다중 공간 조인의 병렬 처리 (Parallel Processing of Multi-Way Spatial Join)

  • GIS에서 사용하는 다중 공간 조인은 두 개 이상의 공간 조인이 중첩된 표현이다. 이는 공간 조인에 비해 보다 많은 수행 사간을 필요로 하는데 이를 빠르게 처리하기 위한 병렬화 알고리즘에 대한 연구가 없었다. 이 논문에서는 다중 공간 조인을 다중 공간 여과와 다중 공간 정제로 나누어서 병렬화한다. 그리고, 정제 단계에서 효율적인 정제 수행을 위해 2단계 실행 방법을 제시하는데, 첫번째가 다중 공간 여과의 결과인 후보 객체 테이블에서 발생하는 객체 및 연산의 중복을 제거하기 위한 그래프 생성이고, 두번째가 그래프의 분할에 의한 병렬 정제이다. 그래프에 의한 정제가 그렇지 않은 방법에 비해 매우 높은 성능 향상을 보였으며 병렬 정제를 위한 태스크 생성 방법은 객체를 정점으로 표현하는 그래프에서의 중복 최소화 분할방법이 가장 좋은 성능을 나타내었다.

An Efficient Collision Detection in the Dynamic Spatial Subdivisions for an MMORPG Engine

  • This paper proposes an efficient collision detection method in the dynamic spatial subdivisions for the MMORPG engine which requires realtime interactions. An octree is a suitable structure for static scenes or terrain processing. An octree spatial subdivision enhances rendering speed of scenes. Current spatial subdivisions tend to be highly optimized for efficient traversal, but are difficult to update quickly for a changing geometry. When an object moves to the outside extent for the spatial subdivisions, the acceleration structure would normally have to be rebuilt. The OSP based on a tree is used to divide dynamically wide outside which is the subject of 3D MMORPG. TBV does not reconstruct all tree nodes of OSP and has reduced rebuilding times by TBV information of a target node. A collision detection is restricted to those objects contained in the visibility range of sight by using the information established in TBV. We applied the HBV and ray tracing for an efficient collision detection.

Spatial database architecture for organizing a unified information space for manned and unmanned aviation

  • The widespread introduction of unmanned aircrafts has led to the understanding of the need to organize a common information space for manned and unmanned aircrafts, which is reflected in the Russian Unmanned aircraft system Traffic Management (RUTM) project. The present article deals with the issues of spatial information database (DB) organization, which is the core of RUTM and provides storage of various data types (spatial, aeronautical, topographical, meteorological, vector, etc.) required for flight safety management. Based on the analysis of functional capabilities and types of work which it needs to ensure, the architecture of spatial information DB, including the base of source information, base of display settings, base of vector objects, base of tile packages and also a number of special software packages was proposed. The issues of organization of these DB, types and formats of data and ways of their display are considered in detail. Based on the analysis it was concluded that the optimal construction of the spatial DB for RUTM system requires a combination of different model variants and ways of organizing data structures.

  • An automatic measuring system of three dimensional shape by a projection method with grating pattern from in optical spatial modulator has been developed. The characteristics of the system were studied. This system is composed of a projector, an optical spatial modulator, a CCD camera, and computer. A liquid crystal is used as the optical spatial modulator. The grating patterns that ire projected on the surface of the object are controlled by the computer connected with the optical spatial modulator. The projector patterns are measured by the CCD camera. The data are transferred to the computer. After a transformation into line data, the data are analyzed to obtain the coordinate of the surface of the object. This system has advantages as follows. (1) It is possible to capture the surface topography without any contact. (2) The time required for the measurements is shorter than the light-section method. (3) An optical spatial modulator using a liquid crystal is possible to control the grating patterns accurately by a computer. Surfaces of a plate and a cylinder were measured. The threshold level had an influence on the measurement. It was shown that this system has adequae accuracy in the measurements.

  • The need for LBS (Loc,ation Based Services) is increasing due to the wnespread of mobile computing devices and positioning technologies~ In LBS, there are many applications that need to manage moving objects (e.g. taxies, persons). The moving object join operation is to make pairs with spatio-temporal attribute for two sets in the moving object database system. It is import and complicated operation. And processing time increases by geometric progression with numbers of moving objects. Therefore efficient methods of spatio-temporal join is essential to moving object database system. In this paper, we apply spatial join methods to moving objects join. We propose two kind of join methods with TB- Tree that preserves trajectories of moving objects. One is depth first traversal spatio-temporaljoin and another is breadth-first traversal spatio-temporal join. We show results of performance test with sample data sets which are created by moving object ,generator tool.

  • 본 연구는 지하수 관정 인터페이스를 객체지향 기반으로 설계하였다. 복합적 형태의 현실 세계의 지리 객체를 위한 지리 데이터베이스 구현을 위하여 추상화 단계에서 분석 유형에 대하여 연구하였다. 응용영역에 적합한 유형을 규정하고 객체지향 방법론에 기반 한 UML을 이용하여 분석유형을 설계함으로서 대규모 개방 시스템을 개발하고 배포할 수 있는 컴포넌트의 재사용 성을 증가시키는데 기여하고자 한다.

유아의 물체위치 기억에 관한 연구 (Memory-for-Object Location in Toddlers)

  • The purpose of the present research was to study effects of experimental conditions and developmental tendency in the use of external cues in memory-for-object location in toddlers. This study consisted of two experiments. In study 1, the subjects were 12 toddlers, 18 to 23 months old ; in study 2, 30 toddlers, 24 to 41 months old. The findings showed that memory-for-object location in toddlers was different in accordance with experimental conditions; that is, memory-for-object location in the natural condition was significantly better than in the artificial condition. Effects of external cues were found ; that is, memory-for-object location was best in the condition of spatial cues, and next best in the condition of picture cues, and least good in the no cue condition.

Efficient Generation of Computer-generated Hologram Patterns Using Spatially Redundant Data on a 3D Object and the Novel Look-up Table Method

  • In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the efficient generation of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) using the spatially redundant data on a 3D object and the novel look-up table (N-LUT) method. First, the pre-calculated N-point principle fringe patterns (PFPs) were calculated using the 1-point PFP of the N-LUT. Second, spatially redundant data on a 3D object were extracted and re-grouped into the N-point redundancy map using the run-length encoding (RLE) method. Then CGH patterns were generated using the spatial redundancy map and the N-LUT method. Finally, the generated hologram patterns were reconstructed. In this approach, the object points that were involved in the calculation of the CGH patterns were dramatically reduced, due to which the computational speed was increased. Some experiments with a test 3D object were carried out and the results were compared with those of conventional methods.

  • In this study, some issues on 3- dimentional object recognition and pose determination are discussed. The method employs a laser projector which projects a cyliderical light beam on the object plane where it produces a bright ring pattern. The picture is then taken by a T.V camera. The ring pattern is mathmetically the ellipse of which the geometrical parameters have the 3-dimentional feature of the object plane. This paper gives the mathematical aspects of 3-dimentional recognition method and shows experimentally the variations of ellipse parameters as the spatial deviation of the plane object.

비디오에서 객체의 시공간적 연속성과 움직임을 이용한 동적 객체추출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Extraction of the dynamic objects using temporal continuity and motion in the Video)

  • Recently, it has become an important problem to extract semantic objects from videos, which are useful for improving the performance of video compression and video retrieval. In this thesis, an automatic extraction method of moving objects of interest in video is suggested. We define that an moving object of interest should be relatively large in a frame image and should occur frequently in a scene. The moving object of interest should have different motion from camera motion. Moving object of interest are determined through spatial continuity by the AMOS method and moving histogram. Through experiments with diverse scenes, we found that the proposed method extracted almost all of the objects of interest selected by the user but its precision was 69% because of over-extraction.
