The building of spatial database such as digital maps has been extensively achieved as a base of geographic information system. However, in the GIS system built by the organizations including local autonomous entities, there are some problems technically and systematically for a promptly updating of GIS DB. This research is to develop the object-oriented database updating system to efficiently update the spatial data at any time for a small area. It could be managed the history of spatial database such as creation, modification and deletion at a object level using the UFID of spatial data. This system could help to modify or update the changed geographical features in an office or in-situ promptly. Finally, it could be made the efficient updating manner of geographic data and the assurance of newest database.
It can be effective to extract and apply the updated information from the newly updated map data for updating road data of topographic map. In this study, update target data and update reference data are overlaid and the update objects are explored using network matching technique. And the network objects are classified into five matching and update cases and the update processes for each case are applied to the test data. For this study, road centerline data of digital topographic map is used as an update target data and road data of Korean Address Information System is used as an update reference data. The buffer-based network matching method is applied to the two data and the matching and update cases are classified after calculating the overlaid ratio of length. The newly updated road centerline data of digital topographic map is generated from the application of update process for each case. As a result, the update information can be extracted from the different map dataset and applied to the road network data updating.
In client-server computing environments, update transactions of spatial data have the following characteristics. First, a transaction to update maps needs interactive work, and therefore it nay take a long time to finish. Second, a long transaction should be allowed to read the dirty data to enhance parallelism of executing concurrent transactions. when %he transaction is rolled back, it should guarantee the cascading rollback of all of the dependent transactions. Finally, two spatial objects may have a weak dependency constraint, called the spatial relationship, based on geometric topology. The existing recovery approaches cannot be directly applied to this environment, due to the high rollback cost and the overhead of cascading rollbacks. Furthermore, the previous approaches cannot guarantee the data integrity because the spatial relationship, which is a new consistency constraint of spatial data, is not considered. This paper presents new recovery schemes for update transactions of spatial data. To guarantee the data integrity, this paper defines recovery dependency as a rendition of cascading rollbacks. The partial-rollback is alto suggested to solve the problem of high rollback cost. The recovery schemes proposed in this paper can remove the unnecessary cascading rollbacks by using undo-delta, partial -redo and partial-undo. Finally, the schemes are performed to ensure the correctness.

A demand on the spatial data management has been rapidly increased with the introduction and diffusion process of ITS, Telematics, and Wireless Sensor Network. And many different users use the digital map that offers various thematic spatial data. Spatial data for digital map can be managed by tile-based and feature-based data. The existing tile-based digital map management systems have difficult problems such as data construction, history management, and update data based on a spatial object. In order to solve these problems, we proposed the data model for feature-based digital map management system for representation of feature-based seamless map, history management, real-time update of spatial data, and analyzed the validity and utility of the proposed model.

Recently, the demand for more precise and demand-oriented customized spatial information is increasing due to the 4th industrial revolution. In particular, the use of 3D spatial information and digital twins which based on spatial information, and research for solving social problems in cities by using such information are continuously conducted. Globally, non-face-to-face services are increasing due to COVID-19, and the national policy direction is also rapidly progressing digital transformation, digitization and virtualization of the Korean version of the New Deal, which means that 3D spatial information has become an important factor to support it. In this study, physical objects for cities defined by world organizations such as ISO, OGC, and ITU were selected and the target of the 3D object model was limited to buildings. Based on CityGML2.0, the data collected using a drone suitable for building a 3D model of a small area is selected to be updated through road name address and building ledger, which are administrative information related to this, and LoD2.5 data is constructed and urban space. It was intended to suggest an object update method for a 3D building among data.

The system for managing spatial data updates the existing information by extracting only the information that is different from the existing information for the newly obtained spatial information file to update the stored information. In order to extract only objects that have changed from existing information, it is necessary to compare whether there is any difference from existing information for all objects included in the newly obtained spatial information file. This study was conducted to improve this total inspection method in a situation where the amount of spatial information that is frequently updated increases and data update is required at the national level. In this study, before inspecting individual objects in a new acquisition space information file, a method of determining whether individual space objects have been changed only by the information in the file was considered. Spatial data files have structured data characteristics different from general image or text document files, so it is possible to determine whether to change the file unit in a simpler way compared to the existing method of creating and managing file hash. By reducing the number of target files that require full inspection, it is expected to improve the use of resources in the system by saving the overall data quality inspection time and saving data extraction time.
The update transactions to be executed in spatial databases usually have been known as interactive and long duration works. To improve the parallelism of concurrent updates, it needs multiple transactions concurrently update a large spatial object which has a spatial extensions larger than workspace of a client. However, under the existing locking protocols, it is not possible to concurrently update a large spatial object because of conflict of a write lock This paper proposes a partial locking scheme of enabling a transaction to set locks on parts of a big object. The partial locking scheme which is an exclusive locking scheme set by user, acquires locks for a part of the big object to restrict the unit of concurrency control to a partial object of a big object. The scheme gives benefits of improving the concurrency of un updating job for a large object because it makes the lock control granularity finer.
In mobile client-server environments, mobile clients usually are disconnected with their server because of high cost of wireless communication and keep their own local copies to provide efficient updating the cached map. The update of the server database leads to invalidation of the cached map in the client side. To solve the issues of invalidation of the cached map, it is not efficient to resend part of the updated server database to clients whenever the updating of the server database occurs. This paper proposes a log-based update propagation method to propagate the server's update into its relevant clients by using only update logs. Too many logs increasingly accumulate as the sever database is updated several times. The sequential search of the relevant log data for a specific client is time-consuming. Sending of unnecessary logs should be avoided for reducing the overhead of communication.'re solve these problems, we first define unnecessary logs and then suggest log reduction methods to avoid or cancel creating unnecessary logs. The update log index is used for quickly retrieving relevant logs.

This paper presents multiple regression analysis and data update to improve present spatial electric load forecasting algorithm of the DISPLAN. Spatial electric load forecasting considers a local economy, the number of local population and load characteristics. A Case study is performed for Jeon-Ju and analyzes a trend of the spatial load for the future 20 years. The forecasted information can contribute to an asset management of distribution systems.
There are various structures in the underground space, and the structures is managed as 3D data in Integrated Underground Geospatial Map Management System(IUGMMS). The worker transmits and updates the integrated map including the changed underground geospatial data to IUGMMS with the completed book submission program. However, there is a problem in that the transmission time and the update time is delayed because the size of the integrated map file is large. In this paper, we try to extract and transmit only the changed integrated map by obtaining and comparing each spatial characteristic information of the integrated map. As a result of the experiment, the transmission time of the suggestion method is short and the update time is also short than the transitional method because the suggestion method transmits only the integrated map including the changed underground geospatial data. As a result, it was possible to reduce the delay time in transmitting and updating the changed integrated map.
