  • This paper introduces a Web site login system that uses user's native voice to improve the bother of remembering the ID and password in order to login the Web site. The DTW method that applies fuzzy inference is used as the speaker recognition algorithm. We get the ACC(Average Cepstrum Coefficient) membership function by each degree, by using the LPC that models the vocal chords, to block the recorded voice that is problem for the speaker recognition. We infer the existence of the recorded voice by setting on the basis of the number of zeros that is the value of the ACC membership function, and on the basis of the average value of the ACC membership function. We experiment the six Web sites for the six subjects and get the result that protects the recorded voice about 98% that is recorded by the digital recorder.

  • In this paper, we introduce the automatic speaker identification system 'SPO(Supreme Prosecutors Office) Verifier'. SPO Verifier is a GMM(Gaussian mixture model)-UBM(universal background model) based automatic speaker recognition system and has been developed using Korean speakers' utterances. This system uses a channel compensation algorithm to compensate recording device characteristics. The system can give the users the ability to manage reference models with utterances from various environments to get more accurate recognition results. To evaluate the performance of SPO Verifier on Korean speakers, we compared this system with one of the most widely used commercial systems in the forensic field. The results showed that SPO Verifier shows lower EER(equal error rate) than that of the commercial system.

  • It has been known that GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) based speaker identification systems using ML (Maximum Likelihood) and WMR (Weighting Model Rank) demonstrate very high performances. However, such systems are not so effective under practical environments, in terms of real time processing, because of their high calculation costs. In this paper, we propose a new speaker-pruning algorithm that effectively reduces the calculation cost. In this algorithm, we select 20% of speaker models having higher likelihood with a part of input speech and apply MWMR (Modified Weighted Model Rank) to these selected speaker models to find out identified speaker. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we performed speaker identification experiments using TIMIT database. The proposed method shows more than 60% improvement of reduced processing time than the conventional GMM based system with no pruning, while maintaining the recognition accuracy.

  • The speech recognition systems using VQ have usually the problem decreasing recognition rate, MSVQ assigning the dissimilar vectors to a segment. In this paper, applying One-stage DMS/DP algorithm to the recognition experiments, we can solve these problems to what degree. Recognition experiment is peformed for Korean DDD area names with DMS model of 20 sections and word unit template. We carried out the experiment in speaker dependent and speaker independent, and get a recognition rates of 97.7% and 81.7% respectively.

  • In this paper, the performance of the speech recognition and speaker adaptation methods are studied. The speech recognition using energy state and VQ(Vector Quantization) is suggested and the speaker adaptation methods(Maximum a posteriori probability estimation, linear specrum estimation) are considered. The experimental results show that recognition ration using energy state is 2-3 % better than that of general VQ.

  • Recent multimedia technology has supported various application services based on the development of effective movie compression and network techniques. On-line video conference system is a typical example that use theses two technologies effectively. On-line video conference system can be characterized into an effective conferencing method for long-distanced on-line conference members. But, unfortunately, off-line conference with face-to-face meeting is more frequent than on-line conference and their support systems have not been sufficiently considered. In this paper, we propose a recording support system for off-Line conference using face and speaker recognition. This system finds the speaker in the conference by using three microphones and three webcam cameras. And analysis is done with face region information that gathered by currently active webcam camera, and recognizes the identity of face. Finally, the system tracks speaker and records conference with extract speaker information.

  • In this paper, we implement the door lock system based on pattern matching technique for speaker recognition using DTW. In this study, major features of our system are summarized as follows:(1) Make the average reference pattern using DTW. This method keeps the high recognition rate compared with the other systems whose performances degrade rapidly as time goes on. (2) Use F-ratio values of the cepstral coefficients. We find that the weighted cepstral reveals an effect on intensifying the difference between th customer and the imposter. The system hardware is composed of two parts : the door lock part and the speaker recognition processing part. We use an 8051 microprocessor in the door lock park for serial communication with host processor to open or close the lock. Using our system, we obtain speaker recognition rate of about 99.5%.

  • We propose a novel speaker adaptation method using acoustic model clustering. The similarity of different speakers is defined by the cosine distance between their i-vectors (intermediate vectors), and various efficient clustering algorithms are applied to obtain a number of speaker subsets with different characteristics. The speaker-independent model is then retrained with the training data of the individual speaker subsets grouped by the clustering results, and an unknown speech is recognized by the retrained model of the closest cluster. The proposed method is applied to a large-scale speech recognition system implemented by a hybrid hidden Markov model and deep neural network framework. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the word error rates using Resource Management database. When the proposed speaker adaptation method using i-vector based clustering was applied, the performance, as compared to that of the conventional speaker-independent speech recognition model, was improved relatively by as much as 12.2% for the conventional fully neural network, and by as much as 10.5% for the bidirectional long short-term memory.

  • For the purpose of speaker normalization in speaker independent speech recognition systems, experiments are conducted on a method based on Gaussian mixture model(GMM). The method, which is an improvement of the previous study based on vector quantizer, consists of modeling the probability distribution of canonical feature vectors by a GMM with an appropriate number of clusters, and of estimating the warp factor of a test speaker by making use of the obtained probabilistic model. The purpose of this study is twofold: improving the existing ML based methods, and comparing the performance of what is called 'soft decision' method with that of the previous study based on vector quantizer. The effectiveness of the proposed method is investigated by recognition experiments on the TIMIT corpus. The experimental results showed that a little improvement could be obtained tv adjusting the number of clusters in GMM appropriately.

  • In this paper, we utilize generalized warped filterbanks to improve the performance of speaker recognition systems. At first, the performance of speaker identification systems is analyzed by varying the type of warped filterbanks. Based on the results that the error pattern of recognition system is different depending on the type of filterbank used, we combine the likelihood values of the statistical models that consist of the features extracting from multiple warped filterbanks. Simulation results with TIMIT and NTIMIT database verify that the proposed system shows relative improvement of identification rate by 31.47% and 15.14% comparing it to the conventional system.
