A toric variety is defined by a certain collection of cones. Especially a toric Fano variety is obtained from a special nonsingular fan. In this paper, we define the f-vectors of toric Fano varieties as the numbers of faces of the corresponding fans, and investigate the f-vectors of some toric Fano varieties.

With the purpose of identifying clothing for persons with special needs one of new directions in Clothing and Textiles, this pater comparatively analyzed current curriculum and research trends related to this field between Korea and America. Questionaire was distributed to 25 Korean colleges with Clothing and Textiles department and 4 American colleges known for special clothing study. Questions regarded the name of course, level (grade), number of credit houre, prerequisits and supporting courses, subjects of lecture and projects, way of managing lecture and projects, evaluation system, other special characteristics. Resources for analyzing research trends are Thesis and Dissertations in Clothing and Textiles, Research Journal of Clothing & Textiles/Home Economics Association, College Professors' research reports collection, of both Korea and America. Years of publications are 1972∼1986 (America), 1978∼1988 (Korea). Findings are as follows; 1. Clothing for special needs can be classified into various groups; Clothing for physically handicapped, mentally retarded, elderly, unusual-sized, pregnant/nursing mothers, institutionalized, protective clothing, uniform/career apparel. 2. Management of coursework related to special clothing has several common characteristics specially in America; Building-up coursework, problem-solving orientation, cooperative team-preject, interdisciplinary approach, client-versus-designer preference, community involvement. In Korea, a few school only has special clothing coursework and its scope of study was very limited. 3. Majority of research reports done with the subjects of special clothing had made for physically handicapped people and the elderly. Protective clothing and uniform have recently been paid much interests. 4. Researchers had mainly concerned on Design and Construction Aspects and nextly on social-psychological aspects. However, in America, selection and care aspects and marketing aspects of special clothing have been very procuctive issues recently. 5. Study on clothing for special needs has several opportunities to be stressed and improvements to be strengthened. Opportunities included active participation to the welfare of community society, strong publicity of accurate professional image, share with business and industry, interdisciplinary approach and new job market. Improvements were discussed in terms of strengthening supporting courses/prerequistes, intensifying interdisciplinary cooperation, provoking strong community involvement and securing financial support and research funds.

Working with the various special functions of mathematical physics and applied mathematics we often encounter inverse relations of the type $F_n(x)=\sum\limits_{k=0}^{n}A^n_kG_k(x)$ and $ G_n(x)=\sum\limits_{k=0}^{n}B_k^nF_k(x)$, where 0, 1, 2,$\cdots$. Here $F_n(x)$, $G_n(x)$ denote special polynomial functions, and $A_k^n$, $B_k^n$ denote coefficients found by use of the orthogonal properties of $F_n(x)$ and $G_n(x)$, or by skillful series manipulations. Typically $G_n(x)=x^n$ and $F_n(x)=P_n(x)$, the n-th Legendre polynomial. We give a collection of inverse series pairs of the type $f(n)=\sum\limits_{k=0}^{n}A_k^ng(k)$ if and only if $g(n)=\sum\limits_{k=0}^{n}B_k^nf(k)$, each pair being based on some reasonably well-known special function. We also state and prove an interesting generalization of a theorem of Rainville in this form.

도서관 기준은 도서관의 사명과 목적, 이용자서비스, 운영관리 등에 대한 기본 방향을 제공하고, 도서관이 수행하는 각종 서비스와 프로그램을 측정 평가할 수 있는 준거로 활용할 수 있다. 또한 도서관이 중장기 계획을 수립하고, 목표수준을 설정할 때, 근거자료가 될 수 있다. 국내에서도 관종별 도서관 기준이나 법적인 기준을 마련하여 이의 활동을 위한 도구로 활용하고 있다. 그러나 한국도서관기준은 오랜기간 동안 개정되지 못하여 현재의 도서관 환경을 반영하기 어려우며, 법적인 기준도 그 내용이 매우 미미하여 최소한의 기준으로도 작동하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 주요국가의 전문도서관 기준과 국내의 관련 기준들을 분석하여 현재의 도서관 환경을 반영할 수 있는 직원, 장서, 시설 기준의 개정방향을 제시하였다.

This study adopted the descriptive survey research method. The population of this study comprised of the hearing impaired students in selected government secondary schools in Rivers state. The population of hearing impaired students in Rivers State is 257. A simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 159. A self-developed instrument titled "Availability and Utilization of Library Information Resources Questionnaire (AULIRQ)" was utilized for data collection. 153 responses were collated, indicating a 96.2% response rate. The data collected was arranged and analyzed using frequency count, percentages, and mean and standard deviation. Finding reveals that information resources in the libraries understudied were inadequate and under-utilized. Also, it was established that among other barriers, under-funding is a major barrier to making information resources available for the physically challenged. It was recommended that schools offering special education for the hearing impaired should pace up in their developmental gap by providing such resources and ensure adequate funding by all stakeholders.

This paper consists of two parts: the first part discusses general problems of microforms as transmission and storage media of research information, especially in view of user's reactions to this unconventional media. Many articles and surveys from major American library journals and other professional publications have been mentioned and reviewed to find out the common issues which could be relevent to Korean case. The latter part is the analysis of the two sets of surveys. One was done from 5 research libraries in Seoul and the other, from 150 researchers who were the users of the libraries. The major findings are: The research libraries in Korea are in the infant stage of building their microform research collection. They are doing their special effort to level up the weaknesss of the collection. Presently, general level of usage is very low, although the users showed a positive attitude toward this unaccustomed media. They are well convinced with necessity of use of microforms in their research and they have correct ideas about some of the problems they are going to face along with the eventual heavier use of the materials. They are psychologically ready to accept them and to make a good use out of them if some of the external conditions for proper use of the material would be guaranteed.

BACKGROUND: Gotjawal forest on Jeju Island is characterized by uneven topography that developed as a result of freezing-thawing weathering process and irregular substrates caused by numerous lava-flow collapses. Sanyang Gotjawal, located in southwest of Jeju Island, is a well-developed forest with a long history. In addition to photographs, there is a need for a good way to describe the unique features of Gotjawal, including its geology and vegetation. METHODS AND RESULTS: We illustrated the area's natural features using Clip Studio Paint 1.12.0. To reveal its complexity, we separated the vegetation and geological features in the illustrations. CONCLUSION(S): We drew a cross-section of Gotjawal's unique layers, including lava flows. In addition to an eco-geological approach, we described the dominant vegetation and geological characteristics of the three forest layers (trees, shrubs, and herbs) in Gotjawal.

이 연구의 목적은 해양과학기술 분야 연구자의 정보이용행태를 규명하기 위한 것으로, 연구자의 연령, 학력, 연구분야 등 개인적 특성에 따른 차별화된 정보서비스 수립과 전문도서관 서비스 고도화를 위한 기초자료를 확보하는데 있다. 자료수집은 2014년 1월 중 2주간 국내의 대표적인 해양연구기관 소속 연구자 348명을 대상으로 웹설문지를 배포하고 최총 115명의 데이터를 회수하였다. 분석결과, 연구자가 가장 선호하는 정보유형은 학술논문이며, 국내자료 보다 해외자료, 인쇄자료보다 전자자료를 주로 이용하고 있다. 정보입수경로는 '인터넷정보원'과 '소속 도서관 이용'이 높았고, 자료 수집 시 겪는 문제점은 '소속도서관의 전자자원 다양성 부족'과 '유료정보에 대한 이용부담'에 대한 의견이 가장 많았다. 도서관 만족도의 주요 영향요인은 '전자도서관 시스템', '도서관 직원', '도서관 소장자료' 순으로 나타났고, 이는 정보이용 만족도와 밀접한 관계가 있음을 보여준다. 마지막으로 전문도서관 정보서비스의 수요를 분석한 결과, 향후 중점적으로 실시해야하는 서비스는 '맞춤형 정보검색서비스', '프로젝트지원서비스', '연구동향분석서비스'로 나타났다.

This study is a plan for the Jeju Sanghyo Botanical Garden construction, and it is prepared to maintain the identity of the local landscape by composing the garden using the local landscape resources. The goals of becoming one of world's best, garden centered botanical garden and at the same time one that represents culture of Jeju. Unusual species are included in the collection and with the general collection, special collection and exhibition by different kinds are planned to be offered to the public. The garden will demonstrate the world's various types of gardens in a compressed way. It is our endeavor to become center of culture beyond plant education and exhibition, drawing a large number of people to our garden. Moreover, conservation of Jeju's unique botanic resources will be carried out and the garden will show the garden culture. Due to the size of the site, different themes will be exhibited in one zone in a parallel. Unique combination of each local landscape resource will create own theme. The display will be divided into three different stages: the 1st stage is an educational exhibition, assisting more understanding of distinguishing different locations, the second is exhibition by various species and the final stage will show an ideal way to develop a garden with harmony of various plant species.

The Long-Term Development Plan of the Pusan National University(PNU) has announced on 1991 in order to reach its roles and levels as an University with international standards, a Graduate School research-oriented and a core university in its community through accomplishment of this Plan. University libraries would be planned to support their universities' goals. Therefore the Library of PNU is facing on the task for supporting the Plan. The Collection for Korean Classical Materials (CKCM) is not limited in Korean Literature, Korean History, Korean Philosophy fields but covered the academic fields except a hightech science : Humanities, social science. pure science, applied science and arts etc. However, the Library of PNU does not have the organization, special librarian and budget for CKCM. Under this notion organization, budget and librarian for the collection would be followed. The CKCM contains the original editions, photography editions, copied issues. microform reproductions with comprehensive subjects in the fields of studies. Especially for the collection of treasure books the role of the Library of PNU induce to open individuals' collections or families' collections to public through the Library. The equipments for preserving rare books and treasure books are the conditioners for humidity and temperature, automatic extinguishment system. The reference materials, copy machine and reading room are requested for the user service of CKCM. The materials would be one of the most important thing in study and research. Therefore the Library of PNU need to pay attention to develop and preserve CKCM.
