스펙트럼 특성행렬을 이용한 효율적인 반사 스펙트럼 복원 방법 (Efficient Method for Recovering Spectral Reflectance Using Spectrum Characteristic Matrix)

  • Measuring spectral reflectance can be regarded as obtaining inherent color parameters, and spectral reflectance has been used in image processing. Model-based spectrum recovering, one of the method for obtaining spectral reflectance, uses ordinary camera with multiple illuminations. Conventional model-based methods allow to recover spectral reflectance efficiently by using only a few parameters, however it requires some parameters such as power spectrum of illuminations and spectrum sensitivity of camera. In this paper, we propose an enhanced model-based spectrum recovering method without pre-measured parameters: power spectrum of illuminations and spectrum sensitivity of camera. Instead of measuring each parameters, spectral reflectance can be efficiently recovered by estimating and using the spectrum characteristic matrix which contains spectrum parameters: basis function, power spectrum of illumination, and spectrum sensitivity of camera. The spectrum characteristic matrix can be easily estimated using captured images from scenes with color checker under multiple illuminations. Additionally, we suggest fast recovering method preserving positive constraint of spectrum by nonnegative basis function of spectral reflectance. Results of our method showed accurately reconstructed spectral reflectance and fast constrained estimation with unmeasured camera and illumination. As our method could be conducted conveniently, measuring spectral reflectance is expected to be widely used.

  • One-dimensional diffusion processes are characterized by Feller's data of canonical scales and speed measures and, if we apply the theory of spectral functions of strings developed by M. G. Krein, Feller's data are determined by paris of spectral characteristic functions so that theses pairs may be considered as invariants of diffusions under the homeomorphic change of state spaces. We show by examples how these invariants are useful in the study of one-dimensional diffusion processes.

  • 본 논문에서는 단위음소들의 연결을 통한 음성합성 방법에 관하여 기술한다. 이때, 발생하는 가장 큰 문제점은 두 단위음소 사이의 연결부분에서 불연속이 발생하는 것이며, 특히 다른 화자로부터 녹음한 단위음소의 연결에서 불연속이 많이 발생한다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 군집화된 다이폰을 이용하며, 포만트 궤적과 스펙트럼의 분포특성을 사용할 뿐 아니라 인간의 청각적인 특성을 반영하여 스펙트럼을 완만화하는 방법을 제안한다. 즉, 제안하는 방법은 단위음소 연결구간의 스펙트럼 분포특성의 유사도를 사용하여 단위음소들을 군집화하고 단위음소의 연결 구간에서 인간의 청각신경 특성을 고려하여 완만화의 양과 범위를 결정한 다음, 두 다이폰 경계의 스펙트럼 분포를 시간에 따라 가중치를 다르게 주어 스펙트럼 완만화를 수행한다. 이 방법은 불연속을 제거하며 완만화로 인하여 발생할 수 있는 음성의 왜곡을 최소화한다. 제안하는 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 5명으로부터 녹음한 20개의 문장 중에서 추출한 500여 개의 다이폰을 사용하여 실험을 수행하였다.

Spectral density functions of wind pressures on various low building roof geometries

  • This paper describes in detail the features of an extensive study on Spectral Density Functions (SDF's) of wind pressures acting on several low building roof geometries carried out in a boundary layer wind tunnel. Various spectral characteristics of wind pressures on roofs with emphasis on derivation of suitable analytical representation of spectra and determination of characteristic spectral shapes are shown. Standard spectral shapes associated with various zones of each roof and their parameters are provided. The established spectral parameters can be used to generate synthetic spectra adequate for the simulation of wind pressure fluctuations on building surfaces in a generic fashion.

  • In recent years, the hyperspectral instruments with high spatial and high spectral resolution have become an important component of wide variety of earth science applications. The primary mission of the proposed Compact Airborne Imaging Spectrometer System (CAISS) in this study is to acquire and provide full contiguous spectral information with high quality spectral and spatial resolution for advanced applications in the field of remote sensing. The CAISS will also be used as the vicarious calibration equipment for the cross-calibration of satellite image data. The CAISS consists of six physical units: the camera system, the Jig, the GPS/INS, the gyro-stabilized mount, the operating system, and the power inverter and distributor. Additionally, the calibration instruments such as the integrated sphere and spectral lamps are also prepared for the radiometric and spectral calibration of the CAISS. The CAISS will provide high quality calibrated image data that can support evaluation of satellite application products. This paper summarizes the design, development and major characteristic of the CAISS.

A SIMPLE GRANULE MODEL AND ITS EFFECT ON SPECTRAL LINE ASYMMETRY

  • The accumulated knowledge of the influence of solar granulation on spectral lines, i.e. their asymmetry, provides a key to analyze stellar spectral line asymmetries. In this paper, a simple line synthesis using a simple 'model' of granulation was calculated. By adjusting the properties of the granule model, the observed imprints of convection on spectral lines can be reproduced. Since we depict convective flows using a continuous function rather than using a few components of flows (cf. Gray and Toner 1985, 1986; dravins 1990), we were able to identify which components of convection are important in line bisector shapes. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: Firstly, the intensity contrast (i.e. temperature fluctuation), and the area coverage of up- and down-flows are the two important factors which determine the line bisector shapes. Secondly, on the contrary to the assumption of other studies, the effect of horizontal flows is non-negligible. This exercise provides a qualitative understanding of the effect of convection on spectral lines. This knowledge serves as a guideline for understanding the characteristic difference in convection for stars on either side of the 'Granulation Boundary' (Gray 1982; Gray and Nagel 1989).

위성영상과 GIS를 이용한 북한 서한만 지역의 간석지 분광특성 및 변화 탐지 (Analyzing the spectral characteristic and detecting the change of tidal flat area in Seo han Bay, North Korea using satellite images and GIS)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 위성영상자료(ASTER, KOMPSAT EOC, Landsat TM/ETM+)와 GIS 공간분석을 이용하여 비 접근 지역인 북한 서한만 일대의 간석지를 추출하였다. 특히 위성영상의 분광특성 분석을 통하여 미지형(micro-landform)을 분류하고 경년에 따른 간석지 면적의 변화를 비교 분석 하였다. 이를 위하여 우선 Landsat TM/ETM+의 multi 밴드를 이용하여 한반도에 분포하고 있는 8개의 간석지(서한만, 광량만, 해주만, 강화만, 아산만, 가로림만, 줄포만, 순천만)를 대상으로 분광특성을 분석하고 그 결과를 기반으로 ISODATA clustering 방법을 이용하여 북한 서한만 지역의 미지형 간석지의 미지형 특성을 추출하였다. 또한 경년에 따른 간석지 면적 변화를 알아보기 위하여 고지형도(1918-1920)를 디지털 자료로 변환하여 북한 서해안 전역의 간석지 GIS DB를 구축하였으며 최근의 시기별 다양한 위성영상 자료를 활용하여 작성된 간석지 분포도와 비교분석함으로서 비 접근 지역의 북한 서한만 일대 간석지 면적의 변화를 탐지 하였다. 아울러 간석지 미지형 분류와 경계구분에 효과적인 밴드를 제시하였으며 또한 위성영상자료 활용에 있어서 단일밴드인 우리나라 KOMPSAT EOC영상을 이용한 간석지 추출방법으로 high frequency pass filter method 통한 효율적인 간석지 분류 기법을 제시하였다.

차량 잡음 환경에서 엔트로피 기반의 음성 구간 검출 (Voice Activity Detection Based on Entropy in Noisy Car Environment)

  • 정확한 음성 구간 검출은 음성 인식 및 음성 코딩 그리고 음성 통신 시스템 등과 같은 음성 어플리케이션의 성능에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 실제 운전하고 있는 상태에서 다양한 차량 노이즈 환경의 음성 구간 검출 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 음성 구간 검출은 시간 에너지, 주파수 에너지, 영 교차율, spectral entropy 등 다양한 방법을 사용하였으며 잡음 환경에서 급격하게 성능이 저하되는 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 spectral entropy를 기반으로 하여 MFB(Mel-frequency Filter Banks) spectral entropy, 기울기 FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) spectral entropy, 기울기 MFB spectral entropy를 이용한 음성 구간 검출 방법을 제안한다. MFB는 멜 스케일과 FFT를 곱한 것으로 멜 스케일은 인간이 소리를 인지할 때 주파수에 대해 비선형적인 스케일이며 음성의 특징을 잘 반영한다. 제안한 MFB spectral entropy 방법은 다양한 차량 잡음 환경에서 음성 및 비음성 분별 능력을 향상시킬 수 있으며 실험 결과 93.21%의 음성 구간 검출율을 나타내었다. 이는 기존의 spectral entropy 방법과 비교할 때 MFB를 이용한 음성 구간 검출 방법이 3.2%의 검출율이 향상되었다.

  • The narrowband speech over the telephone network is lacking in the information from low-band (0-300 Hz) and high-band (3400-8000 Hz) that are found in wideband speech (0-8000 Hz). As a result, narrowband speech is characterized by the reduced intelligibility and muffled quality, and degraded speaker identification. Spectral folding is the easiest way to reconstruct the missing high-band; however, the reconstructed speech still brings the sense of band-limited characteristic because of the absence of low-band and mid-band frequency components. To compensate for the lack of the extended speech, we propose to combine the spectral folding method and GMM transformation method, which is a statistical method to reconstruct wideband speech. The reconstructed wideband speech showed that the absent frequency components was filled up with relatively low spectral mismatch. According to the subjective speech quality evaluations, the proposed method was preferred to other methods.

  • Integrating spheres play a central role in the radiometric calibration of remote sensors. With the development of the wide field of view (FOV) remote sensors, aperture diameters of remote sensors are becoming larger and larger. To satisfy the radiometric calibration requirements of full FOV and full aperture, an 8000mm diameter large aperture integrating sphere uniform source with a variable exit port was designed and manufactured. This integrating sphere will be used for pre-launch test and radiometric calibration of remote satellites. In this paper, optical theories were used to design the output spectral radiance. The LightTools software based on ray-tracing simulation method was used to determine the best combination and distribution of inner light sources. A spectral experiment was made to verify the spectral radiance design. To reduce the influence of longtime power-on, a new characteristic measurement method was developed to obtain the radiation characteristic of the integrating sphere, which could greatly improve the measuring efficiency. This method could also be applied to measure other large aperture uniform sources. The obtained results indicate that the spatial uniformity is 98.35%, and the angular uniformity at center position is 98.78%.
