The high prices of satellite images prevent researchers from studying remote sensing and most non-professional people doesn't have the simple and easy solutions for the manipulation of satellite images. "Integrated Management of Satellite Imagery Information" project which will be promoted by ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) will provide the solutions for the above mentioned problems. We will introduce the archiving center in this study. This includes the data construction, storage, management and distribution. We first review the background for this archiving center and introduce the interior and foreign institutes which archive and distribute satellite images. We review our H/W system and S/W system briefly. Finally, the further service of our project will be suggested. Since we will distribute the satellite images (Landsat, SPOT, JERS, Corona, Kompast-1) and will receive Landsat7 ETM+ in 2003 you, this will help the professional work dealing with the satellite image and attract the non-professional people for simple and easy manipulation solutions of satellite image.

This study aims is to explore of the theoretical concepts of regional imbalances and spatial inequality, analysis of spatial distribution of economic growth and identifying of "growth poles" for sustainable development in the regions of Kazakhstan. Based on the theoretical views, we conclude that the key direction of regional policy is the search and development of "growth poles", which will distribute their potential equally to backward regions. The authors propose the methodological tools for presenting a standard form of evaluation of spatial distribution and inequality of the regions of Kazakhstan. This study confirms the importance of using of proposed methods and its application for objectively and realistically defines "growth poles" for sustainable development. Further, the obtained results showed the distribution of Kazakhstan's regions by economic growth and specialization with using modified index of KDI. According to the results of this theoretical and empirical study proved that distribution of the regions of Kazakhstan and results of KDI indexes shows that the spatial differentiation of economic development, but its level and dynamics are different in different respects. In addition, according to the conducted survey, we conclude that one of the most important tasks is sustainable growth based on "growth poles" for sustainable development.
In the spatial configuration of room-to-room art museums, openings and walls are important physical factors, and openings are a medium for connecting spaces. Also, by spatially composing walls and openings, spaces can be connected visually and physically, and movements and directions may vary depending on the location or size of walls and openings. In this study, 5 museums are investigated: Sainsbury Wing in London, Gemaldegalerie In Berlin, Alte Pinakotkek in Munich, Neue Pinakothek in Munich, and Staatsgalerie Stuttgart in Stuttgart. Using DepthMap program, the characteristics of visual-spatial composition of each museum are derived by comparing the Connectivity, Visual integration, and Isovist maximum radial. From an analysis of spatial distribution, a relationship with visibility is investigated. The results of this study showed that the combination of visual axial lines affect the spatial configuration of the room-to-room museums. Depending on the location of opening, the museums can be classified as follows: 1) Museums with the 1st visual axial line and the 2nd and 3rd auxiliary visual axial lines ; 2) museums with several equal visual axial lines; and 3) museums with only center axial line.

One of the most challenging and encouraging applications of state-of-the-art technology is the field of traffic control systems. It combines techniques from the areas of telecommunications and computer science to establish traffic information and various assistance services. The support of the system requires a moving objects database system (MODB) that stores moving objects efficiently and performs spatial or temporal queries with time conditions. In this paper, we propose schemes to distribute an index nodes of trajectory based on spatio-temporal proximity and the characteristics of moving objects. The scheme predicts the extendible MBB of nodes of index through the prediction of moving object, and creates a parallel trajectory index. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed schemes give us the performance improvement by 15%. This result makes an improvement of performance by 50% per one disk.

Declustering and parallel index structures are important research areas to improve a performance of databases. Previous researches proposed several distribution schemes for parallel R-trees, however there is no search schemes to be suitable for the index. In this paper, we propose schemes to improve the performance of range queries for distribute parallel indexes. The proposed schemes use the features that a parallel disk can read multiple nodes from various disks. The proposed schemes are verified using various implementations and performance evaluations. We propose new schemes which can read multiple nodes from multiple disks in contrast that to the previous schemes which can read a node from disk. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed schemes give us the performance improvement by 40% from the previous researches.

The objective of the research presented in this paper is to design a highly efficient LCD-TV backlight unit (BLU) which minimizes lamp count without light leakage from the BLU. A new optical plate helps to successfully distribute spatial luminance in a 46inch LCD-BLU consisting of only 20 CCFLs.
For many applications particularly in navigation system, a three-dimensional representation improves the usability of information. This paper introduces 3D Graphical User Interface (GUI) of indoor location tracking system, 3D Navigation View. The application provides users a 3D visualization of the indoor environments they are exploring, synchronized with the physical world through spatial information obtained from indoor location tracking system. It adopts widely used Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) to construct, represent, distribute and render 3D world of indoor environments over Internet. Java, an all-purpose programming language is integrated to comprehend spatial information received from indoor location tracking system. Both are connected through an interface called External Authoring Interface (EAI) provided by VRML. Via EAI, Java is given the authority to access and manipulate the 3D objects inside the 3D world that facilitates the indication of user's position and viewpoint in the constructed virtual indoor environments periodically.
The study was emphasized on application of the digital image processing techniques for lineament analysis. The major lineament of the study area belongs to Choogaryong faults which many geologists have studied since 1903. Also the lineament is so significant in geological views, because the lineament runs through Seoul area. The several image processing methods such as gradient, Laplacian and spatial filter have been applied, and the spatial filtering is most suitable method for lineament analysis among them. The lineaments distribute predominently in the N20.deg.-30.deg.E trend and N80.deg.-90.deg.W trend which have the conjugated relationship each other, and it coincides with the Gyeongsang conjugate system. The circular structure of study area was developed by cooling circular joint.

Astronomic surveying has been regarded as an important method for absolute positioning of geodetic datum in each countries under the local geodetic reference system. The purposes of this study are to determine astrogeodetic geoidal heights referred to Bessel ellipsoid and to determine deflection of the vertical and geoidal heights referred to GRS80 of World Geodetic System by astronomic surveying data which have been surveyed after 1970 in Korea. The results show that $\xi$ component of the deflection of the vertical distribute from -5.725" to 8.005" and $\eta$ component distribute from -14.917" to 6.2" and astrogeodrtic geoidal heights distribute from 23 m to 27 m in the study area. Also, we could see that GRS80 was more optimal ellipsoid than Bessel 1841 ellipsoid to Korea through comparing both astrogeotic geoidal heights referred to GRS80 and Bessel 1841 ellipsoid.
Recently, a MMORPG(Massively Multi-play Online Role Playing Game) has built distribute server by Seamless world. This paper proposes an efficient collision detection method. DLS is used to dynamically adjust spatial subdivisions in each the boundary regions of distribute server We use an index table to effectively utilize the relationships between in the nodes and can perform the collision detection efficiently by reconstructing nodes of the tree. Also, we maintain the information for the boundary region to efficiently detect the collections and adjust the boundary regions between distributed servers by using DLS. As the DLS uses pointers, the information for each server is not needed and the boundary regions between the distributed servers are efficiently searched. Using node index points, the construction table can be made to find between ray and neighborhood node, In addition, processes for Network traffic reduce because a copy of the boundary regions is not needed when a object moves with realtime.
