Integrating Spatial and Temporal Relationship Operators into SQL3 for Historical Data Management

  • A spatial object changes its states over time. However, existing spatial and temporal database systems cannot fully manage time-varying data with both spatial and non-spatial attributes. To overcome this limitation, we present a framework for spatio-temporal databases that can manage all time-varying historical information and integrate spatial and temporal relationship operators into the select statement in SQL3. For the purpose of our framework, we define three referencing macros and a history aggregate operator and classify the existing spatial and temporal relationship operators into three groups: exclusively spatial relationship operators, exclusively temporal relationship operators, and spatio-temporal common relationship operators. Finally, we believe the integration of spatial and temporal relationship operators into SQL3 will provide a useful framework for the history management of time-varying spatial objects in a uniform manner.

  • This study is about objectified spatial composition. The Interior Design field has grown and established its major trends dependent upon other related field of study. With this perspective in mind, esthetics on Interior Design has to be treated in similar manner. In modem architects or fine artists have defined the terminology 'objectification' theoretical principle where by unable to distinguish between 'object's type' and 'objects', Presently, the term 'objectified' became a trend word. In order to confront misconception of the idea of 'objectification', some people define as reflection of this complex society. There are five types in expression of objectified spatial composition in Interior Design. Which are free form spatial composition through artistry of artists, fantastic spatial composition by polysemous collision, symbolic spatial composition from the metaphorical of form, aggregate spatial composition by geometric collision and geometric superimposition, and cultural spatial composition. Therefore, this study aims to help understanding of tendency in various space expressions in Interior Design through searching how to express type of objectified spatial composition in Interior Design from 2000 through 2005.

Real-Time Tracking of Moving Object by Adaptive Search in Spatial-temporal Spaces (시공간 적응탐색에 의한 실시간 이동물체 추적)

  • This paper describes the real-time system which, through analyzing a sequence of images, can extract motional information on a moving object and can contol servo equipment to always locate the moving object at the center of an image frame. An image is a vast amount of two-dimensional signal, so it takes a lot of time to analyze the whole quantity of a given image. Especially, the time needed to load pixels from a memory to processor increase exponentially as the size of an image increases. To solve such a problem and track a moving object in real-time, this paper addresses how to selectively search the spatial and time domain. Based on the selective search of spatial and time domain, this paper suggests various types of techniques which are essential in implementing a real-time tracking system. That is, this paper describes how to detect an entrance of a moving object in the field of view of a camera and the direction of the entrance, how to determine the time interval of adjacent images, how to determine nonstationary areas formed by a moving object and calculated velocity and position information of a moving object based on the determined areas, how to control servo equipment to locate the moving object at the center of an image frame, and how to properly adjust time interval(${\Delta}$t) to track an object taking variable speed.

A Study on Development of the Spatial Network Analysis Tool based on Open BIM Technologies (개방형 BIM 기반 공간네트워크 분석도구 개발에 관한 연구)

  • One distinguishing feature of BIM(Building Information Modeling) is the objectification of spatial elements independently, which makes it easy to represent spatial network. From this perspective, this study aimed to develop the spatial network analysis tool based on open BIM technologies. From the literature review, an object model of spatial network with nodes and links and a process model from construction to visualization were established. A prototype system implementing the proposed models, named SNAT(Spatial Network Analysis Tool), was developed in Java platform with using its open source packages. SNAT can create a spatial network from IFC-BIM model, calculate the indices of spatial network analysis, and visualize it with the representing types(map, graph, matrix and table).

  • This study tried to create 3D object with LOD3 level for Korean traditional house which is atypical structure, upload to spatial information open platform and confirm the possibility for creating 3D-map. And this study tried to create 3D model for Korean traditional house based on BIM, performed 3D modeling for interior spatial information of Korean traditional house and confirm the development possibility of 3D modeling and visualization method of Korean traditional house. Also this study present the possibility of LOD4 level visualization for spatial information of Korean traditional house which is atypical structure, but 3D object with LOD4 level can't be uploaded to Spatial Information Open Platform currently, cause by data volume limitation of spatial information open platform.

  • Spatial data mining is a process to discover interesting relationships and characteristics those exist implicitly in a spatial database. Many spatial clustering algorithms have been developed. But, there are few approaches that focus simultaneously on clustering spatial data and assigning weight to non-spatial attributes of objects. In this paper, we propose a new spatial clustering algorithm, called DBSCAN-W, which is an extension of the existing density-based clustering algorithm DBSCAN. DBSCAN algorithm considers only the location of objects for clustering objects, whereas DBSCAN-W considers not only the location of each object but also its non-spatial attributes relevant to a given application. In DBSCAN-W, each datum has a region represented as a circle of various radius, where the radius means the degree of the importance of the object in the application. We showed that DBSCAN-W is effective in generating clusters reflecting the users requirements through experiments.

The Application of BP and RBF Neural Network Methods on Vehicle Detection in Aerial Imagery

  • This paper presents an approach to Back-propagation and Radial Basis Function neural network method with various training set for automatic vehicle detection from aerial images. The initial extraction of candidate object is based on Mean-shift algorithm with symmetric property of a vehicle structure. By fusing the density and the symmetry, the method can remove the ambiguous objects and reduce the cost of processing in the next stage. To extract features from the detected object, we describe the object as a log-polar shape histogram using edge strengths of object and represent the orientation and distance from its center. The spatial histogram is used for calculating the momentum of object and compensating the direction of object. BPNN and RBFNN are applied to verify the object as a vehicle using a variety of non-car training sets. The proposed algorithm shows the results which are according to the training data. By comparing the training sets, advantages and disadvantages of them have been discussed.

A Study on a Recombination Method for the Bottom-up Construction of Spatial Information Products (재조합을 위한 Bottom-up 공간정보제품 제작 방법)

  • This study is on a recombination method for the construction of spatial information products which demands are unpredictably various. The present production method of digital maps is not flexible enough for their reusability because it is not object-oriented but top-down. Each spatial object needs to have particular attributes to be recombined. The demand changes the production method through the reclassification of data and changing the properties. In a user perspective, the bottom-up method can produce on-demand spatial information products including existing digital maps. The method is derived from case studies and theoretical reviews and compared with the existing production method. In the method spatial information products are reclassified by their geometry objects such as point, line, and polygon, with basic attributes, and other related domain attributes. The geometry objects and domain attributes are connected by adding new attributes for their later relationship and management, which make the recombination possible. To prove its usability of the method it is tested for current and future user demands including the national base map, thematic maps and the future spatial information products.

A New CSR-DCF Tracking Algorithm based on Faster RCNN Detection Model and CSRT Tracker for Drone Data

  • Nowadays object tracking process becoming one of the most challenging task in Computer Vision filed. A CSR-DCF (channel spatial reliability-discriminative correlation filter) tracking algorithm have been proposed on recent tracking benchmark that could achieve stat-of-the-art performance where channel spatial reliability concepts to DCF tracking and provide a novel learning algorithm for its efficient and seamless integration in the filter update and the tracking process with only two simple standard features, HoGs and Color names. However, there are some cases where this method cannot track properly, like overlapping, occlusions, motion blur, changing appearance, environmental variations and so on. To overcome that kind of complications a new modified version of CSR-DCF algorithm has been proposed by integrating deep learning based object detection and CSRT tracker which implemented in OpenCV library. As an object detection model, according to the comparable result of object detection methods and by reason of high efficiency and celerity of Faster RCNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural Network) has been used, and combined with CSRT tracker, which demonstrated outstanding real-time detection and tracking performance. The results indicate that the trained object detection model integration with tracking algorithm gives better outcomes rather than using tracking algorithm or filter itself.

Design on the System and OSID Structure for Managing Object-Based Seamless Digital Map (객체기반연속수치지도 관리를 위한 OSID 구조 및 시스템 체계 연구)

  • A study about UFID for the management and administration of digital map has achieved much progress through the Korea National Geographic Information Institute. But it is ture that the content and process is too complicated to be applied. For overcoming this and to make harmonious management of the object based seamless digital map, we need to develop the method which has the unique feature identifier on the digital map for management and administration. So, we introduce OSID(Object-based Seamless digital map IDentifier) on the object based seamless digital map and apply OSID in the system to manage the digital map. This study is based on the OSID basic structure which is applied in object based seamless digital map and design the structure of OSID system to maintain and manage each feature of the object based seamless digital map.
