Visible spectrophotometer that evidenced a strong absorption band at 408.5 nm of UV-Visible range with crystalline nature and average particle size of 16.4 nm by Particle size analyzer. The Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectrum displayed the presence of various functional groups that stabilized the nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction peaks were conferred to face centered cubic structure. Transmission Electron Microscope and Scanning Electron Microscope revealed the spherical-shaped, polycrystalline nature with the presence of elemental silver analyzed by Energy Dispersive of X-Ray spectrum. Selected area electron diffraction also confirmed the orientation of AgNPs at 111, 200, 220, 311 planes similar to X-ray diffraction analysis. The synthesized nanoparticles are evaluated for antimicrobial activity against 7 bacterial and 3 fungal pathogens. A good zone of inhibition was observed against pathogenic bacteria than fungal pathogens. Thus the study could hold a key aspect in drug discovery research and other pharmacological conducts of human clinical conditions.

  • In this paper, the phenomenon to show in CDMA handset in case of which CDMA handset do not meet Traffic Rho value of IS-98B specifications, which have minimum requirements of CDMA handset about electrical performance is analyzed. This paper proposed method to improve Traffic Rho through improving the matching circuit of TX IF SAW FILTER and deleting noise of LDO(Low Dropout Regulator) to generate 3.OV_TX in TX block. HP8924C(CDMA Mobile Station Tester Set) and HP8595E(Spectrum Analyzer) measures the improved CDMA waveform.

  • A simple optical signal to noise ratio monitoring method using fiber Bragg grating is proposed for monitoring performance of OADM. OSNR of each channel is determined by monitoring the optical power transmitted and reflected from fiber Bragg gratings, simultaneously. We have obtained OSNR with accuracy better than 0.8㏈ compared with OSA of 0.1nm optical resolution in the wide input power range between -6 ㏈m and -23㏈m per channel.

  • Cable leakage criterion of technical regulations on CATV transmission system was reinforced considering interference against CDMA mobile communication system in 2007. The criterion is $3{\mu}V$/m(at 10m) over 824~849MHz. But generally it is difficult for us to decide if a given CATV transmission facilities conform to it or not through simple measurement methods. In this paper, the problems on measuring cable leakage is identified theoretically and the measuring model with spectrum analyzer, LNA, and antenna is proposed to settle the problems. Also, the model is proved to be useful by practically measuring outdoors and analysing the results and the process to decide to fit to the criterion or not is established.

  • Effects of cavity material on the Q-factor measurement of microwave dielectric materials were studied by HFSS simulation and the measurements using metal cavity. $TE_{01\delta}$ mode resonant frequency was determined from the electric and magnetic field patterns and the loaded Q-factor was calculated from 3dB bandwidth of $S_{21}$ spectrum. When the cavity metal materials were Cu, SUS and Au cavity, the level of Q-factor was similar. However, Q-factor was significantly decreased when the cavity metal material was CuO. The Q-factor measurements of dielectric resonator by network analyzer using various metal cavity exhibits consistent behavior.

  • We present a 12.5-GHz interleaved bidirectional ultra-dense wavelength-division-multiplexing transmission over a conventional single mode fiber of 80 km achieving spectral efficiency as high as 0.8-bit/s/Hz. The beat-frequency-locking method is used to stabilize the channel frequency within $\pm$200 MHz error. To facilitate the identification of multiple beat frequency signals, we use a radio-frequency spectrum analyzer. The bidirectional transmission penalty is about 0.3 dB compared with the unidirectional transmission over the same fiber.

  • Unlike the hydraulic power steering (HPS) system, which operates by the high pressure of a fluid obtained from the engine power, the motor-driven power steering (MDPS) system uses an electric motor to steer the wheel without consuming engine power. To steer the wheel with an electric motor, a worm wheel and a worm gear rotating between the steering shaft and motor are required. Any imperfection during the construction of an MDPS system or in a composing part creates noise and vibration, which can be sensed by a driver. To solve the noise and vibration problems, each part must be designed to not resonate with other parts. In this work, we developed the measurement and analysis systems to obtain the noise and the vibration of an automobile MDPS system. A signal analyzer was equipped with a 96 kHz, 24-bit ADC and a 150 MHz digital signal processor. The predetermined threshold value of the vibration in the MDPS system was used to determine the pass/fail, and the results were displayed on the screen. Our system can be used in the fabrication line to swiftly determine any imperfections in the MDPS system construction.

  • From the IF (Intermediated Frequency) loop-back test, BER (Bit Error Rate) degradation of processed data, HRIT (High Rate Information Transmission), is estimated by proposed measurement configuration. The specific parameters, likely data rate, FEC (Forward Error Correction), and modulation method, are based on the outcomes of SRR (System Requirements Review) which was held on 13-14 June 2005, in Toulouse. The proposed measurement procedure is that combined 70MHz modulated signal and noise is connected to the spectrum analyzer and receiver. The former measures the C/No (Carrier to Noise density ratio) and the latter estimates BER of FEC decoded data. Implementation loss can be obtained by subtracting measured BER from calculated BER which is also subtracted data rate from measured C/No. This test procedure is very simple and can be applied to assess the implementation loss of dedicated receiver for HRIT in the future.

  • In this study we carried out to evaluate the salinity concentration and volumetric water content of unsaturated soil column using frequency domain Reflectometry with vector network analyzer (FDR-V) measurement system. All of experiments were considered to the effect of temperature which ranges from l0$^{\circ}C$ to 50$^{\circ}C$ increasing the interval of l0$^{\circ}C$ controlled by the constant temperature container. From the results the responses of complex dielectric constant which consist of the real part and imaginary parts have the effect of volumetric water content and concentration of salinity at 1GHz. Use of derived equations (1) and (2) can be calculated the physical parameters such as volumetric water content and salinity concentration of unsaturated media by the responses of complex dielectric constant.

  • This paper simulated partial discharge caused by 22.9[kV] power cable using XLPE(Peroxide Crosslinkable Polyethylene) insulation having the outside damage. As one of the insulation diagnostic method a radiated electromagnetic waves were measured by an UHF method using a BiconiLog antenna(EMCO-3142) and a spectrum analyzer used to measure EMI, EMC. From results of this study, It was confirmed that discharge Ogress were possible to be estimated by the proposed method.
