  • This paper presents a method of grinding and polishing automation of precision die after CNC machining. The method employs a robot system equipped with a pneumatic spindle and a special abrasive film pad. The robote program is automatically generated off-line from a PC and downloaded to robot controller. Position and orientation data for the program is supplied from cutter contact (CC) data of NC machining process. This eliminates separate robot teaching process. This paper aims at practical automation of die finishing process which is very time consuming and suffering from shortage of workpeople. Time loss for changeover from one product to next is eliminated by off-line programming exploiting appropriate NC machining data. Dextrous 6-axis robot with rigid wrist and simple tooling enables the process applicable to larger, rather complex 3 dimensional free surfaces

  • On last year's KSR conference, the general of systems engineering technology was introduced on the focus that the SEMP(Systems Engineering Management Plan) being applied for a national project of 'Urban Maglev Program'. Since this SEMP covers very wide work scopes of 'plan, application, control of the program', 'design, analysis, test & evaluation of the system', and 'special engineering activities', it is very important that the tasks and responsibilities of all participants of the project, involving the tasks to collaborate between them, are clearly defined and described. By the point, the updating of SEMP should be done continuously. In this paper, the updating points and typically the management plan of TPM (Technical Performance Measurement), which is more concretely defined, will be explained.

  • Good stability and complete range of motion should be the ultimate goal of a rehabilitation program after ACL reconstruction. In previous years. the rehabilitation of the ACL reconstructed knee focused on protecting the new ligament by blocking terminal knee extension, hut, despite good stability, this approach led to numerous postoperative complications. Nowadays, most of surgeons agree the accelerated rehabilitation program based on the concept of ligamentization and clinical experience. Accelerated rehabilitation program consists of maintain of full extension of the knee, early weight bearing and prompt recovery of ROM, and closed kinetic chain exercise. Meeting this goal requires effective communication between-members of the health care team-the physician, physical therapist, atheletic trainer, and the patient. We have to know the importance of rehabilitation, knowlege about the physical therapy, and to introduce for special physical therapist and equipment.

  • Plate girder bridges for tile Korean high-speed railway are optimally designed. Static and dynamic constraints are all considered. The design variables are the thicknesses and the lengths of the plates that are used to form I-shaped main girders with variable cross-sections. And the objective function is tile steel weight of a main girder. A C++ based design program is developed; this program interfaces with a FORTRAN based optimization program ADS. From the results of optimal design for various span lengths, it is observed that the deck vertical acceleration is one of the most important constraints in a special range of tile span length. Front a parametric study, sensitivity of the optimal design to static as well as dynamic constraints are presented.

  • The objective of this paper is to examine a construction method and verify PLC logic using the logical modeling and simulation of a virtual plant has complex manufacturing system and the domain of application is car body assembly line of automotive industrial operated by PLC Program. The proposed virtual plant model for the analysis of the construction method consists of three types of components which are virtual device, intermediary transfer and controller is modeled by logical model but it the case of the verification of PLC program, HMI and PLC logic in the field substitute for the controller. The implementation of the proposed virtual plant model is conducted PLC Studio which is an object-oriented modeling language based on logical model. As a result, proposed methods enable 3D graphics is designed in the analysis step to use for verification of PLC program without special efforts.

  • In this study, the effect of gamified disability awareness program was researched to examine its potential to be used as a disability awareness curriculum particular to Korean schools. The gamified program consisted of lessons related to disability skiing such as learning about Paralympic skier, experiencing mono skis, and participating in cooperative games. To examine its effectiveness, Multidimensional Attitudes Scale towards persons with disabilities (MAS) was used. Results indicate that the attitude of the experiment group showed significant change.

  • The purposes of this study were to : a) examine the current foodservice management practices of twenty-one seniors centers in charge of hoke-delivered meal programs, b) evaluate the attitudes of one hundred and ten recipients of meal service program, and c) provide feedback for the efficient and effective foodservice management for the elderly. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS package program for descriptive analysis, T-test, and ANOVA. The results of quantitative analysis indicated that the costs of meals, containers and special foods were mostly dependent on the support from local government(Seoul city). The centers where the volunteers were over seventy five p ercent of the workers were frtty-eight percent and sixty-seven percent of the subjects in food preparation and food delivery to the homebound clients, respectively. Meal preparation and food purchasing were mainly practiced by social welfare worker. Standardized recipes were not developed and meal preparation was controlled under the cook' and volunteers' experiences. The survey results of recipients who participated the home-delivered meals program showed that the mean of meal satisfaction score was rated over three point five in the five-point scale. There were significant differences between dependent variables(volunteer's kindness, plate waste, menu variety) and independent variables(sex, receiving periods and family type of the subjects). • Health Insurance System in Korea was introduced in 1977 and expanded health insurance benefits for all people in 1989. The development of medical service and technology takes a growing concerning for public health and medicine. And also, it helps to extend the average life span of Koreans. Therefore, the old people are steadily increased over seven percent of total population and will take more than 14% in 2023. Generally, the old people have the chronic disease such as diabetes and hypertension. Also, smoking, stress, environmental pollution and lack of exercise, leading cause of cancer, cardiovascular disease and respiratory infections have affected to state economy negatively. Therefore, health promotion law was established for a variety of health promotion process, including education, program implementation and community development. The goals and strategies for health promotion are as following: . Practice of healthy life: - Strengthen publicity activities on smoking and exercise. - Program development for nonsmoking and exercise. - Program extent for community health. Strengthen of mental health: - Planning of national survey for mental patient. - Prevention of alcoholism - Setting up special hospital for alcoholism . Constant cancer management under government - Developing medical treatment and prevention program. - Early diagnosis for the whole nation . Management of chronic disease - Strengthen of Prevention Program . Reinforcing of oral health - A national survey of oral health - Oral health education

  • South Korea has the defense burdensharing agreement with the United States in reference to the U.S. troops stationed in Korea since 1991, based on Special Measure Agreement(SMA). Due to the growth of Korea's economic power and the U.S. provision of the security environment on Korean penninsula, the U.S. government steadily demanded the rise of contributions to common defense from South Korea and South Korea accepted most of the U.S. requests without proper principles of negotiation concerning the cost sharing. This paper analyzes the systems of the Korea-U.S. cost sharing program through a systems thinking, that yields desirable results with a little effort. The three policy leverages are: 1) the development of negotiation principles; 2) the policy making closely linked with National Defense Reform Basic Plan; 3) the policy making with responsibility burdensharing than cost burdensharing. This paper findings will contribute to the developing the Korea-U.S. cost sharing program by providing policy-makers and policy-practitioners with systematic understanding and insight into the dynamics of the program. Also, this will enable the program to execute more effectively with a concrete formula.
