  • In 1973, B. Y. Chen and K. Yano introduced the special conformally flat space for the generalization of a subprojective space. The typical example is a canal hypersurface of a Euclidean space. In this paper, we study the conditions for the base space B to be special conformally flat in the conharmonically flat warped product space $B^n{\times}_fR^1$. Moreover, we study the special conformally flat warped product space $B^n{\times}_fF^p$ and characterize the geometric structure of $B^n{\times}_fF^p$.

  • This paper presents the results of experimental investigation, numerical calculation and theoretical analysis on axial compression ratio limit values for steel reinforced concrete (SRC) special shaped columns. 17 specimens were firstly intensively carried out to investigate the hysteretic behavior of SRC special shaped columns subjected to a constant axial load and cyclic reversed loads. Two theories were used to calculate the limits of axial compression ratio for all the specimens, including the balanced failure theory and superposition theory. It was found that the results of balanced failure theory by numerical integration method cannot conform the reality of test results, while the calculation results by employing the superposition theory can agree well with the test results. On the basis of superposition theory, the design limit values of axial compression ratio under different seismic grades were proposed for SRC special shaped columns.

  • The conventional simple-injection and unilateral-learning methods have the great disadvantages in special education outcomes for intellectual disabilities student. In this paper, we propose a digital micro-mirror system that learners themselves can manipulate the contents by using the various technology on user-interaction and augmented reality. Through the verification tests conducted by special education professionals, it is confirmed that the proposed commercial system can be used as a useful system in the special learning fields requiring high immersion.

  • In this paper, analytical models for reinforced concrete shear wall systems designed based on Korean Building Code (KBC2009) are proposed, which have special and semi-special seismic details and are compared with experimental results for a verification of analytical models. In addition, semi-special seismic details aimed to improve constructability and enhance economic efficiency were proposed and evaluated. The analytical models were performed based on nonlinear static and dynamic analysis. Through the nonlinear analyses, two seismic details showed the similar seismic behavior from the cyclic test and the analytical models for the two different seismic details represented the behavior in terms of the initial stiffness, maximum strength and strength degradation. And newly proposed seismic details(semi-special) provided with similar hysterestic behavior as well as the maximum drift.

  • The purpose of this paper is to be studied the Devil's types and the special effect makeup's techniques expressed on horror movies. As the theoretical background, the researcher inquired the origin of Satan, Demon and Devil, and the shapes and meanings portrayed in the religion, philosophy art and literature. Also classified the Devil's types of the movies, and examined the factors, techniques and aesthetic characteristics of special effect makeup for each of them. The results are as follows. 1. The Devil's types are the Werewolf, the Zombie and the Vampire. The Werewolf is a kind of Devil that changes into a wolf when the full moon rises. It requires animatronics, rubber body suits, furs and fangs for special makeup effects. The Zombie is a dead body that the exorcist restored with a narcotic drug, and it nibbles on human's brain and flesh. So it needs decayed or pale skins, scars, bald heads, non-focus eyes and false teeth for making this character. The Vampire is a bloodsucking ghost. Therefore, it uses fangs, evil eyes, rubber body suits and dropping blood for special effect makeup. 2. They expresses Sadism, Masquerade and Cruelty as the aesthetic characteristics of the Devil's special effect makeup.

  • This paper explores the efficacy on enforcing empowerment for the beginner special education teachers' adaptation of teaching life. Empowerment is widespread public concern regarding the role of the teacher in decision made in the operation of schools. Therefore what is discussed to be definition, a central component and strategies of empowerment based upon the through literature review. Empowerment is defined in terms of teachers power to participate in decision making about teaching and learning condition, especially is related to disabilities. And Empowerment has six components, decision making, professional growth, status, self-efficacy, autonomy, and impact. When novice teachers in special education utilize self-empowerment strategy, they have the opportunities for greater status and increasing power. Finally, empowerment is at the heart of special education teachers' adaptation of teaching life. It is suggested that follow-up studies should be conducted to develop indicator for assessing what teachers in special education perceived their empowerment in overall work. Also higher education program must address this issue in pre-service training of administrators and teachers in special education.

  • This paper dealt with the Korean manpower policy in science and technology, focusing on the contents and tools of the Special Act and its Master Plans. After briefly introducing the historical development of the Korean manpower policy from the 1960s to the present, it discussed and analyzed the Special Act and Plans from the framework of personnel development, distribution, utilization and infrastructure. Korea's science and technology manpower policy has focused on fostering and supplying manpower in line with the country's industrial growth strategy. In the early stage of industrial development during the 1960s and 1980s, government research institutes were direct and effective tools for nurturing S&T manpower. Since the 1990s, the importance of university research has increased. The government fostered graduate research manpower through the research-oriented university policy of the BK21 program. After the IMF financial crisis in 1997, the tendency of students to avoid careers in science and technology led to enacting the Special Act (2004) governing the field of S&T human resources. The Special Act has contributed to leveling up the university education system in science and engineering and sophisticated the policy to include entrepreneurship training, spin-off startups, industry-university cooperation, and offering degree programs. The Special Act and the regularly revised Master Plans have been essential tools in systematically managing the science and technology manpower policies of the Korean government.

  • It is very important to increase defence capability rapidly against any surprise attack. This can be done by fast deployment of mobilization reserved resources. This paper is forcused on optimal allocation of special reserved resources. First of all, the location of special reserved resources is identified and then the location of combat and mobilization units and amount of requirement resources of each unit are identified. Finally, optimal allocation of the special reserved resources is obtained by Out of Kilter method.

  • The present paper is devoted to studying the condition that a two-dimensional Finsler space with a special (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric be a Landsberg space. It is proved that if a Finsler space with a special (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric is a Landsberg space, then it is a Berwald space.
