금속-도재 보철용 합금의 열처리가 소성과정 중 경도 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of special heat treatment on changes in the hardness of a metal-ceramic alloy during the firing process)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a special heat treatment on Pd-Au-Ag metal-ceramic alloy after degassing treatment and on changes in the hardness of the alloy during the firing process. Methods: Specimen alloys were cast and subjected to degassing at 900℃ for 10 minutes. These specimens were then subjected to a special heat treatment at 600℃ for 15 minutes in a dental porcelain furnace. Further, the specimens were subjected to simulated firing in the porcelain furnace. The resulting specimens were then tested for hardness, and changes in the microstructure were observed. Results: There was a decrease in the hardness of the alloy during the simulated firing of the cast alloy due to the coarsening of the particles. Meanwhile, additional heat treatment after degassing was found to play a crucial role in preventing a decrease in hardness. This treatment effectively suppressed the coarsening of the precipitates during repeated firing at high temperatures. Conclusion: Specific heat treatment of the Pd-Au-Ag metal-ceramic alloy prevented a decrease in its hardness and extended the lifespan of the metal-ceramic prosthesis.

  • This paper deals with turning experiments of aluminium alloy using a single crystal diamond with round cutting edge. A face cutting was conducted using a special precision machine to study the characteristic phenomena in heavy cutting of aluminium alloy. In many cases, one of the most important matter on the surface integrity is about a damaged layer remaining just under the surface after machining. A machined surface roughness can be improved at a small geometrical surface roughness under special cutting conditions, even if a steady vibration exists between a tool and a workpiece.

원자력 터빈 블레이드용 특수강 개발 (Development of Special Steels for Turbine Blade of Nuclear Power Plant)

  • A special steels have been developed for the possible applications of turbine blade in nuclear power plant. The compositions of developed alloy were selected by the reference of imported alloy. The various properties such as tensile property, impact energy, hardness, and microstructures were investigated. All the properties of optimum heat treated materials were satisfied with the present specifications of turbine blade materials in unclear power plant. Furthermore, FATT(Fracture appearance transition temperature), high temperature tensile properties, and transformation temperatures of developed alloy also have been studied.

붕소의 첨가에 따른 텅스텐의 미세조직 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Microstructural Characteristics of Tungsten by Boron Addition)

  • 본 연구에서는 순수한 W에 B의 첨가량을 달리하여 플라즈마 아크 용해한 후, B가 용해잉고트와 재결정 후의 미세조직에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조직관찰, 결정립도 측정, 경도시험, AES 및 XRD 분석을 통하여 조사하였다. 조직관찰 및 결정립도 측정결과, B가 W의 고용한도 내의 조성으로 첨가되었을 때는 B의 첨가량에 따라 결정립이 급격히 감소하여 결정립미세화 효과를 나타내었다. 고용한도 이상의 조성으로 B가 첨가되었을 경우에는 B가 고용된 초정 W과 W-$W_2B$의 공정조직을 가진 2개의 상으로 이루어진 것이 관찰되었으며 AES 및 XRD 분석에 의해 확인되었다. B의 첨가량의 증가에 따라 재결정온도가 상승하였고 재결정립도가 미세화되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

인발성형 시스템 고도화를 위한 특수합금 육각봉의 압연특성 비교 해석 연구 (Comparative Study on Rolling Characteristics of Hexagonal Bar with Special Alloy for Advancing Drawing System)

  • Hexagonal bolt, nut, fittings, and high-pressure valves with special alloy play an important role in many industrial products. Numerical analysis was conducted to obtain data for designing a new drawing system. This study aims to predict the rolling force of the new drawing system compared to that of the established drawing system. The rolling force of the new drawing system was predicted using numerical analysis by assuming that it is in proportion to deformation. The rolling forces of Mo, Ti, and W were approximately 1.4, 0.5, and 2.5 times those of SUS. Because the values of ultimate strength of special alloys were more close to numerical analysis, the values of ultimate strength could be used to predict the rolling force of the new drawing system without numerical analysis in field.

국부의치 제작에 사용되는 Chrome Cobalt Alloy 주조 시 매몰방법과 주조방향이 주조성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Castability of Investing Method and Casting Direction of Chrome-Cobalt Alloy Widely Used in Production of Patial Denture Framework)

  • When producing partial denture using a Chrome-cobalt alloy being used universally, 45 pattern of them to compare casting characters according to 5 burying methods(special ring method, plastic ring method, general metal ring method) and 5 casting directions(straight, upper, lower, left and right directions) were compared and evaluated. The results were as follows : 1. The comparison of casting characters in accordance with burying type shows that the special ring method to install blind air vent using utility wax was the highest rate of 76.9%, followed by 69.1% of the plastic ring to cast without ring and 61.1% of the metal ring method being used universally respectively. Namely the special ring method was best. The significant level was P<0.05 statistically. 2. The comparison of casting character in accordance with casting directions shows that the straight casting was the highest of 77.9%, and followed by right casting of 74.2%, left casting of 66.7%, upper casting of 63.5%, and lower casting of 62.9% respectively, Namely the straight casting was best.

특수합금 사각봉 모넬 소재의 인발 소성변형 및 롤러 특성 해석 (Analysis on Characteristics of Drawing Plastic Deformation for Rectangular Monel Material with Special Alloy and Rollers)

  • Hydrogen embrittlement leads to the damages in bolts, nut, especially, high pressure valves, in the semiconductor facilities, hydrogen vehicles, hydrogen stations and so on. Monel material has higher strength than SUS material. Therefore, even though Monel material with special alloy is usually used to prevent the hydrogen embrittlement, it needs powerful drawing system to manufacture the rectangular or hexagonal bar using circular bar. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of plastic deformation of Monel material and 2 rollers of rolling unit in plastic limit through numerical analysis. As the results, it was predicted that, based on mean stress, as the rolling step was increased, the rolling force of rolling unit was decreased. In addition, the heat treatment for Monel material was needed because of residual stress due to plastic deformation. As for rollers, the roller was safe about 1.86 times compared with that of ultimate strength. In this study, as the roller 2 showed larger stress than roller 1, thus, roller 2 should be designed carefully to guarantee the safety. Further it was confirmed that the reaction force of roller could be helpful in bearing design.

특수합금 사각봉 모넬 소재의 탄성영역 압출 및 인발 특성 비교 해석 (Comparative Analysis on Characteristics of Extrusion and Drawing for Monel Material of Special Alloy with Rectangular Bar in Elastic Limit)

  • Recently, the special alloy, for instance, such as Monel and Inconel, is used for valves, bolt/nuts, and fittings in semiconductor facility, FCEV(fuel cell electric vehicle) and hydrogen gas station, to reduce the hydrogen embrittlement. Even though the Monel material has high cost, it is recommended to use for the cases of ultra high pressure, ultra high leak-proof and so on. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of Monel material within elastic limit through the comparative analysis when Monel material is extruded or drawn. As the results, the deformation of Monel material was increased as the number of pass was increased, further, the deformation of Monel material by drawing was larger than that by extrusion. In the safety factor, the case that load is less than 420kN, the plastic deformation due to drawing could be happened faster than that due to extrusion. However, the case of more than 420kN, it showed that the plastic deformation for extrusion and drawing was almost similar.

Mo-1.17 Ti-0.18 Zr-0.06 C 합금의 재결정거동에 관한 연구 (Recrystallization Behavior of Mo-1.17 Ti-0.18 Zr-0.06 C Alloy)

  • 플라즈마 아크 용해법으로 이론밀도비 99% 이상인 Mo-1.17 Ti-0.18 Zr-0.06 C 잉고트를 제조하였다. 이때 산소함량은 초기 830ppm에서 40ppm으로 감소하였다. 열간단조 후, 50% 냉간 압연하여 두께 2mm의 판재를 만들어 시편으로 사용하였다. Mo 합금판재의 재결정거동을 조사하기 위하여 $800{\sim}2100^{\circ}C$ 구간에서 1시간 동안 등시열처리하였고, $1400^{\circ}C$, $1500^{\circ}C$, $1600^{\circ}C$에서 0~10800sec 동안 등온열처리하였다. 완전한 재결정은 Mo의 경우 $1400^{\circ}C$에서 종료되었으나 Mo 합금의 경우 $1700^{\circ}C$에서 완료되었다. 또한 Mo 합금의 50%-1시간 재결정온도는 약 $1500^{\circ}C$로서 Mo에 비하여 $300^{\circ}C$ 이상 증가된 것을 알 수 있었다. Mo 합금의 재결정에 필요한 활성화에너지는 508kJ/mol이었다.
